After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 201: Chapter 202 - Dinner Party [3]

Hebei, Zhengding.

Since morning, the skies had been overcast, and by dusk it began to drizzle.

Despite this, the dancers on the stage continued to perform in the light rain.

Backstage, Luo Xiaoqian had already changed into her performance attire.

Due to the client’s request, she did not dare to take it lightly and specially brought the cocktail dress Leng Zimo had given her.

This time, she had come here alone.

Originally, she had planned to come with Yu Tong, but Yu Tong’s mother had a sudden stroke and was hospitalized, so she had to rush over by herself.

”Your performance dress is really beautiful, it’s just a pity that it’s a little rainy now, otherwise, the effect on stage would have been great!” another singer waiting to go on stage exclaimed with envy.

Luo Xiaoqian returned her smile and then tightened the coat she was wearing.

At that moment, Yu Tong’s call came through.

”Xiao Qian, how is it going?”

”It’s still a while before my turn!”

”It’s raining over here, is it raining there?” Yu Tong asked, full of concern in her voice.

”A little, not much!” Luo Xiaoqian glanced at the stage outside, already wet and starting to reflect light, ”It’s fine, take good care of your mom, I can handle things here!”

”Xiao Qian, I’m really sorry, if I had known the weather would turn out like this and that it was an open-air stage, we should have turned down the gig, and now, I’ve left you to go alone!”

”Didn’t you also have a last-minute emergency?” Hearing the announcer’s voice outside, Luo Xiaoqian hurried to take off her coat, ”It’s my turn, I’m going on stage!”

She stuffed her phone into her bag and dashed onto the steps.

It was early May, and the raindrops that fell on her arms were bone-chilling.

Because of the bad weather, there weren’t too many people in the audience.

Nonetheless, Luo Xiaoqian concentrated on singing her two songs. Together, they lasted nearly ten minutes. By the time she stepped off the stage, her hair and the hem of her dress were both drenched.

”Miss Luo! I’m Fang Zhuo, the secretary from Taian Company!” As soon as she came off stage, a young woman dressed very fashionably approached her.

”Hello!” Luo Xiaoqian put on her coat and shook hands with her.

”Once you’ve packed your things, we can go!” Fang Zhuo said.

”But they haven’t finished their performances yet, aren’t we supposed to go back to the hotel together?” Luo Xiaoqian asked, puzzled.

”It’s our president’s idea for you to join us for a meal, he is a big fan of yours!” Fang Zhuo explained with a smile.

”Dinner? That’s too kind, no need!” Luo Xiaoqian hurriedly declined, but the other party grabbed her bag and pulled her toward the exit without further discussion.

With no other option, Luo Xiaoqian followed them into the Audi parked outside.

The car left the venue and went directly to a hotel, where Fang Zhuo led her to a private room on the third floor.

In the room, the dishes had already been ordered, and only three people were seated around the large dining table.

Two men and one woman. The men she did not recognize: one guy around forty, slightly overweight and very average-looking; the other in his thirties, wearing glasses. The girl was beautiful, clad in a tight-fitting dress. She was another singer who had performed earlier, apparently named Yang Ning or something like that.

”Miss Luo!” Seeing her, the slightly chubby man immediately welcomed her with a smile and shook her hand, ”We have been waiting for you for quite a while!”

”This is President Li from our company!” Fang Zhuo introduced.
