After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 706: Chapter 710: There is a Weakness Called Love! [2]

The next morning, after making simple preparations, Leng Zimo immediately took Luo Xiaoqian, Leng Lin, and Xiao Liu to head to the airport.

The itinerary had always been set this way, and he hadn’t changed it because of Xu Pei’s affairs.

The butler drove, and the car slowly made its way towards Marseille Airport.

Luo Xiaoqian cautiously glanced at Leng Zimo’s expression, ”Can I give Ruoruo a call to say goodbye?”

”Sure,” Leng Zimo knew what she was thinking, yet he still couldn’t bring himself to refuse.

Taking out her phone, Luo Xiaoqian dialed Huangfu Ruo’s number and called.

After a while, the call connected.

”Ruoruo, it’s Qian. We’re on our way to the airport and will be heading back home soon. I... just wanted to say goodbye to you.”

”I’m sorry, Xiao Qian, I can’t come to the airport to see you off.”

”It’s okay, just remember to catch a penguin for me to bring back when you go to the Arctic,” she said.

”Penguins are from the Antarctic, not the Arctic. The Arctic only has polar bears,” Huangfu Ruo corrected her.

”Then bring me a polar bear...”

On the other end of the phone, Huangfu Ruo laughed softly, ”Xiao Qian, don’t worry, she... she has passed the critical period.”

Luo Xiaoqian paused for two seconds, then continued to laugh, ”Great, then you have to remember to catch a little polar bear for me, okay!”

Inside the car, the Leng Family father and son listened to her conversation without saying a word.

As clever as they were, they both clearly understood that Luo Xiaoqian’s call was nothing but an excuse, and what she truly wanted was to get news about Xu Pei.

After chatting briefly with Huangfu Ruo, Luo Xiaoqian hung up the phone.

Putting her phone back in her bag, she didn’t say anything, but from the smile on her face, both men had already figured out the outcome for Xu Pei.

”Zimo, did you hear that? Ruoruo promised to catch a polar bear for me. You have to help me buy a big freezer, so I can keep it for raising the little bear,” she hugged Leng Zimo’s arm and joked like a child.

”Okay!” Leng Zimo smiled and agreed, ”As long as she can catch one for you, I’ll build an ice storage for you to raise your bear.”

”You said it, a promise is a promise.”

”A promise is a promise.”

Leng Lin sat aside, listening to their playful banter. His mood also lightened considerably, and a faint smile appeared on his face.

Soon, the car arrived at Marseille Airport. After passing through a special channel, they walked into the airport, and the butler personally saw them onto the plane. Leng Zimo then gave him a few brief instructions.

Moments later, after the plane requested takeoff and received the airport’s permission, it took off on schedule, heading back to Beijing.

Marseille Hospital.

Huangfu Ruo hung up the phone, ”It was Xiao Qian. She must be worried about Sister Xu Pei, so she called, but she must have been afraid of bothering Brother Zimo, so she didn’t dare to ask directly.”

”This poor child!” Tong Ya sighed, looking at Xu Pei who had passed the critical stage inside the window, ”I hope that this time, she can learn from her previous lessons, turn over a new leaf, otherwise, we really won’t have the face to meet Xiao Qian.”

The few people around remained silent.

”Ruoruo!” Huangfu Ruo walked back from a distance after finishing the call, ”Now that Xu Pei has passed the critical period, you and Qin Lan should head back. Don’t let this incident affect your honeymoon trip.”

”Right!” Shen Yizhou took off his glasses and rubbed the bridge of his nose, ”You two just go enjoy the Arctic. She’s already out of danger now, and neither of you are doctors, so staying won’t be much help. Once her condition is stable, we’ll find a way to transfer her back to the country for treatment.”
