After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 324: Chapter 325 Chorus

The duty manager, in front of his own big BOSS, was nothing but smiles, insisting, ”Don’t worry, she’ll definitely come!”

After much coaxing and persuading, Xu Xia was finally brought to a VIP room on the sixth floor. Everyone took their seats according to status, and Luo Xiaoqian was once again arranged to sit next to Leng Zimo. The duty manager personally attended to the pouring of drinks and water while sending a waiter to notify Liu Feifei.

It wasn’t long before Liu Feifei entered the room. Seeing the few people inside, she already regretted her past actions but had no choice but to brave it and help serve drinks to Leng Zimo, Luo Xiaoqian, and the others.

Swirling her glass, Xu Xia said, ”Liu Feifei, how about that? ’Ten years east of the river, ten years west of the river’, did you ever think Xiao Qian and I would have our day?”

”How could I not?” Liu Feifei’s smile was filled with flattery. ”I always knew that both of you would make it big! I was disrespectful to you before, so today I’ll take a drink as punishment, no, three drinks, as an apology to you both!”

”Right, right, right, I’ll also take three drinks as punishment. It’s my fault for the poor management that caused you both distress back then!” The duty manager followed suit and downed three drinks.

Luo Xiaoqian glanced at the slightly stern face of Leng Zimo next to her, afraid that he might lose his temper, she hurriedly steadied Xu Xia, and then gestured to Liu Feifei.

”Everyone have fun; I’ll be going down first!” Liu Feifei quickly looked for an excuse to escape, and the duty manager volunteered to have his staff open more bottles and bring fruit platters, ”Today, all expenses are on me. You all have a good time, and if you need anything, just ask!”

”No need, no need, thank you!” Luo Xiaoqian personally got up to see him out, and when she returned and sat down, she looked helplessly at Xu Xia guzzling her drink and then whispered an apology to Leng Zimo.

”You guys have no idea!” Xu Xia lifted her hand to wipe her face, her eyes red as a rabbit’s, ”Back then, Xiao Qian had it rough, so poor she only had a few hundred yuan to her name. Every day she ate nothing but steamed buns and instant noodles, and at night, too thrifty to take a taxi, she’d squeeze into the late-night bus. And this scumbag not only figured out ways to dock our pay but also fired us...”

”Xiao Xia, stop it,” Luo Xiaoqian said, sniffing as she remembered the past. ”Today we’re here to have fun. Come on, a toast to everyone!”

”Right, right, let’s all take a drink!” Yu Tong also helped smooth things over, ”Here’s to Luo Xiaoqian’s singing career reaching new heights!”

The crowd clinked glasses and drank, with Luo Xiaoqian lifting her head to take a sip, but what she ended up drinking was a slightly sweet beverage.

It turned out, while everyone was distracted, Leng Zimo had quietly switched her drink.

These guys were all in the promotion business, naturally good at creating an atmosphere. The minor incident was quickly put to rest, and the youngsters started singing and making merry. Qin Lan and Huangfu Ruo even sang a duet, creating a lively vibe.

”President Leng, will you sing one too?” Zhuo Yannan also seemed a bit tipsy and, emboldened by alcohol, dared to joke with Leng Zimo.

”Right, right, President Leng and Xiao Qian should sing a duet!”

”Duet, duet...”

The group of young people, fueled by alcohol, joined in the chanting, and two microphones were promptly handed to Leng Zimo and Luo Xiaoqian.

As it happened, somebody had selected ”Rooftop,” and while Luo Xiaoqian was still hesitant, Leng Zimo had already started singing along to the music.

”Can’t sleep in the middle of the night, so I hum my feelings into a song...”
