Urban All-Round Master

Chapter 288: Chapter 291: Going to be your shield

Chapter 291: Becoming Your Human Shield

A group of clueless guys were hosting a dinner, and the atmosphere in the room was lively.

In order to smoothly resolve the disturbance on the construction site, today’s protagonist, Yu Qing, specifically invited prominent figures from the city to calm the media storm. After all, someone had died, and the media had exposed it; there was no way to face the storm without pulling some strings, given that the eyes of the masses are the hardest to deceive.

”Director Liu, I really need to thank you today. If it weren’t for Director Liu’s help, I think I, Yu, would definitely not be able to handle this lawsuit. Here, let me drink to you as a sign of my gratitude.”

In a lavishly decorated room at the top of the building, a crowd was seated around, with a middle-aged man, holding a wine glass and half-drunk, toasting to the man standing by the door.

”Not at all, not at all. We should really try to avoid incidents like this in the future, especially now that we’re under media scrutiny. If it weren’t for me asking someone higher up to suppress this injury case today, it would probably have reached higher authorities by now, and even if big brother intended to help, he wouldn’t have the capability.”

”Then I must thank you in advance, big brother, if you ever need anything from me in the future, and I, Yu, dare to complain, then punish me...?”

Maybe because he had drunk too much tonight, he couldn’t remember what to say next; he had prepared his lines before the banquet and memorized them perfectly, but unexpectedly, he couldn’t recall them at the critical moment.

”Then punish you how?”

The guests at the banquet seemed to have drunk a bit too much as well and teased him to see what he would say next.

”Just, just punish me by making sure I can’t get any women, just punish my X by getting kicked in!” Yu Qing laughed loudly.

”Who makes declarations like that?” a woman at the banquet whined softly.

”Yeah, Brother Yu, as your big brother, don’t I trust you? Why swear such a venomous oath? Do you really think so little of me?” the middle-aged man said and then went up with his wine glass, and everyone drank merrily, exchanging drinks, with some women accompanying them and occasionally shaking off some droplets of wine.

”You guys keep drinking; I’m going to the restroom first. We’ll continue to drink in a bit.” Yu Qing said and groped a woman’s chest intensely before leaving, savoring the moment.

”Go, go.” The crowd replied nonchalantly.

”Keep drinking, I’ll be back in a minute.” He said and left.

Yu Qing, dizzy from the alcohol, stumbled out of the room leaning against the wall corner, completely unaware of the impending danger.

After all, this building was a joint venture by him and his buddies, relying on some minor connections in Zhonghai City and dubious methods, he had made quite a name for himself.

As soon as he staggered out of the room, suddenly a shadow flashed before his eyes and then a large hand reached out from behind him, grabbed his collar, and ’swooshed’ pulled him out.

”Who are you?”

Yu Qing turned pale with fright; the alcohol he had drunk suddenly turned into cold sweat. When he looked again, he found himself in a dark part of the building outside; it was pitch black, and he couldn’t see his hand in front of his face, and a young man was standing not five meters away, his back towards him!

”Who are you?”

Yu Qing started to panic, retreating several steps to steady his heart.

”Don’t worry about who I am; you just need to know why I came looking for you.” The young man in the dark, dressed all in black, spoke in a hoarse voice, making it impossible to tell whether he was a man or a woman. However, the aura he emitted was distinctly different from ordinary people; the powerful aura felt like an invisible sharp knife slowly destroying Yu Qing’s inner defenses.

”Who the hell are you?” Seeing this unfamiliar man suddenly pull him into darkness, Yu Qing couldn’t contain his panic any longer, his body dripping with cold sweat uncontrollably.

”Never mind who I am, just know why I am here,” the man in black repeated his previous words, his voice icy cold, utterly lifeless.

”I don’t care who the hell you are, if you know what’s good for you, get the fuck out now, or I won’t let you leave Zhonghai City alive.” Yu Qing said coldly, trying to intimidate Lin Zifeng.

”You can try.” Lin Zifeng, with his hands behind his back, slowly approached Yu Qing, but in the dim light, Yu Qing still couldn’t see what he looked like; he just felt a dark shadow getting closer and closer, and each step he took seemed to hammer at his heart.”

Seeing the man in black getting closer, Yu Qing’s eyes darted around, and without thinking, he quickly ran toward the door, hoping to find a chance to call for help.

But the man in black’s figure crossed over five meters in an instant, and a fist hard as steel and iron smashed onto the door. With a bang, Lin Zifeng’s Iron Fist pushed the door handle deep in, and with a swipe, he slapped Yu Qing across the face!

