After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 734: Chapter 738: Jiao Yang’s Invitation [7]

Jiao Yang, Jiao Yang, what am I supposed to do with you?

She already had Leng Zimo; she couldn’t provoke Jiao Yang any further.

”I’m sorry.”

She whispered in her heart and, gritting her teeth, made up her mind to keep her distance from Jiao Yang as much as possible in the future.

Because she knew very well that getting any closer to him would only hurt him more.

Thus, over the next few days, Luo Xiaoqian didn’t visit the hospital. Every day, she would only call Shen Yizhou to check on Jiao Yang’s condition.

Three days later, when she made another call, Shen Yizhou told her that Jiao Yang had been discharged.

”He was so badly injured; how could he be discharged after just three days?”

”Because he had a jacket on, the scald, although extensive, isn’t actually that severe. He’ll recover as long as he persists in changing his dressing once a day. He should be fully healed within a week, so there’s no need to stay in the hospital,” Shen Yizhou explained.

”I see, well, thank you, Yizhou.”

After hanging up, Luo Xiaoqian placed the phone on the table. The door to the bedroom was open, and Leng Zimo walked in carrying a tray with a clay pot filled with soup and a small bowl.

”Come, have some soup.” After placing the tray on the table, Leng Zimo served her a small bowl with a smile, pushing it towards her, ”Aunt Su has simmered this free-range chicken soup for several hours; it’s very nourishing.”

Luo Xiaoqian took the soup, and he sat beside her, ”Jiao Yang just called me, inviting me over to his place for dinner.”

”Did you accept?” Luo Xiaoqian asked immediately, her face tensing up.

”No, I said I’d have to see if you were free.” Leng Zimo reached over to tuck a stray strand of hair behind her ear, ”Do you want to go?”

”I...” Luo Xiaoqian held the soup, ”I don’t know, Zimo, Jiao Yang, he...”

”I know, he likes you,” Leng Zimo said.

Luo Xiaoqian was startled; he knew as well?

Before she could say anything more, her phone began to ring. Leng Zimo picked up the phone, glanced at the screen, and handed it to her. The name Jiao Yang was particularly conspicuous on the display.

Putting down the soup bowl, Luo Xiaoqian hesitated but ended up answering the call.

”Jiao Yang?”

”This weekend, Tongtong is going to make hotpot for me. You and Zimo should join us...”

”I might not have...”

Jiao Yang cut her off, ”Don’t forget to bring a gift, it’s my birthday. Okay, eight in the evening, my place, no excuses.”

Without giving her a chance to refuse, Jiao Yang had hung up.

Luo Xiaoqian lowered her phone and sighed, ”Zimo, what should I do?”

Taking the phone from her hand, Leng Zimo returned the soup bowl to her grasp, ”Give him some time; you should know it’s hard.”

Luo Xiaoqian took the soup bowl and after thinking for a bit, nodded gently, ”Are you free this weekend?”

”Don’t worry, I’ll come with you!” Leng Zimo reassured her, patting her head gently, ”Stop worrying, have your soup.”

...

...

In the blink of an eye, the weekend arrived.

Although she wanted to buy Jiao Yang a gift, after much deliberation, she decided not to. Instead, she ordered a cake, and Leng Zimo brought two bottles of wine, and together, they drove to Jiao Yang’s Riverside Fragrant Mansion.

With Leng Zimo carrying the items, she ascended the steps and rang the doorbell.

”You’re here!”

Footsteps sounded from inside; after a moment, the door was pulled open, and Tongtong greeted them with a smile, helping them into the house.
