After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 248: Chapter 249: Her Panic [5]

Hearing his laughter, Luo Xiaoqian immediately realized she had been played and rolled her eyes, ”What’s so funny? I can’t be bothered with you, go eat your bread.”

She had good intentions, yet he teased her!

Holding the plate, Luo Xiaoqian turned to leave.

Before she could take a step, an arm was already wrapping around her waist from behind, and then her back pressed against Leng Zimo’s warm and solid chest.

Leng Zimo leaned down to lightly kiss her ear, ”I’ll go bake the bread!”

He turned around and walked to the table, cut a square bread loaf, spread butter on it, and placed it on the grill. Luo Xiaoqian, however, remained standing where she was, the place where he kissed her burning like fire, making her heart unable to settle, and the delicious skewered meat she just ate lost all its flavor.

Although they were already very close, why did just a light kiss make her so flustered?

”Do you want to try it?”

Leng Zimo’s voice came from not far away.

”Yes!”

Luo Xiaoqian snapped back to reality and hurried over. Leng Zimo had already used tongs to pass her a piece of the freshly baked bread.

”Hot!” She reached out to take it, but Leng Zimo pulled the bread back a bit and directly brought it to her mouth, ”Take a small bite slowly.”

She bit a small piece with her mouth, following his hand. The bread had a crispy and savory crust due to the butter, yet the inside was soft and sweet.

”How is it?”

”Delicious!”

With her approval, Leng Zimo promptly took another plate from the table, picked up the baked bread into the plate, casually grabbed some juice and beer, and walked towards the tent.

He squatted by the tent side, but glanced at Luo Xiaoqian still stunned in place.

”Aren’t you coming?”

”Oh, I’m coming!”

Luo Xiaoqian responded and ran over, placing the plate on the sand like he did, then sat beside him.

With one hand holding the bread, Leng Zimo lifted his head to take a sip of beer, his gaze falling on the vast night sky.

”I can’t even remember the last time I looked at the stars!”

Luo Xiaoqian, holding onto a can of juice and fiddling with the straw, also looked up at the starlight just like him.

”Me neither,” Leng Zimo said softly.

How long had it been since he’d had the leisure to just drink, feel the breeze, and watch the stars? Even he didn’t have an answer, his memory seemed to consist of nothing but work.

”I can’t understand people like you. Like us, out of necessity, we have to strive for a living, but you’re different. If you’re willing, you can have enough time to do what you want, yet you choose to battle with yourself.”

”I have dreams too,” said Leng Zimo.

Luo Xiaoqian turned to him curiously, ”Can you tell me?”

She couldn’t imagine what dreams he could have.

In terms of fame, he had already been a globally recognized young star since his youth.

In terms of work, his Emperor View Group was a highly influential company in Asia and even globally.

In terms of productions, he had produced an album and six singles, all of which had topped various major charts.

...

Could such a person still have dreams?

”Over the years, although many domestic works have won international awards, most are critically acclaimed but not commercially successful, rarely like the classics from North America. I hope to make a film that is both acclaimed and sells well, letting the whole world, people of all skin colors, know that we have more than just ’CHINA kung fu’, in addition to flying...”