Yu Qing was dazed by the blow, never expecting the man in black to move so fast. His face swelled up instantly, and the pain made him cry out in agony. In his d

state of panic, he hid in a corner, pointing at the man in black and yelled, ”Don’t come any closer! You... don’t come any closer! Do you know who I am? Do you know who my dad is? If you dare to do anything to me, my dad will kill you!”

Lin Zifeng walked right up to Yu Qing, looked down at him emotionlessly, intimidating the timid Yu Qing like a porcupine too scared to lift his head.

He turned into a total coward.

”Originally, I wanted to give you a quick death, but I’ve changed my mind now. Didn’t you say your dad was really tough? Well, I’ll let you live to see your dad, but I want your dad to see a completely different son!”

Whenever he thought of the little boy who lost his father, Lin Zifeng’s heart would ache as if stabbed by a knife, and he could no longer feel any compassion for him.

”What are you trying to do...!” Before Yu Qing could finish, Lin Zifeng swung his arms, lifted the over hundred kilograms of Yu Qing’s body, and then hoisted him up, deftly pulling out two sharp knives and throwing them with force.

A swift ”whoosh whoosh” sound of cutting air suddenly echoed.

Before Yu Qing could even cry out in agony, another knife nailed each of his palms to the wall, and a sudden forceful kick landed on the soft flesh between Yu Qing’s legs...

”Aow...!”

Yu Qing’s howl was like a midnight wolf’s call, a miserable and piercing sound that shattered the quiet of the entire building, similar to a wolf in heat.

Both palms spread and nailed to the wall by Lin Zifeng, his body formed a ’big’ character, and the soft flesh below had already turned into a bloody mess.

Ignoring any of Yu Qing’s screams, Lin Zifeng casually took some money from him and disappeared into the night.

By the time Yu Qing’s screams garnered everyone’s attention, it was already too late, because the vows he had just sworn at the banquet had been fulfilled, the X below had been kicked into a pulp...

With the money taken from Yu Qing, Lin Zifeng returned to the little boy’s home. He did not go inside, but silently placed the money in the little boy’s arms, sighed heavily, and left desolately... That was all he could do.

When the sun rose again the next day, Lin Zifeng maintained his usual habits, did a set of fitness punches in his room, and then went down early for breakfast.

Seeing Nangong Bing, Huahua, and the annoying Liu Tangtang three people gathered around the table eating breakfast, Lin Zifeng’s forehead suddenly became clouded with anger.

He hadn’t resolved his issue with Nangong Bing yet, and now he had bumped into them again, and this time it was all three of them, which was really too much for Lin Zifeng to handle.

”Morning everyone!”

Lin Zifeng greeted them with a smile.

”Morning? The sun’s already burning our butts off,” Huahua said indifferently, rolling her eyes.

Nangong Bing, expressionless at the dining table, didn’t even glance at Lin Zifeng, and even the little devil Liu Tangtang, playing along beside Huahua, insinuated, ”This uncle must have gone out to harass some young girl last night, definitely, otherwise why would he just be getting up now.”

Lin Zifeng looked at his watch—it was just ten in the morning, was that really considered late?

”I’m full, you guys eat slowly.” Suddenly, Nangong Bing stood up, wiped her mouth with a napkin, and then turned and walked away.

Seeing Nangong Bing stand and leave indifferently, Lin Zifeng shrugged his shoulders, said nothing, and simply pretended as if nothing was wrong.

Just as he took a big bite of his steak, Nangong Bing, who was about to go upstairs, suddenly stopped, turned her head slightly, and said indifferently to Lin Zifeng, ”Lin Zifeng, come out with me this afternoon,” and then strode lightly upstairs.

”Uh...?”

The three at the table were all stunned. It was rare for Nangong Bing to take the initiative to speak to him, and to do so with such a gentle tone—was she asking me? Lin Zifeng felt secretly pleased.

Even Huahua, who was still puzzled, was a bit shocked, thinking: What’s with my cousin? How could she possibly invite this brute? Could something have really happened between them last night?

”Wow, Nangong Sister actually invited you? I wish they’d take their relationship further so I could watch,” Liu Tangtang spoke, seemingly wishing for chaos.

Lin Zifeng continued to eat his breakfast silently, acting as if he were unconcerned about anything.

”Hey, beast, are you free today?”

Seeing Lin Zifeng continuing to devour the food on the table, Huahua unusually initiated a conversation with him.

”What’s up?” Lin Zifeng, still not looking up, asked indifferently.

”Come with me to school later, we’ll be back soon.” Huahua commanded in a strong tone.

”You need to give me a reason, don’t you? I have things to do too,” he replied.

”You’ll be my shield,” Hua Buqi said calmly.
