After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 222: Chapter 223: Statement of Account [14]

Account Statement [14]

”I have Special Guardian here, so you just take good care of your mother. Since the album release has been postponed, there isn’t much work these last few days!”

Yu Tong said with a smile, patting her shoulder. Her expression then turned serious, and she spoke with increasing gravity, ”Xiao Qian, I have no right to pry into your private life. This time, you don’t need to worry too much about the scandal. The scandal will do more good than harm to the release of your single. However, in the future, you should be more careful. After all, Jiao Yang is the president of our rival company. If you still want to stay at Emperor View, it’s best to keep your distance from him!”

Luo Xiaoqian opened her mouth, but still offered no explanation.

This matter was too complex; she really had no way to explain.

”I’ll be leaving first. Call me if you need anything!” Yu Tong gathered her purse, waved at her, and left the hospital room.

Luo Xiaoqian pulled up the news website on her phone and located the article about her scandal, reading through the content carefully, her eyebrows furrowing tighter and tighter.

As a headline scandal, Leng Zimo couldn’t possibly be unaware.

What to do?!

Luo Xiaoqian felt troubled. If she tried to explain to Leng Zimo, would he believe her?

...

...

At Emperor View Group, President’s Office.

Ailin pushed the door open and placed a stack of account statements in front of Leng Zimo.

”President Leng, here are the statements for several of your credit cards. Please review and sign them so I can arrange the repayments!”

As an assistant, she had to take care of not only work-related tasks but also private matters like these—of course, she could proceed with repayment only after Leng Zimo had signed off on it.

Leng Zimo took the statements, hardly looking at them before signing at the back, then, as he was about to hand them back to her, he suddenly pulled back his hand and opened the statement for the credit card given to Luo Xiaoqian.

Glancing at the short statement, he just frowned.

This girl, only made these few purchases?

His gaze slid past a three-digit expense and paused at a transfer of a hundred thousand, then at the repayment of sixty thousand that followed, his brows raised, ”What’s this repayment all about?”

Ailin looked at the statement, ”It’s a cash transfer. Wasn’t it transferred by you?”

Leng Zimo tapped the statement with his pen, ”Get me a detailed statement of all transactions for this credit card for the past half month from the bank.”

”Right away!” Ailin responded and left.

Leng Zimo set aside the statement and continued working. In less than ten minutes, Ailin was back with a fax in hand.

”This is the fax from the bank!”

As a VIP gold cardholder, the bank certainly took very good care of him.

”Alright, you can go now.”

Leng Zimo took the fax. He rarely used this card, so there were hardly any transaction records, and Luo Xiaoqian had only used it once at the supermarket, in addition to those two transfers.

”Qingdao People’s Hospital?”

Leng Zimo’s gaze scanned the account name for the hundred-thousand transfer but didn’t pay too much attention.

His eyes shifted downward and stopped at the account transfer information below, the name Luo Xiaoqian on the transfer title made his fingers tighten.

What game was this girl playing?

Luo Xiaoqian was from Qingdao, and it was clear that she was the one who initiated the hundred-thousand transfer. Leng Zimo didn’t pay much attention to it; although she was an orphan, she surely had relatives and friends. Transferring a hundred thousand for medical treatment was no big deal.

The card was originally given to her by him, so naturally, she could spend as she pleased.

But why did this girl bother to make a repayment herself after using the money?!
