After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 711: Chapter 715 The So-Called Friends [2]

”She regained consciousness not long after you left. I asked her attending physician later, and her physical condition is still quite good, suffering damage only to her face, neck, and arms, without harm to any vital internal organs. It seems that she should be able to stabilize within about a week,” Shen Yizhou’s expression was not optimistic, ”Now, all she needs to get through is the psychological barrier.”

Tong Ya sighed, ”Xu Pei has such a strong personality; this hurdle may be tough for her to overcome.”

”Regardless, she has to face these things on her own,” Qin Lan stood up, ”Everyone didn’t get much rest last night; go take a break in the guest rooms upstairs for a while. I am going to check on Ruoruo.”

Everyone understood that he made sense, so they got up and headed upstairs to rest.

Shen Yizhou took out his phone to call his assistant back home to arrange everything that Leng Lin would need for his preparations.

That evening, several people visited Xu Pei at the hospital again; her spirits had improved quite a bit, but her emotional state remained very low.

When she heard that everyone was coming to visit, she outright refused them.

The nurse, having no choice, conveyed her wishes to everyone. They could only glance at her through the window before leaving the hospital.

The next day, as planned, everyone returned home.

By then, Leng Family Father and Son and Luo Xiaoqian, who had left a day earlier, had already returned to Beijing. They had taken Leng Lin back to the hospital, and at Shen Yizhou’s instruction, his assistant immediately conducted a thorough examination of Leng Lin and began the preliminary preparations for the puncture test.

...

...

After 24 hours of preparation, a day later than the original plan, the puncture surgery officially began preparations.

Early in the morning when Leng Zimo arrived at the hospital with Luo Xiaoqian, Leng Zirui and Shen Yizhou were already in the ward.

”Guess what I brought for you?” Luo Xiaoqian proudly held up a thermos, ”Aunt Su specially made you chicken soup, but you can’t have it now. You have to wait for Dr. Shen’s approval.”

”You’re deliberately tempting me, aren’t you?” Leng Lin smiled.

Although the surgery was imminent, he did not seem nervous at all.

”Alright, it’s about time,” Shen Yizhou looked at his watch, ”I’ll go get ready. Uncle Leng, we’ll meet outside the operating room later. Zimo, come with me to sign some paperwork.”

Following him to the office, Leng Zimo hesitated when Shen Yizhou handed him the surgical notice. He then picked up a pen from the desk.

”Don’t worry, I’m performing the operation. There won’t be any problems!” Shen Yizhou reassured him with a pat on the shoulder, ”Have a good chat with him later, relax his mind. I can tell Uncle Leng is somewhat nervous.”

Leng Zimo raised an eyebrow, ”He came through a hail of bullets, and he’s afraid of your knife?”

Shen Yizhou shrugged, ”I think he’s not nervous about the knife, but about the results after the knife.”

His gaze falling on the family member’s signature space, Leng Zimo looked up at Shen Yizhou, ”Yizhou, tell me, what’s the likelihood of a bad outcome?”

Wouldn’t he be nervous when his father was?

He had never hesitated like this when signing contracts worth billions.

”That, no one can tell you. We can only pray for the best outcome,” Shen Yizhou said, holding the corner of the surgery notice, ”Sign it!”

Leng Zimo frowned slightly and lifted his pen to sign his name.
