After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 733: Chapter 737: Luo Xiaoqian’s Discovery [6]

Luo Xiaoqian looked out the door at Jiao Yang, slowly putting on his hospital gown, feeling nothing but a heat around her eyes.

He was injured trying to protect her, yet he kept his injuries hidden from her all this time. The only reason Jiao Yang did this was to keep her from worrying.

What had she done to deserve such consideration?

”Xiao Qian?” Tongtong, who had hurried over with breakfast, saw Luo Xiaoqian standing outside the dressing room and immediately walked over with a smile, ”What are you doing here?”

”Ah, I... I just came to check on him.” Luo Xiaoqian managed her emotions and turned to face her, seeing the thermal container in Tongtong’s hands, she instinctively hid her own container behind her back, ”Since you’re here to take care of Jiao Yang, I’ll get going...”

She had just taken a step to leave when the door to the dressing room was opened by someone.

As Jiao Yang came out from the dressing room, his gaze landed on the thermal container half-hidden behind her, ”Is that breakfast for me?”

”Oh, yes, it’s from Aunt Su. Aunt Su said it’s best to eat something detoxifying for a burn, so she made some lily porridge for me to bring over.” Luo Xiaoqian forced a smile at him, ”But since Xiao Tong has already prepared your breakfast, I’ll take this with me. You rest well.”

She was about to walk away when her wrist was suddenly caught by a warm hand.

”I’d like to have some.”

The voice of Jiao Yang echoed in her ear.

”Then... okay.” Luo Xiaoqian pulled her wrist out of his grasp and hurriedly took two steps forward, handing the thermal container to Tongtong, ”Tongtong, you take this for him, Gao Jie and the others are waiting for me downstairs, I need to go.”

Without another glance at Jiao Yang, she hurried away, her figure quickly disappearing around the corner of the corridor.

Jiao Yang watched her receding figure, looked down at his empty right hand, and his brow slightly furrowed.

”When did she get here?”

”I don’t know, she was already here by the time I came over.” Tongtong said.

”SHIT!” Jiao Yang cursed softly.

No wonder her mood was off; she must have seen the wound on his body.

”Are you feeling any better?” Tongtong approached him with a smile, holding up a large paper bag as if presenting a treasure, ”I bought you porridge, buns, fried dough sticks, soy milk, milk, and sandwiches... you can have Chinese or Western breakfast, and oh, there’s coffee too, you know?”

Jiao Yang didn’t even glance at the paper bag in her hand but reached out to take the lily porridge Luo Xiaoqian had brought from her other hand and walked toward his ward.

Tongtong, annoyed, bit her lip, and after a moment, forced a smile again and followed.

Downstairs, Luo Xiaoqian sat in the back seat of the Mercedes-Benz and finally took off her sunglasses and baseball cap.

”Let’s go.”

Sitting beside her, Yu Tong put down the folder she was holding, ”You look pale, are you not feeling well?”

”It’s nothing, probably just didn’t sleep well last night. I’ll feel better after I rest a bit.” Luo Xiaoqian leaned back in the seat and closed her eyes.

In her mind, however, the scene from last night flashed before her again: Jiao Yang unconditionally shielding her and the terrible burn on his body.

...

I know I was a jerk in the past, but I truly like you, Xiao Qian, no other woman has ever made me feel such heart-wrenching concern...

...

Once again, Jiao Yang’s words from his villa rang in her ears, and Luo Xiaoqian felt a wave of headache.

When she saw Tongtong, she thought Jiao Yang really liked someone else, but his behavior last night didn’t seem to indicate that at all.

Jiao Yang, oh Jiao Yang, what am I supposed to do with you?!
