After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 331: Chapter 332: It’s the Gift You Gave Me

”Someone leaked photos of Luo Xiaoqian and a man online, and now Weibo and all sorts of forums are going nuts over it. And, we can’t even get in touch with her right now!” Zhuo Yannan’s voice was filled with urgency.

After this incident happened, Yu Tong tried to contact Luo Xiaoqian immediately, but just now, because Luo Xiaoqian was following a tutorial on her phone to cook, she casually placed it at the edge of the table while eating, and forgot to take it with her when she left. Thus, she didn’t pick up the phone. Yu Tong, having no other options, turned to contact Zhuo Yannan.

This matter was too big for her to handle alone.

Since Leng Zimo was the last one to leave with Luo Xiaoqian last night, after Zhuo Yannan couldn’t find her anywhere, in desperation, she finally called Leng Zimo’s number to try her luck.

Unexpectedly, she actually got through.

”Who is the man?” Leng Zimo asked with a frown.

On the other end of the line, Zhuo Yannan hesitated for a moment, ”The man’s back is shown, it’s not very clear, but... many people are speculating it’s... you!”

Him?!

Leng Zimo was stunned for a second.

”I’ll call you back in a bit!” After hanging up, Leng Zimo turned to look at Luo Xiaoqian, who was still sitting on the railing, swinging her long legs. ”Let’s go back.”

Luo Xiaoqian jumped off the railing and looked at his phone, ”Is something the matter?”

”Just a small issue, don’t worry about it,” Leng Zimo reassured her with a slight lift of his lips.

The two of them returned to the villa together. Leng Zimo only mentioned that his stomach was a bit off and asked her to go upstairs to fetch some medicine for him. As Luo Xiaoqian busied herself going upstairs, he headed toward the dining room.

During dinner, he seemed to vaguely remember seeing her leave her phone on the dining table.

Sure enough, as soon as Leng Zimo entered the dining room, he saw Luo Xiaoqian’s phone at the edge of the table, displaying twenty-something missed calls and dozens of unread text messages.

Leng Zimo had just picked up the phone when another unfamiliar number was already calling. Guessing that it was probably another harassing call from a website or media reporter, Leng Zimo didn’t even look before hanging up the call.

Glancing in the direction of the upstairs, he turned and walked into the kitchen, tossing Luo Xiaoqian’s phone into the sink, turned on the faucet, and watched as the phone sank to the bottom before he turned to leave the kitchen.

Just as he came into the living room, Luo Xiaoqian had already come running down from upstairs with the medicine, handed him a glass of water, and then pulled out two tablets, offering them to him.

”Is it because the steak I made was too rare? Otherwise, shall we go to the hospital and have it checked?”

”You made it so delicious that I couldn’t help myself; it’s nothing, the medicine will do the trick,” Leng Zimo swallowed the medicine she handed him. ”Go to sleep, I’ll take care of some things in the study.”

”Are you really okay?” Luo Xiaoqian still couldn’t rest assured.

”I’m really fine,” Leng Zimo stood up and hugged her waist. ”Be a good girl and come upstairs with me.”

Luo Xiaoqian accompanied him to the upstairs, all the way to the door of the study. ”You get to work, I’ll go clean up the kitchen, then make you a ginger tea.”

Watching her turn and head downstairs, Leng Zimo quickly stepped over to the railing.

Shortly after, he saw her run out of the kitchen, phone in hand, panicked, and dash upstairs.

”What happened?”

”My phone fell into the sink and got wet. I’ll try drying it with a hair dryer. It should still work.”

”Forget about it!” Leng Zimo snatched the phone from her hand. ”I’ll buy you a new one later.”

”But...” she looked up at him with the phone in his hands, ”This one, it’s the one you gave me.”
