After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 710: Chapter 714 The So-Called Friends [1]

Shen Yizhou comforted Tong Ya as he supported her shoulder, ”Then let’s head back first, and when Zirui and Huangfu return tonight, we can all discuss it together.”

Although everyone felt sad, they knew that staying in the hospital was of no help at this time, so they reluctantly returned to the ancient castle.

After taking a simple bath and changing clothes, the maids had prepared lunch. However, none of them had much of an appetite. Only Ruoruo, worried about the baby not getting enough nutrition, forced herself to eat, chewing on food while she lamented.

”Sister Xu Pei... how pitiful!”

”Eat up,” Qin Lan consoled her, patting her hair, ”Fill up and then get some sleep upstairs. We’ll discuss Xu Pei’s situation afterward.”

”Yes, Ruoruo, your health is important. Don’t be too upset,” Tong Ya also hurried to persuade her.

When Ruoruo finished her meal, Qin Lan escorted her upstairs and didn’t come back down until she had coaxed her to sleep.

In the living room, Tong Ya and Shen Yizhou had already briefly discussed the situation. Seeing Qin Lan, Shen Yizhou immediately said, ”Qin Lan, Tong Ya and I have talked it over, and you should continue with your honeymoon trip. After all, the ship is already booked, and besides, you’re not doctors; staying here won’t help Xu Pei.”

”Ruoruo is pregnant right now, and having too many emotional ups and downs isn’t good for her health. It’s a good time for you to take her out and help her relax,” Tong Ya added.

Qin Lan thought for a moment and nodded, ”The butler and maids are all here at the castle, so if you need, you can stay here all the time.”

Qin Lan hadn’t had much contact with Xu Pei, and to a large extent, he even agreed with Leng Zimo’s decision, thinking that Xu Pei had brought this on herself. The only reason he stayed was because of Huangfu Ruo.

At the time of their marriage, he had promised Huangfu Ruo to take her on a trip to the Polar Region, to see the Northern Lights and Polar Bears. Although he was sympathetic about Xu Pei’s situation, he didn’t want Huangfu Ruo to be too saddened by the incident.

The doorbell rang, and a maid opened the door to let in Leng Zirui and Huangfu Ao who walked in from outside.

”You’re back just in time,” Shen Yizhou gestured for the two to sit down on the couch, ”Tong Ya and I have already discussed it. Tomorrow, Qin Lan and Ruoruo will go on their honeymoon, and I’ll return to the country with you all and the inspection team. Tong Ya will stay to take care of Xu Pei. After Uncle Leng finishes the examination and Xu Pei’s condition stabilizes, we’ll figure out how to transfer her back to our country for treatment.”

No one raised any objections.

After all, this was the best decision they could make under the circumstances.

Qin Lan and Huangfu Ruo’s honeymoon shouldn’t be delayed, Leng Zirui and Huangfu Ao had no control over their situation, and the tests for Leng Lin had to go on; they all had to leave.

”Sister Tong Ya, will your job be okay?” Leng Zirui asked.

Tong Ya smiled, ”It’s fine, I was thinking of taking this opportunity to have a long vacation and join Qin Lan and the others on a trip to the Arctic. If not, there’s always another time.”

”Then that’s all we can do for now,” Huangfu Ao said, glancing upstairs, ”How’s Ruoruo doing?”

Qin Lan stood up, taking the red tea a maid had brought over and placing it in front of everyone, ”She’s fine, sleeping right now.”

Leng Zirui took a sip from the red tea that he had accepted, ”Has she woken up yet? How is she feeling?”

Human beings are not emotionless like plants and trees, and especially when it comes to a companion who has lived under the same roof for many years. Although Leng Zirui had lashed out at her before, now that Xu Pei was in this predicament, his concern was also inevitable.
