After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 335: Chapter 336: Parting on Bad Terms

His heart was filled with worry about her knowing the truth, and Leng Zimo’s tone was very urgent, which made him appear especially domineering.

Luo Xiaoqian turned her face in surprise, looking at him, somewhat baffled as to why a mere phone call could cause him to lose such a temper.

The attendant by their side also noticed that the atmosphere between the two was off, set down the dish he was carrying, and retreated after bowing.

Luo Xiaoqian settled back into her chair, ”I had promised Xu Xia before, and now that I’m suddenly going back on my word, I should explain it to her. Using your phone isn’t very convenient, so I thought...”

Leng Zimo also realized his lapse in composure, ”I’m sorry, I was too loud!”

”Could it be that something happened?” Luo Xiaoqian asked.

Having been with him for so long, she had come to understand his temperament quite a bit.

Although she did not know what exactly had happened, she could tell from his current demeanor that it must be a troublesome matter.

Across the table, Leng Zimo picked up his utensils, ”Let’s eat.”

”Sometimes it’s better to talk things out rather than keep them bottled up inside,” Luo Xiaoqian said with a smile, looking at him. ”Even though I may not be of much help, I can be a good listener.”

”It’s really nothing!” Leng Zimo returned her a smile, ”Time is running short, let’s eat.”

Luo Xiaoqian looked across the table at his complexion and suddenly chuckled, ”It wouldn’t have anything to do with me, would it?”

Leng Zimo’s fingers trembled slightly, his fork scraping across the plate with a grating noise.

”Does it really have something to do with me?” Luo Xiaoqian’s expression changed.

Her previous remark had been in jest, but Leng Zimo’s reaction was just too alarming.

”Luo Xiaoqian, will you ever stop?” Leng Zimo exploded, ”Can’t you just let me eat in peace?”

He knew his words were hurtful, but he was out of options. This girl may seem somewhat dense, but she was actually very smart and, at times, quite stubborn. He was genuinely worried that she would guess something.

Ever since her debut, Luo Xiaoqian had always maintained a wholesome image, and the media had unanimously hailed her as a rare ”positive energy idol.”

If this matter were not handled properly, it could greatly damage her image.

He knew the media all too well.

He didn’t want her to face this storm. If there had to be one person to confront the situation, he hoped it would be him.

And for her, it would be enough to just sing her songs happily and do what she liked.

Luo Xiaoqian stared at him with a stunned face, her eyes filled with irrepressible guilt.

”Zimo, I’m sorry.”

His heart ached deeply.

”Shut up!” Leng Zimo clenched his cutlery tightly and roared, ”From now on, don’t utter another word!”

Luo Xiaoqian bit her lip, lowered her head, and ate.

She knew he must have encountered some difficulty at work, but she still felt somewhat wronged.

Her intentions were genuinely good, so how could he lose his temper like that?

Despite feeling deeply wronged, she struggled not to show it, and Leng Zimo could hardly bear to look at her.

It was only after watching her stubbornly stuff the food from her plate into her mouth that he stood up.

”Let’s go.”

The two of them left the restaurant one after the other and rushed to the airport in the car.

When they arrived at the airport, Leng Zimo did not get out of the car but simply instructed the driver.

”You take her to board the plane!”

Luo Xiaoqian got out of the car, snatched her luggage from the driver’s hand, and walked into the airport without looking back.
