High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1731: Chapter 475: Overflowing Blood

”If they’re timid, why would they come to the Black Prison?”

”To us, the Black Prison might be dangerous, but for those Big Wizards, such danger is already very low. Besides, beyond the risk, there’s an extraordinary reward... enough to drive even the most cowardly person mad.”

”Just for a few Xuanhuang Fruits?”

”It’s not as simple as a few fruits... It is said that the Xuanhuang Fruit can help a Big Wizard break through to a legend! Imagine the possibility of becoming a legend in one go... it would drive all Big Wizards crazy.”

”That’s so strange. If the Xuanhuang Fruit is so precious, why are there so few people from the Alliance? As far as I know, those Wizarding Families have quite a few Elderly Ancestors who have been stuck at the peak of Big Wizards for a long time.”

”There are just so few fruits, with each additional force, there’s one more person to share the fruits with... The school is very stingy. Just look at our dorm renovation, in this day and age, the walls are still painted with lime! And the Campus Newspaper’s editorial department, for sightseeing reimbursements, they use standards set a hundred years ago, can you imagine? The consultation fees of the editorial department do not include Non-human Wizards, so after we interview Horse-Men or Fishmen, we can only try to issue a few more meal invoices...”

The young wizards of the Absolution Hunting Team clustered in a shallow pit, discussing in low voices. This shallow pit was the work of a previous Thunder Curse, the bottom of the pit still exuding a burnt smell from the lightning strike, but in such a critical moment, no one would care about such trivial details.

Zheng Qing did not participate in his companions’ discussion, hiding by the Black Cat, watching intently at Zhu Si, who was ’kidnapped’ by the Pureblood Migo, thoughts racing through his mind, thinking of ways to rescue the Little Witch.

Of course, there was another reason he couldn’t voice – after that specially-made Charm Gun was taken away by Shallow Jin Ryoko, the originally fragile internal and external balance was suddenly broken. The Forbidden Spell Aura extracted from the blue gas mass had nowhere to vent, continually oozing from deep within his soul, and as time passed, it had already spread over the entire heart lake sky.

He didn’t know how much longer he could hold on.

The sudden appearance of other Hunters from the Absolution Hunting Team unexpectedly strengthened his psychological endurance, making him feel like he could hold on a bit longer.

So, even though he didn’t speak up, he kept his ears open, listening to the others chat – not participating in the discussion didn’t mean he was uninterested in outside matters – Xin Fat Man’s complaints about the school’s stinginess also reached his ears, causing him to chuckle secretly, lightening his heart slightly.

”Alright, don’t stray too far!”

Dylan interrupted Xin Fat Man’s complaints, steering the topic back to matters related to the Forbidden Curse:

”The Dark Council’s approach is indeed very clever. Last summer, when the Dark Blue Castle was conducting illegal dimension fluctuation experiments, many wizards from the school – including some prosecutors from Danghag – suggested re-examining the ’Forbidden Curse Non-proliferation Treaty’, believing someone in the Alliance exploited the loophole of the treaty... It now seems they have established a new organization to circumvent the contractual constraints? Truly a cunning bunch.”

”I don’t think the Big Wizards or Legendary Wizards of the Alliance would leave such a big loophole in the contract,”

Xiao Xiao adjusted his glasses, denying Dylan’s guess, although he looked equally puzzled: ”If a casual organization can conduct Forbidden Spell research, then the Moon Council or those ancient families of the Alliance wouldn’t have been suppressed by the First University for so long. The entire Wizard World wouldn’t have only a handful of Forbidden Spells.”

Zheng Qing finally couldn’t hold back and joined his companions’ discussion.

”So they’re definitely lying!”

The young public expense student turned his head without hesitation, despising the words of the big Druid with a full beard: ”If they really had Forbidden Spells, then they wouldn’t need to...”

Here, the Warlock immediately got stuck.

He suddenly realized that the matter of him having a Forbidden Curse seed was still a secret he couldn’t reveal to his companions. Naturally, he couldn’t explain why Lord ’Six Fingers’ of the Dark Council coveted him – if they really had a Forbidden Spell, why would they repeatedly target him?

”Don’t need what?” The Fat Man urged.

Zheng Qing stammered, finally stuttering in the Black Cat’s mocking gaze: ”Don’t need... don’t need to risk entering the Black Prison, they just need to find a world that’s already been abandoned and let the Alliance and Demon sides be the witnesses!”

”Perhaps the Dark Council’s Forbidden Curse has significant limitations,” Dylan speculated: ”I remember there are rumors that using a Forbidden Curse consumes the life of a Legendary Wizard... they might not want to waste a Forbidden Curse on a ruin.”

”Where did you hear so many rumors?” Zheng Qing glanced back at a few companions, murmuring softly.

”And the Xuanhuang Fruit.” Xin Fat Man didn’t hear the public expense student’s muttering, instead pinching his chin, continuing to add: ”If they can get some benefits while showcasing their strength, that would be even better... crap!”

The Fat Man glanced at Zheng Qing, suddenly swore.

Almost at the same time, Zhang Ji Xin placed a hand on Zheng Qing’s shoulder, asking solemnly: ”What’s wrong with your eyes? Can you still see?”

Zheng Qing blinked, feeling his companions were making a fuss over nothing: ”Aren’t they just red? It’s not like you haven’t been red before... it’s an old problem of Qi and blood imbalance, nothing serious... crap!”

Dylan silently took out a mirror and put it in front of the public expense student.

Then the Warlock also swore.

Zheng Qing immediately saw those dark red eyes in the mirror, with two scarlet trails slowly descending from the corners. He lifted a hand to wipe it, feeling something slippery. When he held it in front of him, the bright red color on his fingertip was unsettling.

”Is this blood?” The boy muttered, seemingly unwilling to accept what he saw.

”It’s ridiculous.”

Xin Fat Man snorted, bowing his head to rummage through various Magic Potions in his watch folder: ”Some people don’t even realize they’re about to go blind... Doctor, do you think this is a curse or poisoning?”

A curse should burn Talisman Water, poisoning is best treated with the corresponding internal Magic Potion. Xiao Xiao pried open Zheng Qing’s eyelids, frowning, carefully examining, yet not answering immediately.

”A bit of Snake Oil won’t hurt.” Dylan suggested beside him.

Snake Oil, known as the ’panacea’, was used as such in ancient Magic Potion records, although to this day, there is still no strong theoretical support, but many old-school wizards firmly believe in the efficacy of this Magic Potion.

Unlike the flustered Warlocks, the Black Cat, after noticing Zheng Qing’s eyes bleeding, immediately pressed its paw on the boy’s wrist, then furrowed its cat face.

”Open your Grey Cloth Bag!” it ordered sternly: ”That’s the aura leaking out... your Law book can substitute for that gun, hold on for now!”
