After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 338: Chapter 339: Turning Point

Before Leng Zimo could speak again, his phone rang once more.

”President Leng, I have some good news for you,” Zhuo Yannan’s voice immediately came through the phone.

Leng Zimo waved his fist in front of Leng Zirui’s face, ”Speak.”

”Mr. Yansu is currently at Emperor View; he came to Beijing specifically to thank Luo Xiaoqian. With this, Luo Xiaoqian’s situation should be able to turn around!” Zhuo Yannan’s tone was filled with excitement.

”Yansu?” Leng Zimo raised an eyebrow slightly, ”Is that the Yansu who just won the Nobel Prize in Literature?”

”That’s right, him!”

”What happened?” Leng Zimo asked hurriedly.

On the side, Leng Zirui, hearing Yansu’s name, also curiously brought his ear closer to the phone.

”Here’s what happened: Xiao Qian went to Hangzhou for an event, right? Due to rain, the outdoor event was canceled, so she went to Canglang Pavilion on her own to have fun. By coincidence, Mr. Yansu went there with his family for a meet-and-greet, and Madam Yan took her granddaughter there too. The little girl accidentally fell into the water and was fortunately saved by Xiao Qian. At that time, because Madam Yan was too panicked, she didn’t ask for details and left with her granddaughter. These days, they’ve been searching for this life-saver, and by chance, upon seeing Luo Xiaoqian’s promotional photo, Madam Yan recognized at a glance that she was the one who saved her granddaughter. As it happened, Mr. Yansu was coming to Beijing for a conference, so he personally came to our Emperor View to present a banner of thanks!” Zhuo Yannan took a breath, ”Mr. Yansu has already gone off to the meeting, but I’ve asked him, and he said he will stay in Beijing for two days and can be contacted anytime if needed!”

”That’s wonderful!” Leng Zimo also sounded a rare note of excitement, ”I have already found out the true nature of the situation. Issue a notice right away, and hold a press conference tomorrow morning at ten.”

”Heroic lifesaver?!” Leng Zirui raised his hand and propped his arm behind his head, ”This sister-in-law of ours is really something!”

Leng Zimo, still with a pleased expression, heard this and his face suddenly turned solemn, ”You little brat, daring to keep such a major event from me.”

Thinking back to the image of her leaping into the lake amid the rain, he couldn’t help but feel a sense of lingering fear.

What if something had happened?!

Leng Zirui gave him a look, ”Look at that scowl on your face now. If I were her, I definitely wouldn’t tell you either.”

Touching his own face, Leng Zimo turned to look at him, ”That fierce?”

”Not just fierce, too fierce. She went to save someone, not to commit suicide by jumping into the lake. It’s not that serious. As a child who grew up by the sea, she surely can’t be bad at swimming, and the water at Canglang Pavilion couldn’t possibly drown her. You’re overreacting!”

Leng Zimo turned, his gaze deeply fixed on his younger brother, ”How do you know she grew up by the sea?”

”Uh...” Realizing he had slipped up, Leng Zirui laughed and sat up straight, pretending to remind their driver, ”That Xiao Zhou, turn right up ahead, it tends to get congested around there...”

Leng Zimo pressed him back down into the car seat, ”You dared to investigate her?”

”Heh heh!” Leng Zirui smiled ingratiatingly, ”It’s just professional habit, after all, she’s likely to marry into the Leng Family someday, and as your brother, I have to keep an eye out for you, right...”

”Cut the crap!” Leng Zimo interrupted him, ”Was it the old man who asked you to look into her?”

It was fine that Leng Zirui knew about this matter, but at the moment, he didn’t want the elder of the Leng Family to know about Luo Xiaoqian.
