Chapter 280: You from the Stars

That was what they said when Lin Zifeng wasn’t around, had he been present to hear such targeted remarks, it’s hard to say what Lin Zifeng’s reaction would have been.

About ten minutes or so after the two girls played in the grand and lavish hall, Lin Zifeng finally came out slowly carrying a large bowl of steaming hot food.

Seeing Lin Zifeng actually produce a large bowl of something that was rather questionable in edibility, Hua Buqi’s expression changed slightly. Smelling the faint aroma, she started to doubt, could this guy really cook?

If she were to compare herself, she was practically a kitchen illiterate, nearly clueless about cooking. Let her eat, and she was fine, but if she had to learn cooking, it would undoubtedly be harder than killing her. Besides, given her family background, she’d hardly ever need to do such nonsensical tasks in her life; just by opening her mouth, food would naturally be delivered to her. That was the advantage of a rich girl, not something the average person could enjoy.

Watching Lin Zifeng really bring over a bowl full of fragrant food, Liu Tangtang was also stunned. What was originally a teasing comment had led to this guy actually making her a big bowl of food in the kitchen.

”Hmm, it smells so good...!”

Liu Tangtang closed her eyes and took a deep sniff; and sure enough, the dish made by this top-notch uncle could indeed be described as aromatic. It was just unclear what the outcome would be when they actually tasted it.

”Giggle, who would’ve thought, you really can cook, huh?” the soft girl Liu Tangtang said with her hands clasped behind her back, her face glowing with a ruddy smile, her V-neck ’evil weapon’ swaying brazenly in front of Lin Zifeng, stirring in him a momentary impulse of heat. He quickly quashed the unseemly thoughts in his mind.

If this girl didn’t wear such heavy makeup, she’d definitely be considered a beauty in the making. Lin Zifeng had never been much interested in women who wore makeup, especially such young girls – he really had very little interest in them.

Hunting beauties in a nightclub was one thing, since the women there used makeup to present a more flirtatious and enchanting side. But who would bother with heavy makeup on a regular day?

”Just a modest attempt, a modest attempt,” Lin Zifeng chuckled.

He was being modest, but Liu Tangtang took him seriously.

She thought Lin Zifeng was just putting on airs, pretending to be profound and playing it cool. She, Liu Tangtang, had long been tired of such tricks.

It seemed this top-notch uncle wasn’t completely useless after all; he did have his good points.

At least the cooking was truly making her mouth water.

”What modest attempt, if it’s good, it’s good. No need to play it down or be so humble, alright, uncle?”

”Uh, if you like it, that’s all that matters.”

Lin Zifeng was first taken aback, then eventually held back, a fleeting trace of slyness passing through his sharp and radiant eyes.

”Quick, quick, quick, open the bowl, I’m already starving. Let me taste what it’s really like,” Liu Tangtang couldn’t wait, hastily shaking off her hand and running to the kitchen to wash it, then hurrying back. She eagerly picked up her chopsticks, eyeing the food with anticipation.

Huahua, sitting beside the sofa, was already well aware of Lin Zifeng’s top-notch tricks, so she didn’t move. Instead, she kept a watchful stance, heaven knows what sort of tricks this beast would play next.

Moreover, the tone between the two of them had obviously clashed just now, so she wouldn’t eat Lin Zifeng’s food. Even if she were to eat, she would require Lin Zifeng to beg her like a servant, utterly pleading for her approval. Otherwise, she wouldn’t give him the time of day.

With this in mind, Huahua put on even more airs. Thinking of last night’s incident with her cousin, she felt an indescribable sensation, a feeling she couldn’t put into words; just seeing him made her inexplicably angry and uncomfortable.

Therefore, she got up and feigned anger, ”Tangtang, I’m going upstairs.”

She had thought that Tangtang would follow her upstairs, but little did she know that Liu Tangtang’s attention was completely captivated by Lin Zifeng’s ’delicious dish’. She completely ignored Huahua’s words, responding instinctively, then fixed her gaze unwaveringly on the white porcelain big bowl on the table. Judging by the appearance of that porcelain bowl, it resembled the Buddha Jumps Wall she had eaten before. Just the outer appearance of the porcelain bowl, hinting at the fragrant delicacy inside, was enough to stir boundless imagination.

Seeing that Tangtang hadn’t followed her, the young miss Hua Buqi stamped her foot in frustration, thinking: You foodie, you just know eat eat eat all day long; aside from ogling handsome guys, all you know is eat eat eat.

”Oppa, what’s the name of this dish? Can you first tell me its characteristics and then let me guess what delicacy is inside?”

Liu Tangtang’s face, flushed with excitement, seemed to be filled with curiosity and anticipation for the contents of the porcelain bowl.

Unfortunately, Lin Zifeng was secretly grumbling to himself.

It was just a simple bowl of fried rice; was there really a need for such mystery? Girls from the city are so hard to please; even a plate of egg fried rice had to be so elaborate.

Watching Liu Tangtang full of anticipation, Lin Zifeng genuinely didn’t want to spoil her mood.

It would be wrong to douse her high spirits with a bucket of cold water at such a moment; if he angered this girl, who knew what earth-shattering thing she might do.

”Hmm... just smelling it is so fragrant, and it’s even served in such fine porcelain. Inside must be some sort of delicacy from the mountains and sea, right, Oppa?”

Liu Tangtang looked at Lin Zifeng with a smile, her face one of calm serenity.

Lin Zifeng was slightly taken aback and asked in confusion, ”What’s ’Oppa’?”

”Jeez, how can you be so out of touch? Don’t you even know what ’Oppa’ means? Have you not seen the TV series ’My Love From the Star’ recently?”

Tangtang looked at him with disdain. It’s almost the 22nd century, how could he be so old-fashioned? In today’s world, where Korean dramas are ubiquitous, he didn’t even know the term ’Oppa’. Could he be from Mars?

”I really don’t know what that means, and besides, look at how old I am, Uncle here doesn’t understand this terminology you’re using, let alone something about stars and you,” Lin Zifeng said with a smile, puffing on his cigarette.

”Uncle, you’re so out of touch. Don’t you know what ’Oppa’ is? ’Oppa’ is a Korean phrase, translated to Chinese it means ’brother’. I’ve already called you ’brother’, do you still not understand? Do you really want me to call you ’Uncle’?”

In Liu Tangtang’s view, Lin Zifeng wasn’t old at all; he didn’t give off an ’uncle’ vibe. On the contrary, he fit the image of the boy-next-door. Although his manner of speaking was sometimes frivolous, he still made a good impression. At the very least, when this guy smiled, he indeed looked quite handsome.
