Chapter 2081: Chapter 302: Three-Way Deal

The Black Cat’s roaring airflow was like a gust of storm, almost suffocating Mammon.

He could clearly see the Black Cat’s bright red throat, like a black hole, with its tongue adorned with iron thistle-like barbs, and its mouth full of sharp white teeth.

He could also clearly feel the Black Cat’s irritable mood at the moment.

But none of these were reasons for him to give up his ’legitimate rights,’ so, despite being sprayed all over with the Black Cat’s saliva, Mammon did not take a step back and bravely faced it head-on.

This made him look as if he was planning to dive into the Black Cat’s mouth.

”Twelve pieces, not a single Copper less!” he shouted, his tone very firm: ”Within the permissible range, I’ve already offered the best possible conditions... this is the final bottom line!”

Likewise, the Black Cat’s tough stance also did not soften in the slightest.

”Just eleven pieces, not a Copper more!” It huffed, glaring, its eyes swept over Mammon maliciously, seemingly pondering which piece of flesh would be easier to bite.

The two sides stared at each other without moving for several minutes, locked in a stalemate.

Finally, the Sin Bearer couldn’t hold back any longer and coughed lightly.

”Ahem,” he adjusted the duck egg-shaped mask on his face and tried to mediate: ”Everyone’s time is precious... so, let’s compromise a bit, both take a step back, one gold bean for six Silver Horns, Black Cat, you give three more Silver Horns, and Mammon, you take three less...”

”Absolutely not!”

The Wizard in the Fox Mask firmly refused: ”This is a desecration of tradition, an insult to mathematics, and a sacrilege to my mask!”

”Not a single Copper more!”

After saying that, the Black Cat seemed to think of something, sneered and shrank its body: ”Either take eleven gold beans, and the contract is completed, or... hehe.”

It drooped its tail, leisurely pacing back and forth twice in front of the Fox: ”Everyone says debtors are the boss, let’s see if you can find me to collect the debt in three months!... If you can find me, that is!”

Mammon’s mask suddenly turned dark.

”We have a signed contract!” he gritted his teeth and said, word by word.

”Who believes in a Devil’s contract?” the Black Cat scoffed, its words more threatening than its sharp fangs: ”I have a hundred ways to get out of this contract...”

These words were not just empty boasts.

After all, this was just a ten gold bean deal, not worth using any high-level contracts. If determined, spending three to five jade coins would always find a way to wash the name off the contract.

”Give me two jade coins, and I’ll help you solve the contract problem!” Mammon suddenly changed his tune.

The Black Cat widened its eyes and looked at him.

”I am a cat, but that doesn’t mean I’m stupid!” Its voice was full of suspicion: ”Clearly, it’s a matter of one jade coin, why would you think I’d give two jade coins?”

The Sin Bearer, watching these two talents, finally couldn’t bear it, sighed deeply, and with a flicker of his figure, created two specters, one to the left and one to the right.

One pulled Mammon aside, setting up a sound insulation barrier; the other crouched in front of the Black Cat, also raising a sound insulation barrier.

”That cat is completely neurotic... I barely touched its cat, and it nearly killed me!” The Sin Bearer communicated with Mammon, first aligning with the Fox in shared outrage, then subtly reminded: ”So I think he is serious, to avoid giving you one less gold bean, it might be willing to spend an extra jade coin.”

The Wizard in the Fox Mask was a bit flustered at this moment too.

”It’s greedier than a Devil!” he muttered a few curses but still insisted: ”Twelve gold beans, really can’t be less...”

”Besides gold beans, can you accept other forms of payment?” The Sin Bearer offered another option.

Mammon seemed intrigued: ”Hmm, if the value is equivalent...”

On the other side.

The Sin Bearer, squatting in front of the Black Cat, also earnestly persuaded: ”Think about it, the initial gold, nine out and thirteen back, you paid four gold beans in interest... Now, only needing to pay twelve is equivalent to paying one less, what is there to be dissatisfied with? After all, you don’t need that money.”

”But the contract clearly stipulates the penalty interest is three gold beans.” The Black Cat mumbled to itself, counting with its paws: ”I receive nine, he takes three gold beans as interest, doesn’t that add up to eleven? My math isn’t wrong!”

The Sin Bearer tilted his head.

”If,” he made a calming gesture: ”If the other party is willing to accept forms of payment other than gold beans, would you be willing to provide something of equivalent value?... I say this because in evaluating prices, there is room for maneuver here, maybe something you feel is worth eleven gold beans, the other side thinks purchasing it for twelve gold beans is quite a deal.”

This proposal was quite novel.

The Black Cat flicked its tail in interest: ”Such as?”

The Sin Bearer seemed to have prepared his speech, responding quickly: ”For example, exclusive talismans, exclusive amulets, exclusive minor evil curses, exclusive magic script analysis, exclusive information, or like last time, the deal with ’Lazy One,’ helping with assignments... these ’products’ have ’mutually acceptable’ price space.”

The Black Cat tugged at its ears.

Assignments were indeed a good example, in ’Lazy One’ Belfinger’s eyes, they were worth 120 gold beans, but for Xiao Xiaoeye, they were only worth 20 gold beans, so a hundred gold beans easily went into its pocket, truly happily earned.

But right now Doctor Xiao needed to be busy with a twenty-gold bean task, seemingly having no extra time to take more assignments, the Black Cat thought regretfully.

As for the others, whether talismans, self-created spells, or magic script analysis, all were prone to revealing identity.

However, there was one piece of information it had.

And this piece of information it planned to discuss with the ’Duck Egg Mask’ later, selling it now seemed like a good idea.

”How is information valued?” it squatted in front of the Sin Bearer, playing with a beetle crawling slowly in front of it, flipping the little guy onto its back, leaving it helpless and struggling in vain.

The Wizard glanced at the pitiful beetle.

”You can tell me the information, I’ll evaluate and purchase it, then sell it to Mammon.” His tone was upbeat, and his response swift, obviously not the first time doing broker business: ”We have a complete set of contract services for transactions like these.”

The Black Cat raised its paw and stroked its whiskers.

It thought this gesture would make it look more mature.

”Hmm, sounds good.”

The Black Cat pondered for a moment, then eventually nodded and mumbled: ”Since that’s the case... I have a piece of information about a group of Wizards wearing Raven Masks... wonder if anyone is interested.”
