Chapter 289: Chapter 292 I can give you money

Chapter 292 I Can Give You Money

”I’m busy, not going,” Lin Zifeng bluntly refused. Why should I go and be your shield? Do I look that cheap? Even if I’m technically your cousin’s bodyguard, you can’t just order people around like that; I’m not a servant.

Not to mention I’m your future cousin-in-law. You can’t mess with people like this.

”I can give you money.”

”Even with money, I’m not going,” Lin Zifeng repeated.

”You won’t go even if I give you money?” Hua Buqi started to wonder. Has this guy changed his ways today? Not going even if offered money?

Providing actual cash would be another story. Just saying ’I’ll give you money’ and every time you’re in trouble, I’m the one to take the heat, but you always trick me and I haven’t seen as much as a hair from it. Brother is not falling for it anymore.

”I’ll give you money. Don’t you like money? Look, here’s three thousand yuan, should be enough, right?” The girl really is loaded. She took out three thousand yuan in cash from her purse and flung it in Lin Zifeng’s face, a look on hers that said I have the money and let’s see what you’ll do about it.

Looking at the three thousand yuan on the dining table, Lin Zifeng’s expression softened. Although it wasn’t a lot, it could make a difference for poor kids, so the deal was worth it.

”Alright, it’s settled then.” Lin Zifeng agreed readily, picking up the three thousand Big Money from the dining table and pocketing it. He asked, ”So, how exactly do you want me to act as your shield?”

Hua Buqi first glared at him disdainfully. She hadn’t expected this beastly uncle to succumb to the lure of money, and then smilingly said, ”Just follow behind me and Tangtang. If someone tries to approach me for an autograph, just block them. Easy, right?”

Easy? Lin Zifeng leaned back, puffing on his cigarette, and asked lazily, ”Huahua, can it really be that simple? Judging by your expression, could it be that straightforward?”

”Of course. What, do you think I’d make you do something dangerous?” said Hua Buqi.

”Ahem, Huahua, stop beating around the bush. You seem to imply it’s not that simple. You want me to act as a shield for you two? It’s beginning to sound a little sketchy to me. You’re not just messing with me, are you?” Lin Zifeng thought. Whenever this young lady needed his help, it seemed to always be for sketchy deals—stuff she didn’t want to deal with or couldn’t handle herself, dumped on him. He wasn’t a garbage collector; why should he carry the brunt of her troubles?

”Since you’ve taken my money, don’t ask anymore. It won’t harm you, just get ready and don’t embarrass me later. You wouldn’t want to shame a young and unbeatable beauty like me.”

Seeing the excited expressions on Huahua and Liu Tangtang’s faces, Lin Zifeng didn’t give it much thought. It’s just acting as a shield, so bring it on. Let all the ’cheap shots’ fly at me.

”Yay! You’re so right, Lord Hua. After all, we’re going to be superstars in the entertainment industry; we can’t let others look down on us. We need to have bodyguards around, right?”

Liu Tangtang, holding a big chicken leg, cheered with sparkling eyes.

Lin Zifeng completely ignored her and turned to Huahua, asking, ”By the way, Huahua, can you tell me where you’re going?”

”To school,” Huahua casually replied.

”To school?” Lin Zifeng was mildly surprised. Was Huahua still in school?

”What, you don’t want to go?”

”No, it’s not that I don’t want to go, I’m just surprised. Didn’t you graduate already? Why are you going to school now? Could it be that you never got your diploma while you were out and about before?”

”You don’t need to worry about that, just ensure my safety. Today is my first day at university, just make sure you don’t embarrass me,” said Hua Buqi nonchalantly.

Fine, you’re the boss, you call the shots. I won’t ask anymore, alright? Lin Zifeng shook his head with a resigned smile. Since she was paying and he was putting in the work, he decided not to ask further; might as well just quietly make big money.

”Lord Hua, do you feel a strange excitement for your first day of university? Why do I feel like my eyelids keep twitching? Is it possible we’ll meet some hot guys today?”

Liu Tangtang was practically dancing on the dining table, radiating happiness.

”Cut it out. Where are all these hot guys that you’re planning to meet? If there are any, I get first dibs before you do.”

”Ah! Don’t be so domineering, okay, Hua? If you hog all the hot guys, what’s left for me? Waaa, I don’t care, Hua; you have to leave me one, or else I...I...” Liu Tangtang pouted melodramatically.

”Or else you’ll do what?” Hua Buqi laughed.

”Or else I won’t live anymore; I’ll die for you to see!” Liu Tangtang put on an act of righteous indignation, trying to display all her vulnerabilities in front of Huahua—she definitely didn’t act this way in front of Lin Zifeng.

Watching the two girls fawning over their daydreams, Lin Zifeng picked up his unfinished steak and moved aside to eat in peace. Eating with them was utterly awkward.

