After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 709: Chapter 713: A Sense of Gloom [3]

Tong Ya hurriedly said, ”What are you talking about nonsense, the past is the past, don’t think too much right now, the most important thing is to heal your wounds.”

”Right, Sister Xu Pei, you mustn’t think too much, you know Brother Zimo’s temper isn’t unknown to you, he was just angry at the time, remember when I was little, once I wet his manuscript? The way he looked then, as if he wanted to kill me, but later, when I had a stomachache, didn’t he still carry me on his back all the way to the hospital?” Huangfu Ruo said with a smile to comfort her, ”Once he cools down, it will be all right.”

Now, Xu Pei’s mood was very important for her treatment, after all, physical injuries could be healed, but wounds to the heart were harder to cure.

If she didn’t maintain a good mindset, she couldn’t accept the extent of her injuries.

Xu Pei knew that everyone was trying to comfort her; she just shut her mouth, not saying anything further.

Seeing that she was in a bad mood, Huangfu Ruo tried to brighten the atmosphere, ”By the way, have you seen this dress I’m wearing? Isn’t it beautiful?”

Xu Pei turned her face to look at the beautiful dress on her, ”Yes, very beautiful.”

Her gaze swept past Huangfu Ruo’s figure, saw the metal pole with the IV bag beside her, and saw her own reflection in it, her expression changing suddenly.

”My face... What’s happened to my face?”

Although she had felt gauze on her face before, she had assumed it was from the car accident and hadn’t thought too much about it.

Seeing her reflection on the metal pole, her whole head, face, and neck were all wrapped in gauze, only her eyes and lips exposed, her emotions suddenly surged.

”It’s nothing, just... just some minor injuries on your face, the doctor wrapped it to prevent infection!”

”Xu Pei, don’t get agitated, your face really is fine...”

...

Several people were busy comforting her.

”You’re lying to me, all of you are lying to me,” Xu Pei yelled agitatedly, not able to hear the others’ attempts at consolation, ”Give me a mirror, a mirror, I want a mirror...”

Tong Ya kept trying to calm her down, ”Xu Pei, calm down a bit, where is there a mirror here? Don’t worry, your face really just has some minor injuries, it’s nothing serious.”

”Liars, all of you are liars... I remember very clearly, there was a fire, a fire, my face, it hurts so much, so much...” Xu Pei flailed her palms with great force, ”Get out, all of you get out... I don’t want to see any of you...”

The more they tried to comfort her, the clearer it became to her that her injuries must be very severe.

Her face, it must be ruined, ruined!

Once someone who was so proud, how could she accept such a reality.

”Let’s all go outside for now,” Shen Yizhou said, looking at the completely out-of-control Xu Pei, he supported Tong Ya who still wanted to comfort her further, ”Let’s go!”

Across the room, Qin Lan took Huangfu Ruo away, and Shen Yizhou pulled Tong Ya out of the ward as well.

The nurses outside hurried into the room, held down Xu Pei, and added a dose of sedative to her medication.

Such agitated emotions would only affect her wounds, making recovery even more difficult. Calming her down was for her own good.

”Close the Louvered Window, close the Louvered Window, close... the window...”

Xu Pei’s struggles gradually diminished, she closed her eyes, and fell back into sleep.

”Sister Xu Pei!”

Through the glass, Huangfu Ruo saw her condition and couldn’t help but burst into tears in Qin Lan’s arms.

The nurse walked over, pulled down the Louvered Window, and left the ward.

”The patient is very emotionally unstable, it’s best if you all go back for now.”
