High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 2968: Chapter 1186: Conclusion

Although Leviathan was silently burdened with grief, he dared not show any screw-up on the surface. After receiving the gentleman’s decree, without hesitation, he immediately cut his finger and squeezed the blood to sign his name on the attaché page.

Zheng Qing didn’t know what kind of script he wrote, only feeling that it twisted and turned like blooming little flowers. The writing order was not from left to right but followed a path akin to an Archimedes spiral, starting from the center of the attaché page and winding around three more circles, until the page was crammed full, then stopped.

Then he respectfully handed the Law book back to Zheng Qing.

When Zheng Qing looked at it again, the long signature Leviathan had just written was gone. Left behind on the attaché page were only three tiny words, ”Leviathan,” placed under the gentleman’s three ’rules’.

The handwriting was bright red, as if the blood was still slowly flowing.

The eyes of the legendary wizards subtly and swiftly swept over Leviathan, without discovering anything amiss. The ancient beings’ gaze was profound, crossing the river of fate, directly falling onto the intricate dimensional space, faintly seeing several red lines indistinctly mingled with the truths and rules of this world, as if they had existed for eternity.

Marvelous indeed.

To the extent of the path.

Following Leviathan, Kotos, the Black Snail, Six Fingers, the Witch Demon King, and others, the legends signed their true names on the attaché page, one after another, and no one raised any objections.

Until all the legends’ names in the hall were finished, there was still a large blank space at the bottom of the attaché page.

The gentleman’s gaze swept over the three guests from the starry sky and looked at the still nervous legendary wizards behind him; his voice seemed particularly calm: ”——You all climbed up from low-level wizards and should know the gap between levels is not proportional. As the level increases, the gap between levels changes exponentially. This means that the distance between me and the legend is even farther than that between the legend and the registered wizard. Registered wizards might have a very slim hope of resisting the constraints of a legendary level contract, but you have no chance of escaping the bindings from the bottom rules of the world. If you can break free from those rules, you can also leave this world.”

This was a warning.

And advice as well.

As he spoke, the Order Book left Zheng Qing and slowly floated toward the first ancient one, Yog-Sothoth, or as Zheng Qing saw, Miss Bubble.

She had a dark face, and the door above her head made a faint creaking sound as if the wind outside was about to blow it open the next second. The spheres on the door, shining with billions of rays of light, trembled restlessly, looking like they would fall at any moment.

But in the end, the door did not open, and the light spheres did not fall.

Nya’s Child took the Order Book over Miss Bubble, signed her name first.

”——Wish you a pleasant journey.”

She subtly nodded at the gentleman, her tuft of hair drooping, and with a voice of metallic vibration wished, then disappeared from the spot in a flash. Under the ceiling, the golden many-pointed star vanished at the same moment.

After Nya’s Child, Nicolas also signed his name with a smile.

Then Miss Bubble.

Demon Ancestor. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ

R’lyeh.

Panda.

Finally, it was the white-robed elder wizard.

”——These few rules alone cannot guard the First University forever.”

Before signing, Abraham looked solemnly at the gentleman, seemingly trying to persuade him to abandon this slightly brutal simple idea: ”Think about the Yin Yang Path that traverses the universe; wizards have managed to gnaw out special small holes in it, forcibly elevating the thin line between Yin and Yang to a third characteristic... how long can these few artificial rules of yours last?”

”Things always develop and change. Why should I expect them to persist indefinitely?” the gentleman smiled slightly: ”If these few rules collapse before the First University has enough power to protect itself, then it might be time for it to meet its end. After all, we all know from individuals to worlds, everyone will die.”

Abraham did not continue to argue.

Silently left His name.

Then along with that blood-colored, scythe-like long star, disappeared in the First Hall.

The gentleman took back the Order Book, looked at it, nodded slightly, placed a page of a leaf into the book, then tossed the book into Zheng Qing’s arms.

”Take good care of it... from now on, it’s yours.”

Having said that, he turned his head to look at the legendary figures in the school, his gaze first landing on Lady Shi Hui: ”——If I were not planning to leave, your ideas could be tried. But since I’m not around, the school cannot withstand overly radical reforms. In everything, one must think twice before acting.”

Maintaining the look of a little girl, Shi Hui puffed up her cheeks, but finally said nothing.

The gentleman’s gaze finally fell on Elder Ruoyu: ”——In my absence, you have managed the school well. I know you want to ask something. Non-ancients can hardly bear the cause and effect of the First University president... matters like this should be left to chance. That old panda will replace me and look after the school a bit, don’t be too worried. That’s all.”

He took a final glance at this familiar auditorium.

He embraced the cat.

Held Zheng Qing’s shoulder.

Turned around and disappeared from the hall.

Disappearing along with him was Professor Montreya, also known as ’Primordial’.

Leviathan stood there dully, touching the web-like cracks on his face, exhaling a long breath, and suddenly didn’t know whether to feel thankful or annoyed.

In his ears, the soft whispers between the legends started to sound, two by two.

”——That child is...”

”——I remember he was following Miss Jiang Family to Shanglin Garden for the Spring Hunting before, reportedly still studying at the First University, called Zheng Qing... seems like the gentleman’s last disciple.”

”——Is it him?”

”——Such incredible luck!”

”——Eh? I heard that he and Su Councilor already have a child?”

”——Leave the affairs of the juniors to the juniors themselves, we adults should not meddle.”

”——Indeed, indeed... anyway, congratulations, congratulations!”

Leviathan curled his lips, looking at the legendary figures clustered around Elder Mrs. Jiang and Qingqiu Ancestor—at such times, legends and ordinary wizards appear similarly clumsy and hypocritical—only felt compared to those insincere faces, how genuine he was.

”Let’s go.”

Behind him came the reminder of the multi-armed giant Kotos. Turning around, he just saw the Black Snail transformed into a black beam and disappeared on the spot, and the Dark Council Chairman with a smile following beside: ”——This place is ultimately not suitable for us.”

Indeed.

Leviathan had reason to believe that if the Witch Demon King of the Land of Desolation had not followed the ancients and the gentleman to leave first, then the guests surrounding the legends of the First University would not hesitate to lend a hand to help the Alliance to eliminate one of the greatest risks in the wizard world.
