The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 781: Chapter 781: Lighten Chaser Never Cares About Gossip_1

Hearing this, he simply raised his eyebrows indifferently, his tone disdainful, ”I know, he mentioned Lighten Chaser. Lighten Chaser is somewhat of a public figure; so what if he said a few unpleasant things in a private chat? Even Lighten Chaser doesn’t mind, so what’s the meaning of Audrick getting physical? Don’t tell me that Audrick struck someone because he was mentioned in a private conversation.”

”He...” The agent really wanted to say, so what if that were the case.

However, the identity of Lighten Chaser was a secret, and even though he knew very well that there was a reason for Audrick’s actions, faced with these people’s attitudes, he just had to swallow his anger.

”Anyway, if you want to settle this matter, it’s quite simple from our side—we only have one demand—Audrick must publicly apologize to Wayne Baker on Twitter! Otherwise, there’s nothing to discuss!”

Angela Catterton never felt that Lighten Chaser would make a fuss. Everyone in the Circle knew Lighten Chaser was aloof to the extreme, didn’t make contact with entertainment companies and had no intention of debuting. Despite high popularity, he never bothered with online gossip or marketing, didn’t even have a Twitter account, virtually indistinguishable from being a hermit.

It was precisely for this reason that she didn’t take to heart those private disparaging remarks Wayne Baker made about Lighten Chaser, her attitude extremely arrogant as she looked at Audrick’s agent and said, ”You all can think it over yourselves!”

Outside City Hospital in McKinney, a nanny van sat quietly under the shade of the trees.

The air conditioner in the car was on.

Inside, it was warmly heated, not cold at all. The man nestled in the back seat, with a slight scrape on his cheek that didn’t affect his good looks, was holding a phone and playing a game, his eyes and brows extremely cold.

”...” The others in the car exchanged glances, concern brimming in their hearts.

How could Audrick still be in the mood to play games?

Didn’t he know Wayne Baker’s ’innocent victim’ statement on Twitter was approaching ten thousand shares?

If this continued, the company wouldn’t be able to contain the heat, and it would blow up on the hot search.

Just as everyone was unsure what to do, the car door opened, and the agent hurriedly entered from outside. As soon as he got in, the assistant immediately asked him.

”Bro, how’s it going with Wayne Baker?”

Mentioning this made the agent’s head spin with irritation; pulling the car door shut, he spoke with gloom, ”Still checking. He wants a full-body checkup; the results aren’t out yet.”

”A full-body checkup? Aren’t they being a bit too dramatic?” The assistant had been at the scene and knew Wayne Baker’s condition well; pressing her lips together, she said, ”At most, he was hit a few times in the face; is a full-body checkup really necessary?”

”Haha, you think it’s unnecessary, but they don’t. They’re even preparing for an ECG, as if wishing to check inside out, hoping to find something to pin the blame on!”

Having said that, he didn’t wait for the response from the others in the car, turned his head, and looked at the man playing games in the backseat, starting with a somber tone, ”Audrick, how do you plan to handle this situation?”

Audrick was in a rather bad mood and, looking up upon hearing this, his gaze was stormy, ”What do you mean handle it? Pay whatever needs to be paid. I’m not short of cash. Let him get checked however he wants.”

”I know you’re not short of money...” The agent braced his forehead with his hand, feeling more and more headaches; he knew Audrick’s family situation, and that entering the entertainment circle was just for fun, but this issue was indeed tough to resolve, ”This isn’t about the money. They’re adamant about tying you up to drum up publicity, and continuing this drama will only make public opinion less favorable towards you!”

Audrick just got killed in the game with a headshot, and so he casually put down the phone, saying with an indifferent face, ”Did they give you any conditions? What do they want?”

He wasn’t afraid of making a big fuss; if things got out of hand, the worst that could happen was he would leave the entertainment circle.
