Chapter 2996: Chapter 9: The Dean Has Lost Many Titles

”——From this moment, you are legally the Dean of the Peripheral College, Zheng Qing...”

On the podium, Shi Hui hesitated, pondering for a long time, seemingly trying to find a suitable term to address the young wizard. It was difficult, because Zheng Qing was neither a professor nor could be considered a gentleman. If he continued to be called ’student’ or ’young master’, it would be too frivolous. Ultimately, the witch held the gavel and recognized the previous title given to Zheng Qing by the big wizards:

”——His Excellency Zheng Qing. In the name of ’Magic Professor, Father of Forbidden Curse, Representative of Truth, Chancellor of the First University, Honorary (President) of the Magic Alliance Conference Wizard Council, Lord of Buji Island’, from this moment on, you need to fulfill the relevant responsibilities and obligations of the Dean of the First University College.”

Thud!

The gavel fell heavily.

The crisp sound not only echoed in this Solomon Hall, but seemed to instantaneously spread to more distant places. In a vague moment, Zheng Qing faintly felt many lofty gazes penetrating countless dimensions, falling upon him.

Sitting on the left, Elder Ruoyu raised his eyelids, glanced at the young wizard, ”——You will have the right to participate in the selection process for the Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor, and the Deans of the five colleges of the First University.”

Professor Emma interjected, ”——You will have the authority to determine the candidates and appointments for Vice Dean, Professor, Associate Professor, and other faculty members of the Peripheral College.”

Old Yao added, ”——You can amend and supplement the ’Peripheral College Management Regulations’, with the authority to independently decide on admissions or expulsions of students.”

The Rat Immortal displayed a serious expression, speaking with utmost sincerity, ”——You will have the qualification to attend the Wizard Alliance Great Wizard Conference and possess voting and veto rights.”

The old lady from the Zhongshan Jiang Family looked lovingly at the young wizard, ”——You will acquire honorary membership in the Wizard Council, being able to attend and participate in all meetings of the Wizard Council.”

The Qingqiu Ancestor, who resembled Su Shijun, smiled with narrowed eyes, ”——You will obtain honorary membership in the Moon Council, being able to attend those tedious meetings... Additionally, you will gain half ownership of the Beta Town Greenhill Mansion.”

The content of the last statement clearly did not align with the solemn nature of this hearing, prompting the old lady from the Jiang Family to stare angrily. Other legendary figures seated on the platform exhibited expressions ranging from resignation to amusement.

Sitting to the right of Lady Shi Hui was the first legendary wizard Albert, who softly cleared his throat.

”——According to your testimony, the whereabouts of Chancellor Mr.Wu have yet to be determined, so your status as an heir cannot be established.” Adjusting his glasses, he lowered his eyelids, looking at the materials in front of him, speaking slowly, ”Therefore, you cannot inherit the title of ’Lord of Buji Island, Master of Xuanhuang Great World, Master of Three Realms Great World, and the Master of various heavens middle and small worlds under its jurisdiction’. Buji Island, Xuanhuang Great World, Three Realms Great World, and the heavens below them will be temporarily managed by the First University.”

Immediately following him, another Elder Wizard from the Karen Family, Prince John Hugh Karen, supplemented, ”——As per the agreement between the Alliance and the Starry Sky, before confirming the chancellor’s whereabouts, you will also be unable to inherit the title of ’Director of the Milky Way Orion’s Arm Tribunal, Super Galaxy and Star Shepherd’. ”

Legendary Alchemist Elias Ashmore glanced at the two rings on the young wizard’s hand, ”——During your tenure as Dean of the Peripheral College, you will acquire the usage rights of ’Primordial’ and ’Taiyi’. The International Alchemist Association will coordinate with the First University to provide support services for the two Giant God Soldiers.”

Legendary Druid Anthony Russel’s gaze roved between the little green snake on Zheng Qing’s ear and the flower cat in his arms, ”——Although you are not yet a legendary wizard, during your tenure as Dean of the Peripheral College, you will still be eligible for the ’Legendary Subsidy’ provided by the Alliance, limited to only you personally.”

Golden Dawn Society President Hermes concealed his face under a wide hood, speaking succinctly, ”——During your tenure as Dean of the Peripheral College, you will not be subjected to the usual investigation procedures by Danghag and the Trident Sword Alliance has authorized Danghag to pardon your past mistakes.”

Dark Council Chairman Six Fingers was the last to speak. He might have wished to emulate the Moon Council or Wizard Council, granting Zheng Qing an honorary council member title, but under the stern gaze of Shi Hui and the other two witches, he ultimately could only formally conclude this hearing:

”——In the name of Magic, Origin, and Truth, supervising and witnessing this hearing. Above statements acknowledged.”

Thud!

Lady Shi Hui contentedly struck the gavel one final time.

The hearing concluded.

The big wizards exited in an orderly fashion.

The wizards who had come from the ’relevant department’ wearing azure robes and pinned with black equilateral triangle symbols on their chests did not express any opinions from start to finish, merely observing the hearing silently.

Zheng Qing held the flower cat, watching them silently vanish at the entrance of Solomon Hall, deep in thought. The Yellow Flowered Cat raised its tail, stretched forward, and scratched its chin.

”——Nothing left to attend to, shall we return now?”

It flicked its ears, with an audacious tone in its voice.

Zheng Qing glanced at the podium; most of the legendary figures had already left at some unknown moment, yet three remained: Lady Shi Hui, Elder Ruoyu, and Prince John Hugh Karen from the Karen Family.

Shi Hui glanced at Zheng Qing, giving a small nod of encouragement, then turned to Ruoyu, saying, ”——School matters I will not partake in, you handle them yourself.”

And with that, she disappeared beneath the colossal scales.

Elder Ruoyu looked at Prince Karen.

”Before departing, I have a few minor questions to ask His Excellency Zheng Qing.” Prince Karen spoke with great humility, utterly void of aristocratic arrogance, ”——Before that, I want to apologize for Calvin’s earlier rudeness.”

Zheng Qing silently nodded.

The ’Calvin’ mentioned by Old Karen was the wizened Elder Wizard who had previously represented the oversight seat. He was the Great Wizard from the Karen Family and likely a direct descendant of this legendary John.

This legendary vampire seemed unperturbed by the young warlock’s aloofness and shifted his words, ”...What are your thoughts on the entities deep within the starry sky?”

”Non-interference.” Zheng Qing answered cautiously.

”And what about the opening war for the new world?”

”Mutual benefit and equality.” Zheng Qing instinctively blurted the phrase.

”What about the relationship between wizards and demons?”

”Ahem, if possible... I hope both sides can coexist peacefully.” Zheng Qing strived to maintain his indifferent tone.

The legendary vampire seemed very satisfied with his answer, ”——Does this imply you believe wizards and demons are equal in some sense?”

Coming from Jiuyou Academy, Zheng Qing instinctively nodded, ”All life deserves equal treatment... This has nothing to do with grievances or hatred; that’s a separate matter.”

Elder Ruoyu smiled slightly.

John Hugh Karen did not disguise his satisfaction, and proactively extended his hand to the young wizard, demonstrating goodwill, ”——I believe we will become excellent colleagues within the Alliance, Dean.”

”Zheng Qing,” the young wizard would not reject this gesture of goodwill, and smiled slightly, ”——You are an elder; you may directly call me by name.”
