After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 346: Chapter 347: Heaven Opens a Door

The muddy stones beneath her feet were not firm, and her feet would sink into the mud every so often. Despite it being only a hundred meters, by the time Luo Xiaoqian finally made her way through the mire and stood on the relatively cleaner road on the opposite side, she was drenched in sweat.

Turning her head, she looked at the people on the other side who were lifting Xiao Mei out of the car. Clutching the neckline of her clothing, Luo Xiaoqian hastened towards the direction of the main road.

To Luo Xiaoqian, one kilometer was not a particularly long distance under normal circumstances.

However, on such a stormy night, that one kilometer seemed to stretch on as if she were traversing an entire world.

Finally, she reached the fork and stood on the main road. Looking left and right along the spacious main road, a sense of joy failed to rise in her heart.

On both sides, it was pitch-black, without even the shadow of a light. Where was she to find a car?!

Car, car, come quickly!

Out of the corner of her eye, she caught sight of two beams of light. Overjoyed, Luo Xiaoqian immediately dashed forward, waving her flashlight.

”Stop the car, stop the car!”

The car approached, but it showed no sign of stopping and instead whizzed past Luo Xiaoqian.

”Hey!”

Luo Xiaoqian chased after it frantically and, with the help of the light, saw only a hand extending from the right-side window of the car.

It was a pale hand, fingers held together, with only the middle finger standing erect, painted with red nail polish.

In such a rainy night, the driver simply regarded Luo Xiaoqian as a troublemaker trying to flag down cars.

Watching the car’s taillights disappear into the mist, Luo Xiaoqian could only bite her lip in frustration before turning around and dashing towards the front right—the way she came. In her faint memory, there seemed to be a gas station not too far from here; perhaps she could try her luck there.

As she sprinted ahead, she saw no sign of the gas station.

In fact, there was indeed a gas station ahead, but from her vantage point in the car, it had seemed deceptively close. In reality, the station was still over ten kilometers away. How could she reach it in such short order?

Her foot slipped, and Luo Xiaoqian’s body swayed. She braced herself with her hands in a panic. Though she did not fall, her flashlight rolled out of her grip, landing on the ground and shattering.

Darkness engulfed the area in an instant.

Getting up from the ground and breathing heavily, she dimly caught sight of a beam of light ahead, coming straight toward her through the thick rain.

Within the mist, the light drew nearer.

It was as if Heaven had opened a door for her.

Overjoyed, Luo Xiaoqian immediately stood up and walked to the center of the road, facing the oncoming light with her arms outstretched.

”Please stop, please stop, you must stop!” she prayed under her breath.

The sound of brakes filled the air, and the SUV stopped perilously less than half a meter from her body.

”Are you crazy, do you have a death wish?!” the driver exclaimed angrily as he pushed open the door.

”I’m so sorry, I really am so sorry!” Luo Xiaoqian rushed over with a look of joy on her face, clutching the car door tightly, ”I beg you, please save us! I’m not a bad person, I really am not, there’s a child over there with acute appendicitis; if we’re any later, she might die...”

Fearing that the driver would not believe her and would leave just like the previous car, she raised her hand and took off the hood of her raincoat, revealing her face.

”Please look carefully, my last name is Luo, my name is Luo Xiaoqian, the singer. I’m not a fraudster, I truly am not, please...”

On the back seat, a man who had been sleeping sat up straight, removed the eye mask from his face, and exclaimed, ”Luo Xiaoqian?!”

...

...

-_-# Peace.
