After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 311: Chapter 312 That is Love [2]

”What’s wrong?” His tone was full of concern.

”I...” Luo Xiaoqian’s voice hesitated, ”I just wanted to see if you were asleep... I... can’t sleep...”

Leng Zimo let out a sigh, then a blissful and radiant smile bloomed on his face.

So, she missed him too!

It had taken Luo Xiaoqian a long time to make this call.

She had entered his number several times and deleted it just as many times, but in the end, she couldn’t help herself and called.

”Did I disturb your sleep?” Without hearing his voice, Luo Xiaoqian rushed to apologize, ”Sorry, I’ll hang up right away!”

”Don’t!” Leng Zimo quickly spoke up, ”I can’t sleep either, let’s chat.”

He had never known before that missing someone could taste so intense.

Just moments ago, he even felt the urge to rush to Shanghai immediately to see her. He was no longer a young lad, and besides, he was always a calm person. Impulsiveness was something that had long been irrelevant to him.

But after meeting her, it seemed everything had changed.

They say love can drive one crazy, can make one act out of character. He had never believed it before, but now he did.

The two of them started chatting, talking about Luo Xiaoqian’s work that day to interesting stories from her childhood, he (she) had never known before that they could have so much to talk about.

Until the phone began to overheat, warning of low battery.

Luo Xiaoqian glanced at the time, ”Ah, it’s too late, my phone’s almost out of battery, we should... sleep, right?”

”Okay!” Leng Zimo readily agreed, though reluctant, she still had work and he couldn’t bear to keep her with him anymore.

”Actually...” Luo Xiaoqian bit her lip, ”I just... missed you!”

”I know.” Leng Zimo smiled, ”Because I missed you too.”

”Really?” Luo Xiaoqian looked surprised, ”I thought I was the only one being childish.”

”Idiot!” He laughed and scolded softly, ”That’s not being childish, that’s love!”

Love?

Had she also fallen for him?

Luo Xiaoqian wanted to say more, but her phone had completely blacked out, out of battery.

Holding the turned-off phone, Luo Xiaoqian lay on her pillow with eyes wide open, lost in thought.

She had always thought she loved Lu Hao, but when she was with him, even though they were often apart, she had never missed him like this. Could it be that wasn’t love?

...

...

The next morning, a group set off for Suzhou early.

Noticing Luo Xiaoqian’s dark circles, Yu Tong was startled.

”What happened, is it an issue with the local climate?”

”I...” Luo Xiaoqian stuck out her tongue, ”Maybe it’s because I was too excited about doing the show yesterday, so I suffered from insomnia.”

Yu Tong looked helpless and hurriedly took out eye masks to help her apply them, while discussing with the makeup artist about making up to conceal them.

It started drizzling on the way, and by the time they reached Suzhou, the rain had grown heavy. The book signing had to be moved from outdoors to indoors. At lunchtime, Luo Xiaoqian, watching the slowly diminishing rain outside, asked Yu Tong if they could go out for a walk. They had some hours to kill before their evening agenda. Rather than waiting around, why not take a turn outside? It would be a pity not to take a look around since they were there, and she knew that Leng Zimo liked those old Chinese artifacts. She also wanted to buy some crafts to take back to him as gifts.

After getting permission from Yu Tong, she put on a raincoat, grabbed an umbrella, slung her bag over her shoulder, and walked out into the light rain.
