After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 246: Chapter 247 Together We [3]

Eating barbecue on the beach, sleeping in a tent, staring at the stars... This had been a cherished wish of hers since her childhood.

However, her mother was unwell and her father spent few days at home throughout the year, so even as she turned twenty, this wish remained just that—a wish.

”Alright!”

Leng Zimo, still attending to the meat on the grill, simply responded with a single word.

”Hooray!” Luo Xiaoqian stretched out her arms and embraced him tightly, ”Leng Zimo, you’re so wonderful!”

Leng Zimo’s hands shook slightly, and the meat on the tongs almost fell onto the sand.

When he turned to look at Luo Xiaoqian, who was nestling her face against his arm, his eyes betrayed an unmistakable heartache.

It was just a tent, what was there to get so excited about?

How could he know that it wasn’t just a tent, but the dream of Luo Xiaoqian’s childhood?

”I’ll go get the tent!”

Letting go of him, Luo Xiaoqian turned and ran towards the little gate of the villa, but she slipped on the steps and almost fell.

”Be careful!”

Leng Zimo quickly warned.

Steadying herself on the doorframe just in time, Luo Xiaoqian regained her footing, turned back with a radiant smile, and dashed into the villa’s garage. She opened the trunk of the car and sure enough, saw the tent lying calmly in one corner of the luggage space, with a blue and a red sleeping bag beside it.

”There are even sleeping bags, Leng Zimo, I absolutely adore you!”

Luo Xiaoqian immediately set to work, moving the items one by one onto the sand, and swiftly began to unpack and prepare for assembly.

”Let’s eat first!” Leng Zimo suggested, carrying over plates piled with grilled sausages and skewers.

”How about we assemble the tent and then eat inside it?” Luo Xiaoqian asked with a smile, lifting her face.

Faced with such a smile, how could Leng Zimo possibly say no?

”You eat, I’ll set it up.”

”No way!” Luo Xiaoqian insisted, ”We’ll do it together.”

”We”?!

Leng Zimo nodded gently, ”Alright!”

He set the plates back on the table and joined her to assemble the tent, a very professional camping tent that even Leng Zimo had never set up before.

”Looks like I’ll have to study this.”

”You don’t know how either?”

Luo Xiaoqian was somewhat surprised; in her eyes, Leng Zimo was akin to a god, capable of anything.

”I’m not a god,” Leng Zimo said, picking up the instructions, ”but I can follow them.”

His daily work was already overwhelmingly busy; where would he find any spare time for camping?

Luo Xiaoqian immediately leaned in close, and together they studied the instructions against the actual product. Finally, they started to get the hang of it and began the assembly.

After more than half an hour and a collapsed tent later—which left both Leng Zimo and Luo Xiaoqian covered in sand—they finally completed the assembly.

At last, the tent stood finished.

”Done! I told you, there’s nothing in this world Luo Xiaoqian can’t do!”

Luo Xiaoqian looked at the tent in front of her with a sense of accomplishment.

Leng Zimo turned his gaze to her, noting the sand on her face. He raised his hand and gently swept the grains away with his fingertips, ”You should go wash your face first.”

Turning to him with a smile, and noticing that his face too was speckled with sand, she burst out laughing, ”Look who’s talking—you’ve got sand on your face too, you know?”

Leng Zimo raised his hand and wiped his face with the back of his hand, but he already had sand on his palms. Instead of removing the original sand, he just smeared more on.

”Let me do it, you’re just spreading it more!” Luo Xiaoqian clapped her hands together, grabbed hold of his collar to pull him down, and then reached out with her other hand to carefully wipe the fine grains of sand from his face.
