After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 729: Chapter 733 A Small Dish [2]

Jiao Yang raised his hand towards the shirt that was passed to him, ”No need, I can do it myself...”

”Lift your arm!” Leng Zimo’s voice turned forceful.

”Do you always boss Xiao Qian around like this?”

Despite his teasing words, Jiao Yang still extended his arm, and Leng Zimo carefully slipped the shirt onto him. Leng Zimo was more muscular than Jiao Yang, so the shirt looked a bit too large on him, but it was just loose enough to avoid pressing too tightly against the burn.

Even though Leng Zimo was very gentle, it was inevitable that the fabric would brush against the burn while buttoning the shirt. Jiao Yang’s face tensed with pain, and his right hand, which was resting on the sink, tightened its grip. Leng Zimo helped him put on his suit jacket very lightly, standing behind him, watching in the mirror as his face clearly showed he was enduring the pain.

”Thanks.”

Jiao Yang tugged at the corners of his lips, ”Let’s go!”

As soon as the two of them came out, Luo Xiaoqian immediately approached them, ”Is it serious?”

Jiao Yang lifted his face and smiled at her, ”Just a trifle!”

Luo Xiaoqian corrected him with some resignation, ”It’s ’a trivial matter’!”

”Oh, sorry, I got it wrong again.” Jiao Yang laughed, even though his back was burning with pain, he laughed as if nothing was wrong.

”Yizhou has gone to get the car. I’ll take him to the hospital. You stay here, wait for the party to end, then go home with Zirui and wait for me,” Leng Zimo said, carefully holding the tail of Jiao Yang’s suit jacket with one hand, trying not to let the clothes put too much pressure on Jiao Yang.

Leng Zimo was well aware that Jiao Yang was putting on an act in front of Luo Xiaoqian, and since he was working so hard at it, Leng Zimo couldn’t expose him.

”Jiao Yang?!”

At this moment, Tongtong and Tong Ya also walked into the restroom.

”It’s fine, let Tongtong accompany me, and both of you stay. This is an engagement party, what kind of scene would it be if the male lead leaves!” Jiao Yang raised his hand and moved Leng Zimo’s palm away, ”Tongtong, let’s go, you come with me to the hospital for a check-up!”

”Jiao Yang?!” Luo Xiaoqian and Leng Zimo advanced towards him simultaneously.

Tong Ya stopped the two of them, ”Let me go instead. You two take care of the banquet, and I’ll call you if anything comes up.”

She hurriedly exited the restroom, chasing in the direction of the elevator.

”Is he really okay?” Luo Xiaoqian looked at Leng Zimo with some concern.

”Don’t worry about it!” Leng Zimo comforted her by gently touching her hair, ”Let’s take care of the banquet first, and we’ll all go see him after it’s over.”

Although Luo Xiaoqian couldn’t stop worrying about Jiao Yang, as the female lead, it really wouldn’t be right for her to leave, so she had no choice but to go out with Leng Zimo and continue to deal with the guests.

Fortunately, they were all very familiar relatives and friends who simply sat for a while and left after finishing their meals.

After instructing Qin Lan and Huangfu Ruo to take Xu Xia home and asking Xiao Liu to send Leng Lin home, leaving Ailin to handle the accounts and other matters, Leng Zimo, who had been drinking and couldn’t drive, had Leng Zirui drive him and Luo Xiaoqian to the hospital to visit Jiao Yang.

The three of them left in a hurry and didn’t notice that not far from the hotel entrance, another car with its lights off had two people sitting in it.

”Can we go now?”

Sitting in the driver’s seat, Tang Ming asked softly.

In the back seat, Xu Pei was huddled up in a corner of the car compartment, wearing a baseball cap, sunglasses, a face mask... almost completely hiding her face.

Watching the car that Leng Zimo was in disappear into the traffic, no longer visible, she finally spoke softly.

”Let’s go!”
