After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 225: Chapter 226: When a Male God Meets Another Male God【2】

Luo Xiaoqian was speechless.

Clearly, when Jiao Yang mentioned ”him,” he was referring to Leng Zimo.

Despite her intention to avoid them meeting each other, Jiao Yang insisted on waiting for Leng Zimo to arrive before leaving. Was this guy sent by the heavens just to torment her?!

”Did I offend you?”

Luo Xiaoqian’s expression darkened.

Admittedly, this scandal wasn’t really Jiao Yang’s fault.

In the entertainment industry, with paparazzi and all sorts of gossip... such things were hardly fresh news.

Learning about her injury, Jiao Yang had come to see her in person, and Luo Xiaoqian was grateful.

But now, this guy’s attitude clearly showed he wanted to be at odds with her!

”Absolutely not!”

Jiao Yang took an apple from the fruit basket and, with his slender and attractive fingers, he grabbed a paring knife from the table and started peeling the apple leisurely.

After a while, he put down the knife and presented the peeled apple to Luo Xiaoqian.

”How about this, eat this apple and I’ll leave right away. Consider it as you accepting my apology, how’s that?”

”You’ll keep your word?” Luo Xiaoqian asked.

”Otherwise, shall we pinkie promise?” he held up his other hand, his long pinky slightly bent.

”No need!”

Luo Xiaoqian held out her palm, and he placed the apple in her hand, pinching the peel at the top and gently pulling it away, revealing the white, juicy flesh underneath.

”How’s that, isn’t it pretty!”

Discarding the peel in a nearby trash can, Jiao Yang’s face displayed undisguised smugness.

Luo Xiaoqian couldn’t be bothered with him and just brought the apple to her lips, taking a big bite.

Right now, all she wanted was to send this troublesome spirit away. It wouldn’t matter if it were eating an apple or a pound of chili peppers; she’d do it.

As she continued to bite into the apple, Luo Xiaoqian kept glancing at her wristwatch. It had been over ten minutes—Leng Zimo couldn’t have arrived so quickly, could he?

With her brisk actions, the apple in her hand was swiftly eaten.

Half, a third, a quarter... Finally, with the last bite, Luo Xiaoqian took the remaining piece of flesh in her mouth.

As Jiao Yang watched her eat the apple with a smile, he held out his hand. Without any courtesy, she placed the core in his palm and, while still chewing the apple, she didn’t forget to remind him, ”You can leave now!”

”Alright!” Jiao Yang tossed the core into the trash can, pulled out two tissues, handed one to her, and wiped his hands with the other, ”I wish you a speedy recovery!”

Then, he stood up from his chair and walked towards the door.

Just like those overused clichés in TV dramas and movies, the door was pushed open at that exact moment.

Hearing the sound, Luo Xiaoqian looked up.

A tall figure entered, striding in, impeccably dressed in a dark suit, his handsome face so composed it was difficult to tell whether he was sad or joyful.

The person walking in was none other than Leng Zimo, the very last person she wanted to see at this time.

Jiao Yang stopped in his tracks, a smile playing on his lips.

”It looks like I’ll have to stay a bit longer now!”

Turning to face his smiling visage, Luo Xiaoqian instantly felt the urge to throw this demon out of the window.

This guy was doing it on purpose, definitely on purpose!

Saying he’d leave after she ate the apple was just a way to stall for time.

”Jiao Yang!”

Before she could swallow all the apple in her mouth, she couldn’t bear it anymore and roared out loud.

That shout was too hasty. A piece of apple, by some cruel twist of fate, lodged in her throat, causing Luo Xiaoqian to feel a painful ache, leaving her momentarily unable to speak.

Jiao Yang turned around, but Leng Zimo had already rushed forward, taking quick strides.
