The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 791: Chapter 791: The License Plate Number is Extremely Arrogant_1

Ivy Wilmar emerged from the Imperial Hotel with an unpleasant face coloring, descending the steps with unhurried irritation and a downturned mouth.

Ghania Quinlan followed behind her, casting a thoughtful glance back at the door of the Imperial Hotel before hurrying to catch up. She said softly, as if by chance, ”I wonder who booked the entire place. Even the Manager wouldn’t acknowledge your ’face’.”

”Hmph,” Ivy seethed internally but maintained a neutral expression as she replied, ”In Beijing, there are hidden dragons and crouching tigers. I’m not as influential as you think. I’m bound to encounter people who won’t give me ’face’.”

”However...” she paused, reaching the car, then stopped, looking back with a complex gaze. ”It’s my first time hearing that this place could be booked out. I suppose the person who did must hold a high status, definitely someone who would make the news.”

In the past month, Ghania had seen quite the variety of life and couldn’t help but cast an additional look toward the Imperial Hotel upon hearing this.

The individuals in Beijing who made the news were surely at the very top of the social ’Pyramid’.

Her eyes could not hide the envy and longing they held.

”Let’s go, we’ll find somewhere else to eat,” said Ivy, oblivious to the ambition and yearning in her companion’s eyes as she opened the car door.

Ghania obediently withdrew her line of sight and opened the car door, responding, ”Mmm.”

Just as she was about to get into the car, out of the corner of her eye, she saw a black Hongqi approaching.

In Beijing, a myriad of luxury cars was a common sight; rare models unseen in the rest of the city were mundane here.

Yet, it was rare for someone in Beijing to drive a Hongqi.

The license plate number on that passing Hongqi was exceedingly arrogant.

A string of 8s followed the Beijing license plate.

This kind of license plate number couldn’t be bought with money alone.

Before getting into the car, she couldn’t help but take another look in that direction, and upon seeing the black sedan stop in front of the Imperial Hotel’s entrance, she became more intrigued.

Soon after, a man and a woman stepped out of the car.

The man was tall, with a straight back that alone indicated a distinguished aura. The Manager who had just turned them away at the Imperial Hotel was now obsequiously bending over and smiling as he took the car keys from the man, speaking with extreme caution.

As for what they were saying, Ghania was too far to hear a thing.

But from the Manager’s behavior, it was clear he held the man in the highest regard, even exuding a sense of being very careful around him.

Was this the person the Manager said had booked the entire Imperial Hotel?

He appeared young from his silhouette.

She narrowed her eyelids, her gaze primarily settling on the girl walking shoulder to shoulder with the man into the hotel.

The girl had her back to her, never turning around, but the sheer sense of disdain that couldn’t be suppressed reminded her intensely of someone.

Nathalie Quinlan!

Ghania was struck by an unexpected thought of a person, fixating on the already disappearing figure of the girl, the more she looked, the more familiar it seemed.

When she had passed through McKinney, she had made a point of inquiring about Nathalie. She was told that Nathalie Quinlan hadn’t returned to No. 1 Middle School yet.

It wouldn’t surprise her if Nathalie was in Beijing.

What was perplexing was the Manager mentioned the Imperial Hotel was booked by someone, and her aunt had said that it was likely by someone who could attend conferences of the highest ’rank’... How could Nathalie have any connection to such a person?

Her heart grew agitated, she bit her lip, wishing she could catch up and see for herself if it was Nathalie.

Ivy had been in the car for a while, inserting the car keys when she saw Ghania still standing there in a daze; she couldn’t help shouting, ”Ghania, what are you doing? Get in the car.”
