High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 2961: Chapter 1179: Return to School

When the purple aura comes from the east.

The First University was the first to sense the subtle change in the atmosphere.

The already activated Array became increasingly bright, seemingly wanting to showcase its achievements to someone. Shortly after, the few Legends who had invoked the ’Forbidden Curse Treasure’ also noticed the arrival of the purple aura.

”The principal is back.”

Elder Ruoyu took off the Xuanhuang Tower from his head and exhaled deeply.

”Tsk... He still knows to come back!”

Shi Hui pouted, lowered her head, raised her hand to draw out a red hairband, tied up her hair that was just loose, and silently returned to her little girl appearance.

”Finally back.”

Professor Yao caressed the big seal in his arms, glanced nervously at the rapidly shrinking ’big face’ above, while quickly peeking at the green Septagram on the other side, his expression complicated.

”With the principal back, Buji Island is peaceful! With the principal back, there’s a blue sky!” The Dark Council Chairman at the edge of the shore celebrated with his hand at his forehead, muttering to himself, looking as if he escaped a disaster.

Beside him, KOTOS was earnest in correcting him: ”—With the principal’s return, shouldn’t it be a ’purple sky’? Why is it the blue sky?”

The Dark Council Chairman turned his head, refusing to talk to it.

...

...

”Oh dear, Old Wu is back?... He actually hasn’t left? Truly strange and bizarre!”

The plump giant panda wobbled back to school, muttering in confusion while occasionally turning to glance at the purple color in the sky, with a puzzled expression. Then it relaxed and stared at Yog-Sothoth shrinking into a corner of the sky, with a hint of schadenfreude on its face: ”—However, with Old Wu back, Bubble is going to suffer!”

”Nicolas and Nya’s Child have also come, Bubble won’t suffer much.”

Suddenly, an elderly voice echoed near the panda’s ears. It turned, spotting an elder with a white beard and hair, tall figure, clad in a simple white robe, holding a long wooden staff, standing at the school gate. Noting the panda’s mocking gaze, the Elder Wizard paused, added: ”—Of course, provided Old Wu cares about this school.”

”If he didn’t care, why weave so many patterns into destiny?”

The panda grinned, showing two rows of beautiful fangs, wobbled past the elder: ”—And you, Abraham, to leave your hut and come to Buji Island, aren’t you afraid the bustling mortal realm will dirty your robe?”

”In the Wizard World, there is no place cleaner than where these children are.” The Elder Wizard replied calmly.

The panda rolled its eyes, stuck out its tongue, displaying a disgusted look.

...

...

Under the purple aura.

Zheng Qing still followed beside his mentor, keeping pace.

Upon hearing the mentor’s explanation, the young wizard instinctively turned his gaze to the green Septagram on the left bank of the Milky Way, revealing a look of realization: ”—So, that green Septagram is Nicolas?”

The boy on the mentor’s other side trembled slightly in those web-like cracks on his face.

He lowered his eyelids, discreetly swallowed.

Did not dare raise his head to look at the green star in the sky.

Simultaneously, he felt, perhaps only the young man walking beside this elder, could unwittingly and fearlessly dare speak the true name of the Mother of All. If it were an ignorant person, being so rude before the Mountain Goat of the Forest that nurtured thousands of offspring, their belly might have grown big long ago, spraying out a litter of pomegranate-like offspring.

”It’s Nicolas Highness.”

The mentor slightly corrected Zheng Qing’s words while affirming his judgment: ”But you’re not wrong, that green star is her...and the silver Hexagram is Yog, whom you met not long ago during lessons.”

Leviathan felt sourness enveloping his body.

As one of the three siblings of the Dark Beast, he had always been proud of his lineage and bloodline, even disdainful of those ancient clans passed down for thousands of years in the Alliance.

But today’s brief accompanying shattered that pride thoroughly. ℯℯ𝑙.

For most Wizards, ancient entities they may never encounter in a lifetime were merely part of a certain small wizard’s course content. And the legend, achieved through a millennium of cumulative effort, was accomplished within two short years by a newcomer to the Wizard World.

Similar to Leviathan’s complex feelings.

Zheng Qing also felt a slightly subtle disparity and impact—the ’course’ the mentor referred to had been over a year ago for him, and those few lessons left such a profound impression, but definitely did not occur ’not long ago’.

The mentor glanced at Leviathan, then at Zheng Qing, suddenly chuckled.

”Life is intrinsically interesting.”

His tone carried a touch of contemplation, seemingly addressing Zheng Qing, yet also speaking to Leviathan: ”—An infant and a ten-year-old child have a world of difference; but a ninety-year-old and a hundred-year-old elder are not much different. While the time difference seems the same, the world’s perception is vastly different. Cultivation is alike. In the magical path, registered wizards or Big Wizards are still just children... but ancient ones are uniformly ancient.”

At this point, he paused, his gaze sweeping across both banks of the Milky Way, finally resting in the direction of the First University: ”—A newborn child is like a blank sheet of paper, leaving a very visible mark with just a stroke. Once matured, this paper is full, and leaving new marks becomes exceedingly difficult. The higher the rank, the more complete the understanding of the world, the more solidified one’s worldview, and the harder it becomes to change. Do any of those big stars on both sides of the Milky Way dare to cross the river to the opposite bank?”

The seven stars listened brightly.

The legends on Buji Island listened thoughtfully.

Leviathan listened with brows furrowed.

Zheng Qing listened confusedly—perhaps he had the lowest rank among those who heard, yet he was the clearest one, inexplicably reminded of the blank paper the mentor spoke of, oddly feeling the marks on his own paper must be vividly prominent and profound.

Compared to such profound topics in Philosophy of Magic, the young wizard preferred discerning the identities of those big stars across the Milky Way. The three on the left bank he’d already recognized, the four on the right bank he had approximate guesses for.

”—The white nova is R’lyeh... if His Highness can be called that, then the red pentagram must be the Demon Ancestor?” Zheng Qing instinctively lowered his voice, leaned closer to the mentor: ”I have always thought the blood-red star was the Demon Ancestor’s.”

A gigantic panda head suddenly appeared before him.

”I too have always believed that.” It satisfactorily gazed at the young wizard, appearing delighted: ”Compared to Abraham, the Demon Ancestor has truly been demonized...”

The Elder Wizard in the white robe, leaning on a wooden staff, silently appeared next to the panda, slightly bowing to the mentor.

Zheng Qing felt a chill hitting his face, involuntarily shivered.
