High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 2055: Chapter 276: 9 Hunting Teams

”As a young hunting team that was established less than two years ago, won the new team’s championship, and participated in the Black Prison battle, Absolution is more widely known for their current mentor—a member of the Moon Council, Su Shijun!”

The cheers around suddenly became much more enthusiastic.

Zheng Qing squinted towards the podium, vaguely seeing Su Shijun’s figure, perhaps that’s why the atmosphere at the scene was particularly high.

”...During the six ’selection matches’ held from midnight on October 10th to 24 hours on October 15th, Absolution Hunting Team scored 100 points in the first match (against Ghouls), 100 points in the second match (against Zu Ge), 90 points in the third match (against Nightmares), 66.66 points in the fourth match (against Tingdalous’ hunting dogs), 80 points in the fifth match (against Air Fish), and 90 points in the sixth match (against Cold Spiders).”

”The final score for the selection matches is calculated using the same logic as a single match.”

”Eliminate the highest score of 100 points, eliminate the lowest score of 66.66 points, sum the remaining four scores then average them... then the final score for Absolution Hunting Team in the six selection matches is—90 points!”

On the podium, the puppet’s voice screamed hoarsely, drawing bursts of enthusiastic cheers, uproar, and applause from the stands. How much of this was for the Absolution Hunting Team, and how much was for their mentor, Zheng Qing could not know.

He was following the braided witch closely, step by step, into the center of the hunting ground.

To the left was the sixth ranked Judgement Hunting Team, then further left in order were Atlas Academy Team, Starry Sky Academy Team, Jiuyou Academy Team, Alpha Academy Team, and the first place, First University Team.

The Judgement Hunting Team captain was Erwin Hoffman, last year’s school hunting party’s best hunter titleholder, once one of the Sacred Will’s Three Heroes. Noticing the new hunting team, he slightly frowned, his expression somewhat gloomy—which matched Zheng Qing’s impression of this half-blood werewolf perfectly.

The Atlas Hunting Team captain was a witch in a plain yellow robe, boasting beautiful platinum long hair, with a silver cross hanging around her neck. No matter how noisy the stands, she remained with her head bowed, seeming to be asleep standing.

Zheng Qing did not know that witch.

Perhaps because of innate prejudice, he maintained a certain polite distance from any religious fanatics, and the subtle rumors in the academy further intensified this mindset, so that after more than a year at school, the yellow-robed individuals he knew were very few.

Further left, the captain of the Starry Sky Academy Team was a black-haired boy wearing a blue vest, carrying a long gun, with tight muscles covering his whole body. Zheng Qing remembered him as Jiang Hua, a third-year veteran at Starry Sky Academy—he remembered because Jiang Hua had a girlfriend at Jiuyou Academy and often visited the academy.

Feeling a sidelong glance, Jiang Hua tilted his head slightly, and nodded to the young cost student as a greeting.

Zheng Qing didn’t know where to put his eyes—seriously greeting in this occasion seemed inappropriate; not greeting seemed impolite—fortunately, he slightly shifted his gaze to his side, landing on Jiuyou Academy Team, and the young wizard immediately pretended to forget the confusion of a second ago.

The captain of Jiuyou Academy Team, Zhao Qiao, was also once one of the Sacred Will’s Three Heroes. Zheng Qing had little communication with him; but the captain of Alpha Academy Team to the left of Jiuyou, Zheng Qing was very familiar with, it was Sir Friedman, cousin of Matthew, once one of the Alpha Gemini.

After Sepulano became the new ’Augustus’ of the Blood Comrades, Sir Friedman quickly became the captain of Alpha Academy Team. Absolution internally discussed these two appointments more than once, finally judging it was Alpha’s method for balancing Sepulano’s radical reform faction.

Keep in mind, before this, the Alpha Academy student council president and the Alpha Academy Team’s captain were both ’Augustus’—the student council president, hunting team captain, and Blood Comrades president, the true Augustus was a triune position—but now, the student council president and Blood Comrades president went to Sepulano, yet the hunting team captain fell to Friedman, indicating Alpha’s internal disagreements were larger than most people guessed.

As for the captain of the First University Team, Zheng Qing was even more familiar, it was Zhang Ji Xin’s brother, the new Thunder Sage, Uncle Zhi. In a sense, Jiuyou also had similar troubles as Alpha—such as the captain of Jiuyou Academy Team being Zhao Qiao, the captain of the Judgement Hunting Team being Erwin Hoffman—they all once contended with Uncle Zhi for the ’Thunder Sage’ position.

But with three titles on him—’School Team Captain’, ’Sacred Will President’, ’Student Council President’—Uncle Zhi’s confidence was obviously more solid than Sepulano.

”...Campus Cup selection match eighth place—Xiangqi Hunting Team—looking to enter!”

Zheng Qing suddenly turned his head, following everyone’s gaze towards the hunting ground entrance, indeed, seeing that familiar chubby figure.

The founder of Xiang Qi Club, Alpha student council president, current Blood Comrades Augustus—Mike Gold Cypress Plano.

Even without the Alpha Academy Team, he still carried his self-created hunting team into the Campus Cup finals. From this angle, Xiangqi Hunting Team and Absolution actually had more in common, since Xiangqi Hunting Team was only founded a year earlier than Absolution.

However, losing Sepulano and Friedman, the two core figures, the Blood Comrades’s Hemophilia Hunting Team unexpectedly got eliminated in the selection match, becoming one of the two biggest upsets in this year’s Campus Cup.

This is why Sepulano has never been widely recognized in Alpha Academy—keep in mind, Augustus is the Augustus of Blood Comrades, not Augustus of Xiang Qi Club. But now, Sepulano seems more interested in managing his Xiang Qi Club.

The other major upset of this Campus Cup is the ninth place in the selection match.

”...Campus Cup selection match ninth place—Fringe Hunting Team—entering!”

This time, after the puppet’s shout, there was a slightly cold response from the stands. Not that the audience was too harsh on this brand new hunting team, but that they really knew very little about it. Because of its short founding time, Fringe Hunting Team even didn’t have its own fan club yet.

Fortunately, the Hunting Committee considered this point, and organized some ’audience’ related to Fringe Hunting Team members, like the Northern District Wizard Group led by Korma, the Gypsy Witch Coven, and the old professor who teaches fishman language, Abu Garcia, who also brought some young fishmen, vigorously cheering for Fringe Hunting Team.

When Zheng Qing watched Nicholas leading his hunters—Liu Fei Fei, Carmen, Iseni, Lin Yan—towards the center of the hunting ground, on the podium, the puppet was broadcasting the Fringe Hunting Team’s achievements with its sharp voice.
