High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 2959: Chapter 1177: Purple Aura Rising from the East

Crack, crack!

Crack!

Listening to the crunching that echoed between heaven and earth, the President of the Dark Council let out a low moan from his throat.

”Principal, bless me...”

He murmured, with a bitter smile on his face: ”—Why did I get involved in such a troublesome matter?”

Then he turned his head to look at the tall figure beside him, listlessly adding a muttered sentence: ”—Why did you get involved in such trouble?”

Although KOTOS was new to legend, he was also a seasoned Big Wizard, knowledgeable about many secrets within and outside the Alliance. Naturally, he understood the identity of that panda.

So, at this moment, he also fell silent.

”—If you’re lucky, you’ll only be hunted by the First University. If not, it’ll result in death and annihilation.” The Dark Councilor’s voice was as faint as a whisper, as if he might stop breathing at any moment: ”Why bother? What’s the point?”

He was doing fine as the President of the Dark Council, so why did he have to drag this newly minted legend into his organization?

KOTOS had just been promoted to legend, so why get involved in such a big whirlpool?

For a while, the Elder Wizard’s thoughts twisted and turned, his mind full of worry and melancholy, feeling that destiny was filled with malice against him and the Dark Council—last time in the Black Prison, when the First University fought the Demons, the Dark Council suffered the most losses. And here it is again today, if not careful, even this pillar of the council might meet his end here.

Whoosh!

From the many doors opened in the void, new spheres of light continued to pour in endlessly, but the gigantic face that filled the entire sky did not become clearer, instead, it grew more blurred and uncertain.

Crack, crack!

In the clearing in the forest, that old panda was still holding a rice bowl, picking up one by one ’rice balls’ emitting seven-colored radiance, eating with great relish.

The many legendary figures who should have been the protagonists instead held their breath, concentrating, trying hard to reduce their presence—though the two ancient beings seemed to ignore each other, the legends had already broken free from the chains of destiny, and naturally knew what kind of violent storm was brewing over the river of fate at this moment.

From the closed past, to the infinitely possible future, to the fierce and intense present, every corner of time and the river of destiny, every dimension of the world was filled with the breath of the ancients, in every moment, countless possibilities clashed and perished, while many possibilities were born in collisions.

If not careful, these existences who have not fully broken away from the ’surface’ would be swept back to the bottom by those waves, facing death and disappearance.

Perhaps feeling that eating ’rice balls’ with a bowl was not satisfying enough.

Or maybe simply finding the big face overhead too obnoxious.

The panda in the forest, after eating for a while, suddenly put down the bowl in its hands, took a deep breath, and then lifted its head, suddenly opening its mouth wide, what was originally an ordinary mouth, expanded dramatically after opening, white jade-like fangs glistened in the seven-colored radiance, with just one tear, one pull, one swallow, it seemed as if half the sky had been yanked into its belly, countless little doors opened in the void shattered into pieces in this tearing storm, the desolate real starry sky abruptly appeared in everyone’s sight.

Everyone could see, in that starry sky, the silver hexagram and blue round star appeared particularly striking, as if two small suns, dividing the color of the entire night sky between them.

The gigantic face that covered the sky paused, seemingly caught off guard by the panda’s sudden outburst.

But immediately, several larger, more exquisitely and magnificently decorated doors appeared in the void.

”Yog-Sothoth!”

This time, the voice coming from behind the door was no longer indistinct but had become clear and majestic, and though no one could understand what language it spoke, everyone could comprehend what it intended to express.

Along with the incantation, immeasurable spheres of light poured in an endless stream from behind those large doors, like a flood through an opened gate, and in the blink of an eye, it patched up the sky that the panda had just torn open, once again concealing the real starry sky behind that gigantic and blurred face.

However, this time, the sky no longer had just that one large face.

A blue round star hung brightly and clearly at the ’philtrum’ position of that large face, as if trying to ’silence’ Yog-Sothoth’s voice, making it shut up.

Perhaps due to the Blue Star, the silver hexagram also gradually bloomed, appearing above that large face’s ’Life Palace’, making this face appear even more majestic.

Thus, the sky featured two stars.

And the appearance of these two stars also drew out the other ’stars’ of similar rank.

A golden many-pointed star, a green septagram, a red pentagram, a blood-red sickle-shaped long star, a slightly whitish new star, and a purple twin star all pierced through the concealment of that face, revealed in the sky above Buji Island.

The President of the Dark Council was already completely numb, starting to consider whether to seize the time to write a testament.

The last time he saw such a ’gathering of stars’ scene was last year, when the Sea Demon King Xiang Liu ascended to the ancient beings in the Black Prison, a few major stars briefly appeared in the sky—even then, some major stars were absent.

This time, every ancient being in the world showed up without exception.

Unlike the Elder Wizard who focused on the stars above.

KOTOS was more concerned with the two ancient beings right in front of him, especially that panda who had picked up the rice bowl again, watching it eat heartily, his brows gradually furrowed into a knot.

”—If it keeps eating like this, all the way till the end, won’t it walk down a path similar to the highness of the Starry Sky?” KOTOS nudged the Elder Wizard beside him softly.

The Elder Wizard’s face twitched slightly, taking a small step aside, giving a ’don’t mess with me’ look.

But unable to withstand this bald big guy’s air of ’if you don’t speak up, I’ll ask’, he ultimately could only pinch his nose and throw back a thought: ”—I don’t know! I’m just a small legend!”

This statement made sense.

KOTOS acknowledged with a nod, turning to continue watching the panda eat.

It must be admitted, watching one by one the seven-colored radiance rice balls disappear into the panda’s mouth, along with its delightful eating demeanor, listening to its lip-smacking sounds, this newly minted legend inexplicably felt a sense of satisfaction, as if he could gaze at this scene until the end of time, even finding his mouth moving involuntarily.

The President of the Dark Council finally couldn’t just sit by.

Concealed and swiftly, a thought was thrown over, causing the big guy beside him to stumble. When it turned back, there were already a few strands of blood streaming between its eyes and nose.

”—Do not gaze directly at the starry sky!”

The Elder Wizard’s lips barely moved, casting a stern glance at it.

This was a phrase every wizard encountered at the start of their study of magic, but here, the President of the Dark Council intended to convey something clearly beyond just the starry sky.

And this thought finally knocked a sliver of clarity into KOTOS’s consciousness.

He averted his gaze, drenched in sweat.

”—How much longer must we hold out.” KOTOS’s thought was laced with bitterness and dread.

In contrast, the President of the Dark Council discreetly exhaled in relief, yet the thought cast over carried a hint of a tremble: ”Soon, soon... listen, listen carefully...”

KOTOS pricked up his ears.

Beyond the island, the sea, and the sky, there seemed to be a faint, leisurely song approaching: ”—In the beginning, the path was determined, always present, always absent, gaining naturalness; Purple air comes from the east for thirty thousand miles, the initial crossing of five thousand years in the book...”
