After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 716: Chapter 720 Good News and Bad News [2]

”I’d like to hear the good news first,” Luo Xiaoqian said.

”Oh yeah!” Leng Zirui winked proudly at Leng Zimo, ”Two to one, you lost. Come on, Brother Yizhou, spill it.”

”Okay, here it is!,” Shen Yizhou took the lab report from Tong Ya, ”The good news is that the lab results show that there are indeed some necrotic cells in Uncle Leng’s kidneys, but it’s just mild atrophy, and the situation is not very serious—it’s still within a controllable range.”

Everyone listening showed signs of joy on their faces.

”What about the bad news?” Leng Zimo asked.

Apart from Leng Lin, he was the only one in the room not smiling.

”This bad news isn’t really bad news, you might even say it’s bad news for Uncle Leng, but for you all, it might still be good news!” Shen Yizhou moved closer to Leng Lin, ”Uncle Leng, considering your kidneys have already sustained not insignificant damage, I, as a doctor, command you that for the sake of your health, for Zimo, Zirui, and Xiao Qian, as well as Xiao Qian’s unborn grandson in her belly, you must give up drinking. I have collaborated with the internal medicine doctors at the hospital to formulate a treatment plan based on your condition. To ensure the effectiveness of the treatment, you must comply with my treatment, take medicine on time, and get hospital check-ups periodically so we can keep an eye on the progress of your condition.”

All eyes in the room turned to Leng Lin; scanning the group, he nodded solemnly.

”Okay, I promise!”

”That’s great!” Aunt Su wiped her eyes with the back of her hand, ”Tonight, we will make dumplings. Doctor Shen, Miss Tong, you both stay and join us for dumplings.”

Because of Leng Lin’s illness, though everyone had managed to keep up appearances over the week, they all had felt a heavy weight on their hearts. Now with relatively good news at hand, they naturally felt joyous.

”Sure, I’ve been in Italy for so long, I really haven’t had dumplings in a while,” Tong Ya also got up, ”I’ll help you make them.”

”You sit down!” Leng Zimo stood up and stopped her, ”I’ll make them.”

”I’ll go with you,” Luo Xiaoqian also stood up from the sofa.

Pushing her back down onto the sofa by her shoulders, Leng Zimo undid his shirt buttons and rolled up his sleeves, ”Today, I’m making the dumplings. None of you are allowed to fight me for it, otherwise...”

”Otherwise you’ll sever ties with us, right?” Leng Zirui curled his lip, ”Go on, make your dumplings. You’re such an adult acting like a child, talking about ending friendships. I dare you to end it with my sister-in-law!”

Everyone laughed out loud. Leng Zimo glanced at him sidelong and also smiled. Then he headed to the kitchen with Aunt Su and Xiao Liu to make dumplings for everyone.

Leng Zirui came over and sat next to Tong Ya, ”Sister Tongya, did you come back alone?”

”You all sit, I’ll go and see if Zimo and the others need help,” Luo Xiaoqian knew he wanted to inquire about Xu Pei, got up, and also entered the kitchen.

Tong Ya watched Luo Xiaoqian disappear into the kitchen, then spoke softly, ”Xu Pei’s condition has stabilized, and now mainly some wound healing is left to do. Yizhou has connected with the doctors at the 304 Hospital through her. I came back with her, and we rushed over here right after sorting out her transfer procedures.”

Shen Yizhou took over the conversation, ”The 304 Hospital is also a military-affiliated hospital and is one of the best hospitals for burn treatment in Beijing. A friend of mine, Lin Zhi, is mainly in charge of facial reconstruction there. I had already told her about Xu Pei’s situation before, and she will provide the best treatment plan for her. You don’t have to worry too much.”
