Chapter 1749: Chapter 493 The Destination of 2 Fruits

Moonlight, like water, poured over the flame, emitting a wisp of white smoke akin to that during quenching.

Moments later, the flame receded.

Only a Bone Relic remained, spinning in the void. After circling the gray barrier several times, it transformed into a streak of light, shooting directly towards the stunned Giant Zero Three, embedding itself in the forehead gap left by the disappearance of the Philosopher’s Stone.

Buzz buzz.

The short skeleton resonated with the vibration of bones, as Giant Zero Three slowly raised its head; a flicker of pale light suddenly flashed across the originally dark and empty eye sockets.

Jump, jump, jump.

The pale light leaped repeatedly, finally breaking free from the boundless darkness and emptiness, transforming into a continuously jumping Soul Fire, nimbly and powerfully dancing within the eye sockets.

”Giant Zero Three?” Anglafell gazed at the skeleton regaining its ability to move, a hint of inquiry in her eyes: ”...Or is it Rat Immortal?”

The short skeleton slightly shook its head, then hesitantly moved its limbs.

After a moment, it slowly lifted its head, looked around, and its gaze paused on the gray barrier before grinning: ”Still Rat Immortal... Giant Zero Three sounds unfamiliar.”

”Do you know your mission?” The Ghost Lady asked again.

Giant Zero Three, no, Rat Immortal nodded.

Then he looked at the three-headed and eight-armed Giant Ape not far away, the Soul Fire in his eye sockets dimming somewhat: ”...Really, I’m sorry.”

The Giant Ape silently watched the small skeleton, for a while, repeating the words it had said before like a machine: ”Surrender... Danghag will give you due justice.”

In the distance, ominous roars echoed.

...

...

Before those roars echoed.

When the Druid High Priest of the Dark Council perished under a ’Semi-Forbidden Curse’, and Rat Immortal extorted a Xuanhuang Fruit from the Wandering Wizard.

At the edge of the Black Prison Battlefield.

Eris, always a bystander, hoping to safely leave the Black Prison, suddenly felt her web spread in midair become heavy—this was the reaction when prey fell into the web.

According to the web’s rules, the stronger the prey, the stronger the web’s reaction, and the heavier the feeling it gave her.

This native goddess from the Otherworld couldn’t help but sigh deeply.

Though she was part of the prisoners’ organized revolt, truth be told, she didn’t really want to oppose those terrifying Wizards.

Unlike Behemoth or Sujade, backed by powerful organizations, she was just a weak, pitiful, and helpless little spider who lost her World-source’s favor, with her realm continually declining.

As these thoughts crossed her mind, her body involuntarily flashed beside the prey during the web’s tremor—a passive skill from her long hunting life—whether she intended to oppose the Wizards or not, prey falling into the web should be judged by her.

Then, Eris saw a fist-sized fruit, pale yellow with streaks of blood, that looked like a peach hanging on the web.

The jade-colored little spider paused for a few seconds.

This is the Xuanhuang Fruit.

She could clearly feel the powerful magic surging within the fruit and the tempting aura emanating from it. Every whiff seemed to loudly beckon her to eat, promising that consuming it would restore her to her great divine status, and let her easily escape this dark prison!

During the rebellion initiated by Sujade and Behemoth, they had introduced Eris to these rare treasures in the Black Prison Castle. If Eris claimed she was not tempted by a fruit said to help Wizards break through legendary shackles, she’d be lying. Sujade also emphasized repeatedly that after breaking the Black Prison, she’d have a fruit.

Regarding such promises, Eris turned away and tossed them into the Abyss.

She was very self-aware.

This fruit was too heavy; she couldn’t carry it.

Especially after witnessing those battling and confronting figures on the Black Prison Battlefield today, capturing the tentacles probing from the Deeps of Starry Sky, feeling the fallen breath of fellow Big Wizards from the depths—especially the latter, making the cautious goddess like a startled bird.

She lacked both the confidence to immediately ascend to the Legend after consuming the fruit, and the courage to defy Wizards and Demons’ demands once she got the fruit. But most importantly, she smelled an unsettling scent behind this war.

Whether Wizards or Demons, today they came to the Black Prison for more than these few fruits—this was the innate intuition of a spider goddess expert in treachery and betrayal.

She just wanted to safely leave this vast vortex, before anything ended.

Clearly, those hidden within the shadows noticed this little spider’s intention to withdraw, so they tossed a fruit, sending it directly into the little spider’s web.

Eris stood a few steps from the Xuanhuang Fruit, sneering.

”A joke, thinking a fruit can sway my precious life? It underestimates a native goddess!” she thought indignantly, swiftly hooking and flicking with her slender forelimbs, drawing an exaggerated arc with the semi-transparent web, then forcefully bouncing it. The Xuanhuang Fruit glued to the web was sent back to the depths of Black Prison Battlefield.

Throughout, Eris never touched the fruit.

She watched the departing shadow of the pale yellow fruit avidly, swallowing hard.

”Let you continue to tear each other apart,” thought the beauty on the jade spider’s back, teeth clenched, suddenly hearing cracking sounds overhead, and she ducked her head in fright.

Looking upward.

She saw, far away, the dark beast Leviathan between the Starry Sky and the Black Prison opening its mouth wide, biting down hard, tearing off a small piece of the World, and swallowing it whole.

Within that piece of World, Wizards, Demons, and the materials originally belonging to the Black Prison silently vanished into Leviathan’s massive maw.

The World emitted a painful groan, and a small blank spot appeared in the sky, like a chunk of cheese carved out of a plate, exposing an ugly, flawed scar.

Eris dared to bet with her eight legs that a Xuanhuang Fruit was surely within that small piece of World.

Too terrifying.

This thought flashed through the mind of the foreign goddess, making her shiver unconsciously. The regret over discarding the Xuanhuang Fruit moments ago had completely vanished, replaced by admiration for her decisiveness and restraint.

Because she glanced at Leviathan.

So Eris didn’t see the final destination of the fruit she tossed away.

The Xuanhuang Fruit traced a beautiful arc in the dim moonlight, landing in the middle of the battlefield, on something black and cocoon-like, easily melting into it.

The cocoon was silent for a few seconds.

Then unsettling roars erupted from under the cocoon’s skin.
