The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 757: Chapter 757: Only a Simple Draft Version_1

After quickly weighing the pros and cons, he lifted his head as if he had made up his mind, his gaze settling heavily on Nathalie Quinlan, ”But Ms. Quinlan, you don’t know the content of the presentation... With such short notice, even if you can deal with the Trojan virus, you don’t have a speech prepared...”

Nathalie Quinlan had no idea what to say on stage, had never made a PPT, and was clueless about the procedure, how to proceed.

Today, the girl wasn’t wearing her duckbill cap, her facial features so delicate and bright they were strikingly eye-catching.

At his words, she simply lifted her eyes calmly, her beautiful black pupils locked on his, their gaze meeting in a way that somehow reassured.

”Is there a manuscript?”

Wallace Radcliff’s breathing hitched, and as he came back to his senses, his brows furrowed so tight they could have killed a fly, ”There is one, but it’s not complete, I only have a simple draft.”

He had planned to speak without a script and thus had not prepared a complete version, only printing out the essential content and organizing it into a draft.

Even though it was a simple version, it was still a good ten pages long.

It was filled with professional jargon.

And a lot of foreign languages.

Nathalie Quinlan didn’t waste words, saying concisely, ”Let me see it.”

”Now?” Wallace Radcliff asked, but after meeting the girl’s eyes again, he took a deep breath, retrieved the draft, and handed it to Nathalie Quinlan.

”This is it, just a simple version.”

Nathalie Quinlan took the manuscript and began flipping through the pages, the light casting a faint glow on her profile.

For the next ten minutes, everyone in the room watched her turn a page every two minutes, consistently every two minutes.

Her speed was so fast that it seemed she wasn’t reading a report filled with obscure scientific vocabulary but rather a comic book.

It was almost as if she was speed-reading...

As time ticked by, after ten minutes, the girl finished the last page of the manuscript, raised her head, her profile sharp, and said to Wallace Radcliff, ”I’m done, I’ll take your place and go up there.”

”...Ms. Quinlan.” Wallace Radcliff had a lot he wanted to say, but looking at Nathalie Quinlan, all he could manage was to dryly call out her name.

He couldn’t bring himself to let Nathalie Quinlan go up and be his scapegoat.

Nathalie Quinlan thought he was worried she would mess things up, stood up with the speech Wallace Radcliff had given her, and said composedly, ”Don’t worry, I’ve looked through your draft and roughly know the procedure; I shouldn’t mess up...”

Wallace Radcliff wasn’t worried about her messing up.

She turned to Mario Cagwin and asked, ”Is it almost time?”

Mario Cagwin checked the time and informed Nathalie Quinlan, ”Three minutes left.”

Nathalie Quinlan unplugged the USB flash drive from the computer, her refined eyes both cool and intense, her voice low and slightly hoarse, ”Let’s go, let’s head over.”

She led the way, with Mario Cagwin guiding her at her side.

Team Two never expected her to dare replace Wallace Radcliff and present the autonomous driving system to the international scientific experts, especially when she had only looked at the draft for ten minutes and was carrying a USB flash drive that the Trojan hadn’t been resolved yet; she still dared to go on stage...

Some were stunned as they watched her retreating figure, unable to help but murmur lowly, ”Can she pull it off?”

This time, Nathalie Quinlan had stepped forward to defend the tech department. Wallace Radcliff couldn’t describe the emotions surging within him; when he heard someone from Team Two gossiping, he scowled and said in a cold voice, ”Even if she can’t, Phoebe Hoffman hasn’t come forward! What’s there to complain about, if you can do it, then you go!”

Inside The Ninth Institute’s auditorium.

It was the break in the middle of the conference, with attendants coming in to serve tea and water.

Approximately twenty blonde-haired and blue-eyed experts were using this brief interval to share insights on the Prokaryotic Experiment showcased by Master Cadmus.
