After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 206: Chapter 207: Shocking Soul [8]

The wind and rain struck fiercely against my body, so cold.

Luo Xiaoqian shivered, feeling the warmth of her body suddenly drained away, her hands and feet clutching the windowsill almost slipped.

Luo Xiaoqian, you can do this, you can do this!

Encouraging herself in her mind, she turned her face, looked through her rain-soaked hair towards the security window below at an angle, and carefully stretched out her toes.

Time and again, always just a little bit short.

Helplessly, she had to slowly release her grip on the windowsill, and just when she was about to exert all her strength, her toes hooked onto the security window, stepped one foot onto it, took a breath, clenched her teeth hard, and with fingers dug into the windowsill, moved little by little.

Finally, both her feet were firmly on the security window.

If she could just move down to the security window on the first floor, she could escape to the alley below, standing on the security window she took a breath, Luo Xiaoqian bent down once more.

Inside the room, Li Defu’s subordinate brought in the money.

Taking the money and carelessly tossing it onto the table, Li Defu frowned and walked to the bathroom door.

”Hey, are you done yet?”

Inside the door, there was no answer, only the sound of running water, and faintly the sound of rain as well.

He grabbed the doorknob, tried to twist it, but it wouldn’t budge.

”Luo Xiaoqian, don’t play dead with me, make a sound!” Li Defu knocked heavily on the door, still no response from the inside.

”Boss?” the subordinate who brought the money walked up behind him, ”Step aside!”

Li Defu stepped aside, the subordinate took two steps back and with a strong kick, a muffled sound erupted, and the bathroom door was kicked open.

Luo Xiaoqian’s shoes were by the toilet, the faucet and the shower were both running, but both the bag and the person were gone.

The subordinate rushed into the bathroom, stepped onto the toilet, and seeing Luo Xiaoqian climbing towards the first floor, immediately shouted loudly, ”Boss, she’s trying to run away!”

Li Defu’s father had been a bureaucrat, and the son had clout in both the legal and illicit worlds in Zhengding. Though he couldn’t cover the sky with one hand, he was certainly a man with far-reaching influence.

Pushing men around and bullying women were commonplace for him, but this was the first time he encountered someone like Luo Xiaoqian; he couldn’t tolerate it.

”Damn it, you bitch, dare to play me!” Li Defu’s face instantly twisted into rage, ”Catch her for me, if I don’t deal with this girl tonight, I won’t carry the Li name anymore!”

The window was too small, the tall subordinate naturally couldn’t get through, so he jumped down from the toilet, rushed out the door, called on his companions, and ran downstairs.

Li Defu went back to the bedroom, opened the window, and watched as Luo Xiaoqian, being careful, climbed down to the first floor. He grabbed a cup from the table and threw it at her.

The cup shattered against the security window.

Although it didn’t hit Luo Xiaoqian, she was still startled, her footing slipped, and she fell towards the ground below.

Fortunately, she was almost to the first floor and wasn’t injured, but the contents of her bag scattered all over the place.

Ignoring the scrapes on her arms and legs, Luo Xiaoqian quickly got up, grabbed her wallet, just as her phone began to shrilly ring.

In the rainy night, in the dim alley, the brightness from the phone’s screen was so dazzling, on the screen, two characters flickered.

”Tyrant”!

It was Leng Zimo.

”You wait, you little wretch!”

Watching Luo Xiaoqian getting up, Li Defu roared and threw another tea cup down.

Pushing herself off the ground with both hands, as Luo Xiaoqian answered the call, she ran forward.

”Where are you!”