After dinner, Lin Zifeng was tasked with driving, while the two young ladies took their sweet time upstairs, humming tunes, and took about half an hour to finally come down.

Seeing Lin Zifeng standing in front of the car, impatiently smoking, Liu Tangtang rolled her eyes at him boredly and then mumbled as she followed Hua Buqi sluggishly into the car.

”Where to?” Lin Zifeng asked.

”Zhonghai City Media and Film College Base.” Hua Buqi said all at once, then turned her head away from him, starting to chat with Liu Tangtang inside the car about the past few days. The two probably got into talking about women’s underwear again, chatting away quite happily.

But after waiting for a long time, Lin Zifeng still hadn’t started the car. The guy just sat there in the driver’s seat, not moving a muscle.

”Hey, you beast, what are you doing? Why aren’t you going?” Huahua found his behavior odd.

”I don’t know where to go,” he said helplessly and honestly.

”Didn’t I just tell you? To Zhonghai City Media and Film College Base. Didn’t you hear me?”

”Yeah, I heard that. Didn’t you hear it?” Liu Tangtang joined in the teasing with a laugh.

”Where exactly is the Zhonghai City Media and Film College Base? You didn’t give specific directions, so how would I know how to get there?”

”Of course, to Yunhai University!” both said in unison.

”Cut it out! Just say that earlier. Yunhai University is Yunhai University, so why come up with Zhonghai City Media and Film College Base? Who knows where that bird place is? Just say it straight, and then I can easily navigate,” Lin Zifeng shrugged his shoulders, somewhat speechless at the two of them.

”You!” Little Miss Hua Buqi was also left speechless by the retort.

Half an hour later, Lin Zifeng finally reached Yunhai University. Looking at this century-old prestigious school, he couldn’t help but marvel. It truly was a university for the wealthy, even the architecture of the college was classical, at least two hundred years of history at the minimum.

Watching the girls at the school’s entrance swinging around the roads in their vacuum black stockings on a hot day, Lin Zifeng felt as if his heart was being scratched by a hundred claws.

Ogling the sexy and charming college students flitting before his eyes, especially those things in front of their chests bouncing like water with every move, he really wondered how their teachers managed to keep their composure during class.

”Tsk tsk, your school’s ’scale’ is really not small!” Lin Zifeng stared intently at the chest of a girl who had just passed by, praising with a couple of tsk-tsks.

”Of course! How could the university attended by me, an undefeated youthful beauty, not have some scale? If it didn’t, I wouldn’t bother coming here,” she said. With Liu Tangtang’s sycophantic support, Huahua exited the car with a show of pride.

Lin Zifeng shook his head, thinking to himself: This ’scale’ is not the same ’scale’ we’re talking about.

”You! You’re not allowed to get out!” Hua Buqi pointed at Lin Zifeng inside the car and yelled.

”Why?” Lin Zifeng was frustrated. It was she who asked him to come, and now she was telling him not to get out; what was she playing at?

”You have to wait until I’m five hundred meters away before you can get out. Don’t follow me too closely, or I won’t be able to see any handsome guys,” the little girl pouted, her face flushed with excitement.

”Yes, yes, it’s the first day of the new semester at university; surely there will be many handsome guys. If you follow too closely, you’ll scare them off, and then we won’t be able to hook up with any ’big money’,” Liu Tangtang said. Today, she didn’t wear makeup, her youthful face appearing more pure, much to Lin Zifeng’s puzzlement. If she was already quite pretty without makeup, why bother imitating those out-of-date non-mainstream looks? Those had been popular years before, and even then during Lin Zifeng’s time.

”Are you afraid I’m too handsome and will intimidate those student party guys?” Lin Zifeng smirked, lighting a cigarette against his head.

”Tsch! Shameless!”

Both girls extended their middle fingers disdainfully.

”I’ll call you when school’s out, remember to come pick us up, oh. If you dare to be late, hehe, I think you should know what I’m capable of,” the two girls said, excitedly flapping their wrists.

”Don’t worry, I won’t be late,” Lin Zifeng nodded, then pulled his head back in and continued to smoke his cigarette leisurely.

After the two girls had left, Lin Zifeng, with nothing better to do, leaned back in his seat and enjoyed the parade of beauties swaggering by on the roadside, which wasn’t a bad way to pass the time.

But just as he lit a cigarette and put it in his mouth, the car door was suddenly opened by someone.

Lin Zifeng glanced over instinctively.

”Handsome, waiting for someone?”

A girl with some good looks entered Lin Zifeng’s car, strangely dressed and wearing thick makeup that didn’t suit her age, in a fiery red Korean-style summer outfit that revealed her pale thighs, setting the imagination wild. It was a pity she was too young, and her makeup, typical of that worn by club-going women, gave Lin Zifeng a different kind of nausea.

”Get out,” Lin Zifeng said with a brief glance, his indifferent voice suddenly emerging from his throat.
