After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 718: Chapter 722 Good News and Bad News [4]

After the meal, everyone sat on the couch and chatted for a while until Shen Yizhou and Tong Ya stood up to take their leave, with the Leng Zi Brothers and Luo Xiaoqian accompanying them to the door.

”Yizhou, is my dad’s illness really nothing serious?”

Once he had asked Aunt Su and Xiao Liu to head back first, Leng Zimo asked again.

”That’s right, Brother Yizhou, you better not be in cahoots with the old man and deceive us!” Leng Zirui said as well.

”Dare I? My old bones surely can’t beat you guys,” teased Shen Yizhou before becoming serious again, ”Currently, the situation isn’t too serious, but you must pay attention to his diet and his mood is also very important. The kidneys are vital organs and can easily cause a series of complications. Uncle Leng’s blood pressure is still quite high, so you must absolutely not allow him to be subjected to any major shocks.”

”Okay!”

The two brothers promised earnestly.

”Also, have Xiao Liu go to internal medicine on Monday to get medicine from Director Song; don’t forget,” he reminded them, then Shen Yizhou and Tong Ya got into their respective cars, waved goodbye to everyone, and left the Leng Family Mansion.

Watching the car that carried the two slowly moving away, Leng Zimo lifted his arms to embrace Luo Xiaoqian, intending to take her back to their room.

”Hey, don’t forget your promise to me, one month, one month, okay!” Leng Zirui reminded from behind them.

With a faint expression on his face, Leng Zimo said, ”Go cool off somewhere else!”

Smiling, Leng Zirui jumped into his car and left the estate as well.

”What’s that about?” Luo Xiaoqian asked curiously.

”I promised Zirui that within a month, I would hold our wedding,” Leng Zimo said, lifting his hands to cradle her face, ”Although time is tight, trust me, I’ll work hard to prepare for the best.”

Although Father Leng’s illness had stabilized, the baby in her belly was growing larger day by day, and it was indeed time for them to have their wedding.

Luo Xiaoqian smiled, ”I believe!”

No matter to what extent he prepared, in her heart, their wedding would be the best.

Hospital 304.

Facial Burn Department, inpatient area.

Inside the VIP ward, Xu Pei sat on the hospital bed, gazing out of the window at the sunshine.

Ever since the car accident, except for the plane ride, she had always been confined to her hospital room without going out.

Her face was fully wrapped in gauze, obscuring any expression, but her eyes betrayed a sense of despair and confusion.

”Xu Pei!” The door opened, and Tong Ya walked in with a smile, carrying a food container, ”Look what I’ve brought for you. Authentic Old Beijing breakfast, freshly ground soymilk and deep-fried dough sticks. Come on, let’s eat!”

Tong Ya set the items on the table, started to take out the utensils, but Xu Pei remained motionless on the bed, ”I don’t want to eat.”

”Man needs food as the plow needs the land. How can you not eat?” Tong Ya served a small bowl of soymilk, ”Come on, have some soymilk. It’ll give you strength for the doctor’s checkup later. Let’s get better and discharged as soon as possible. Come on, be good, drink a little...”

Xu Pei turned her face away, ”I can have my gauze removed today, right?”

”Yes.” Tong Ya handed her the bowl and then took her hand, ”Here, hold this!”

Noticing the burn marks on her hand, Xu Pei quickly withdrew it, ”I really don’t feel like drinking.”

”Shall we try some deep-fried dough sticks then?” Tong Ya put down the bowl and turned to grab some.

”Why did you remove all the mirrors?” Xu Pei suddenly asked.

Tong Ya paused, then feigned ignorance, ”What are you talking about?”
