High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 2061: Chapter 282: Correct Principles

The teacher of magical zoology on the podium was talking incessantly. Below the podium, the gradually uneasy students began whispering to one another, holding their textbooks.

Zheng Qing also slowly furrowed his brows.

However, what concerned him wasn’t that the teacher’s lecture had deviated, but that the content of the ’deviation’ was unexpectedly interesting, like a drop of water falling into a boiling oil pot, causing thoughts to burst forth one after another in his already tumultuous mind.

”Teacher? Did you pick up the wrong notes?” Finally, a brave student raised their hand, pointing out that the young lecturer on stage was reading inconsistent content.

The magical zoology teacher froze for a few seconds, seriously flipping through the notes in his hand.

”Ah, I’m really sorry.”

He scratched his head, a apologetic smile appearing on his round face: ”I don’t know who slipped part of the ’Philosophy of Magic in Divination’ into my notes... Hmm, it’s okay, just remember the part from earlier... Let’s continue... hmm hmm, small pieces of bread can make the three heads of a three-headed dog quarrel...”

The audience below erupted in good-natured laughter.

But this did not include Zheng Qing and Jiang Yu, the two young hunters of absolution looking at each other with a hint of surprise and confusion in their eyes.

Before the class ended, Zheng Qing urgently sent out a flock of paper cranes.

After class, he and Jiang Yu did not go to the library as planned but went straight to D&K, roughly driving off the few customers in the store and giving Hank and Ears Brother a break.

Soon, figures arrived as promised to the store for a gathering.

”You must give me a good reason!”

Before the knocking stopped, Xin Fat Man’s loud voice burst in, making the small shop buzz: ”I was originally mixing a very important magic potion, and because your paper crane persistently pecked my hand, the potion preparation failed... Without a good reason, you must compensate me for the materials!”

Zheng Qing immediately felt apologetic.

But immediately, a question from the witch beside him brought him back to his senses.

”Mixing potions? In the Magic Universe Study class?” Jiang Yu looked surprised at the Fat Wizard squeezing into the room: ”Does Magic Universe Study contain potion class content?”

Xiao Xiao, who was following Xin Fat Man, chuckled.

”Oh? Really?” The Fat Wizard chuckled awkwardly, without a trace of embarrassment on his face: ”Then I might have remembered it wrong... Anyway... what’s the urgent matter for calling us? Have you decided who you want to collaborate with?”

Zheng Qing glared at him fiercely.

”No!”

He resumed looking down at the book in front of him, ”Target - Become a Great Diviner,” and added irritably: ”... let’s talk when everyone is here!”

Xiao Xiao adjusted his glasses, noticing that Zheng Qing and Jiang Yu were both hurriedly flipping through something, curiously leaned forward to glance at the pile of reference books on the table—

”Divination: A History of Fear,” ”Star Signs, Satan’s Lover,” ”The Bronze Age,” ”Astrology, Fate and the Moon,” ”Compass and Compass,” ”Become a Feng Shui Master in Seven Days,” ”The Book of Burial,” ”Three Principles,” ”Meishan Water Master,” ”Meeting Yang Gong,” ”Lai Bu Yi Teaches You to Find Things”

”Is that chassis problematic?” The diviner with absolution keenly sensed the hidden connection between these reference books, all involving the concept of ’Compass.’

”Perhaps.” Zheng Qing was also somewhat uncertain.

Soon, the rest of the hunting team—Zhang Ji Xin, Blue Bird, Dylan, and even Lin Guo—arrived one after the other. Although Zheng Qing hadn’t sent a paper crane to the little warlock, as he had arrived, it didn’t hurt to listen.

”In today’s magical zoology class, we accidentally heard a phrase.”

Once everyone was present, Zheng Qing detailed the ’accident’ in the magical zoology classroom today, precisely repeating the words Gan Ning had said. Jiang Yu occasionally added supplementary explanations, adding many insights obtained from the reference books they had just been searching.

”I didn’t quite understand.”

Taking advantage of Zheng Qing pausing to catch his breath, Xin Fat Man pondered with furrowed brows: ”Do you mean that the Hunting Committee’s ’Compass’ clue is not meant to guide us in direction?”

”To be precise, I think the Hunting Committee does not encourage us to compete for ’chassis’ and ’magnetic spoon.’” Zheng Qing’s expression was a bit serious: ”If they encouraged teams to mutually kill and seize trophies, how would we differ from the beasts in Silent Forest? After all, this is a university.”

Everyone fell silent, contemplating this possibility.

At this critical moment, Zheng Qing suddenly recalled his trial of the Seven Sins and subconsciously added: ”... they should expect us to adhere to some ’moral’ and ’noble’ principles to complete this hunt.”

”For example?” Zhang Ji Xin scratched his head.

Doctor Xiao glanced at him: ”... like ’frugal hunting competition, green campus cup.’ Maybe the school is saving resources, so they let two teams share one compass.”

The room was silent for a few seconds, then everyone burst into laughter.

”It may not necessarily need to align with this Campus Cup’s philosophy.”

Zheng Qing wiped his eyes and rubbed his sore cheeks from laughing—in fact, when he heard the word ’principle,’ the first concept that popped into his mind was ’Order,’ but instantly, the young cost student shook his head, shaking the word out of his mind.

Next, what appeared in his mind was Doctor Xiao’s mention of ’frugality and green,’ which is the ’concept of the event’ for this year’s campus hunting competition. The problem is, what kind of behavior would be considered ’practice’ of this concept?

”Following your line of thought,” Xiao Xiao, rubbing his crystal ball, analyzed: ”I think the principles of the wizards while hunting, and even the school’s educational concept, faculty philosophy, are all possibilities.”

Zheng Qing nodded silently: ”So I gathered everyone... to brainstorm... how everyone interprets that sentence, or what ’concept’ should we practice during the competition.”

The red-faced Warlock lamented: ”When you put it that way, I suddenly feel it’s easier to just snatch the spoon.”

”Correct.”

Jiang Yu spoke suddenly, looking seriously at everyone: ”I mean, we should practice the ’correct’ principles... as long as we do the right thing.”

”That’s too broad.”

Xiao Xiao shook his head: ”Lacking a stance, it’s hard for us to define what behavior is correct, what behavior is wrong... or rather, does unethical yet correct behavior exist?”

Bam!

Zhang Ji Xin slapped the table, interrupting the esoteric discussion: ”All said and done, I just want to know one question, how can we find the real hunting ground?”

For this question, Zheng Qing already had an idea: ”I guess, if we prove the hunting team has ’principles,’ the ’clue’ will lead us directly to the destination.”
