High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 2981: Chapter 25: Age of Chaos

”——This world has no boundaries!”

At No. 49 Gamma Street, in the mansion of Xiangqi Club, Mike Gold Cypress Plano was standing on the podium in the conference room, his hands resting on the desk, gazing sharply at the dense crowd below, his eyes sparkling, his deep voice reverberating like muffled thunder in this not-so-large room:

”——Some people always say the benefits of the world have been taken by the elders, that the fertile lands of the new world have all been divided by legends, and we have no future!

Completely wrong!

At the end of the Red Sea is the blue sea, and beyond the blue sea is the sky! This is a dynamic world, where every particle is in eternal motion, a rule rooted in the fundamental operations of the world! Even in human society, separated from those particles by countless dimensions, we cannot escape this rule!

In this world, nothing is truly solidified, and nothing is eternally unchanging! Steam rises, lava flows, stars rotate, and society transforms!

This world breathes every minute, every second! This earth grows every hour, every moment! Can you not feel the surging Magic Tide? They howl in each of our ears, telling us not to stand still, not to shrink back! We are not those spoiled aristocratic disciples, who can gain abundant magical resources even if they do nothing their whole lives, but we cannot, we have nothing but the pioneering spirit of adventure!”

Andrew Taylor sat in the front row below——one of the seats closest to Plano——listening seriously to the last speech of Augustus before leaving Xiangqi Club presidency and Blood Comrades, yet he had so many complaints inside.

For those who are unclear of the situation, just hearing this impassioned speech, they might think they’ve arrived at the recruitment conference of Edge Academy!

’Not aristocratic disciples’, ’spirit of adventure’, ’transformation’, these words can be said by Edge Academy, Starry Sky Academy, even Jiuyou Academy——but Alpha Academy? Is it really appropriate that the head of Alpha Academy’s most prestigious student organization, Blood Comrades, which emphasizes lineage and talent, says this?

Augustus’s status in the past two years hasn’t made Plano a bit more conservative; instead, he has become even more radical than at the beginning.

A shadow flickered before Andrew Taylor’s eyes, and he subtly shrank back a little, then realized it was the shadow of Plano’s waving arm on stage. The speaker’s broad frame was like a small mountain, and as he paced back and forth on the stage, he would occasionally block the brilliant sunlight coming in from outside, leaving a dense, swaying black shadow in the conference room.

”——So what should we do?”

Gloria, sitting on Andrew’s other side, asked instinctively——she was the vice-chairwoman of Xiangqi, though not a member of Blood Comrades, she probably best fits the group described by Plano——so she easily grasped the message Plano wanted to convey in today’s speech: ”...Tulip and Avengers both sent me invitations. Should I decline?”

Tulip and Avengers are top hunting teams, alongside God Zhou, Xianqin, Holy Tang, Cross, plus Xiling hunting team. These seven major hunting teams are known in the Wizard World for having Legendary Wizards, and similarly, they have very close ties with First University. Every year, a large number of graduates join these super hunting teams, providing them with a continual supply of new blood. Correspondingly, these teams also respond to First University’s call to a certain extent, maintaining a kind of quasi-strategic alliance.

Gloria seemed to struggle when she mentioned the word ’decline’.

After all, before this, being recruited by a super hunting team in the new world after graduation was the second-biggest dream for most young wizards from First University, second only to staying at the university. And receiving olive branches from two super hunting teams simultaneously fully illustrates her capability.

Plano remained silent.

He just pulled a stack of invitation letters from his pocket and displayed them to his companions——Tulip, Cross, Avengers, Xianqin, Holy Tang, God Zhou, Xiling——then, under everyone’s gaze, he tore them apart.

”The world is indeed changing. However, we should be clear that this change doesn’t happen overnight, it’s not within arm’s reach, nor easily achieved.”

Plano’s thick eyebrows rose, and his small, dark eyes shimmered with profound light; his drooping cheeks slightly squeezed upwards, revealing a faint smile with a sinister feel: ”——The higher you go in Order, the more solidified it becomes. If we enter these super hunting teams, the only result will be a slow assimilation into their Order, eventually becoming a talisman in the existing system, within which we can only eat the leftovers from others’ fingers, and it’s almost impossible to have a chance to transcend! So the first step to breaking the rules is not to walk into the rules... but to learn how to make rules!”

”Make rules?” Andrew mumbled, repeating the phrase.

”How do we make rules? Just by ourselves?” Gloria couldn’t help but look around, seeing the youthful and bewildered faces surrounding her, losing all confidence.

Plano pointed outside the window.

”Go to the new world! Seek out the blue sea beyond the Red Sea, the blue sky beyond the blue sea, and the starry sky beyond the blue sky!” He affirmed with confidence to the young wizards before him: ”——There will eventually be a piece of sky for us, and our rules will begin from there!”

...

...

”Aren’t you planning to go to the new world?”

In the resting room of Karen’s family, Matthew looked at his cousin, dressed impeccably in a tailcoat, with a puzzled face: ”I heard that Uncle Zhang Zhi and Plano, they’ve already gone over there... Zhao Qiao, Jiang Hua, Hoffman, Commander, Deng Xiaojian, they’ve all gone too!”

Matthew tallied up the relatively well-known younger generation he could think of, only to be astonished to find that most of them were already or were preparing to head to the new world, while his famous cousin, Sir Friedman, planned on taking a gap year.

And not just a year.

From the way he talked, it seemed like this gap was counted in decades.

”They went, and then what?” Friedman glanced at him, pulling at the corners of his mouth.

And then?

Matthew was taken aback for a moment.

”Immortality, we have it. Wealth, we lack none. Magic is a process of gradual accumulation.”

Lord Knight’s shoulders rose slightly: ”——If I were a wandering minstrel fond of drifting, perhaps I’d wander the new world. But I am not. This world is like a river, with water flowing above, fish swimming in it, and beautiful pebbles lying quietly at the bottom.”

With this, he patted the shoulder of his young cousin, and added a meaningful sentence: ”We are the Moonlit Clan, so don’t stray too far from the moon.”
