High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1747: Chapter 491: No Spear Under the Moon

Life and death, the heaviest rules of this world.

Even in the Magical World, the distance between the two seems particularly vast. So vast that it took a great sorcerer and a top registered wizard straining every nerve just to barely save their beloved.

For some reason.

When seeing the slightly lonely but relaxed rat skeleton outside the gray barrier, Zheng Qing couldn’t help but think of that little red clay teapot that once brewed him.

This made him sincerely murmur once again in his heart:

——Bless Mr.

Answering him was the familiar sound of clock hands ticking.

Tick-tock, tick-tock.

An ominous ticking sound echoed in the air.

The young scholarship student suddenly opened his eyes, shouting in his heart, ”Oh no!”

In an instant, he realized what was about to happen — the Tiber Dragon, possessing the talent to reset time, would certainly prevent the Rat Immortal from using that Xuanhuang Fruit. Besides, that fruit was initially chosen by the Tiber Dragon for itself, only ending up in the Rat Immortal’s hands after being intercepted twice by Zheng Qing and the Wandering Wizard.

In terms of magic theory, that fruit belonged to the Tiber Dragon.

On the battlefield, Zheng Qing wasn’t the only one who heard the ticking of the clock. Including the Rat Immortal, who had already turned into a skeleton. It raised its head, its hollow eye sockets ’staring’ at the Tiber Dragon entwining itself in midair, its humming stopped for a moment.

Even without eyes, anyone could read a hint of panic from its ’eye sockets.’

”Great Rat! Great Rat!”

The rat-like skeleton raised its head and shouted twice, trying to stop the Tiber Dragon from resetting time: ”Do not eat my millet! Do not eat my wheat! Do not eat my seedlings!”

The voice was shrill, like a ghost’s wail.

Invisible magical fluctuations spread in all directions along with its spell, strong yet strange.

Tick... tock... tick... tock.

As if wrapped in a sticky aura, the ticking of the clock hands became intermittent, the sound becoming alternately soft and loud. But all the great sorcerers present knew this obstruction was futile.

Against the Tiber Dragon’s legendary aura of talent magic, any other spells could only delay it slightly, unable to completely erase it.

Only legend can counter legend.

The compassionate face of the three-headed and eight-armed Giant Ape turned, looking at the Rat Immortal, gently sighing; the indifferent face looked at the Bronze Dragon floating midair, twisted like a real hanging clock, expressionless.

Then it suddenly raised its hand, pointing sideways in another direction.

”Break.”

The three faces simultaneously whispered.

An invisible magical wave flashed away, landing on the edge of this battlefield along with that whisper.

A barrier resembling an overturned jade bowl shattered violently, exposing several figures trapped inside, and revealing a ’peaceful’ scene within.

That was the barrier between Su Shijun and Shallow Jin Ryoko, originally opened by Su Shijun to prevent the female demon from wantonly possessing anyone.

Contrary to Zheng Qing’s expectations.

Inside the barrier, there were no scenes of a desperate battle between the female demon and the Moon Council’s upper house member, both parties exhausted.

Su Shijun, Shallow Jin Ryoko, and Jiang Yu, the three witches, were sitting together, each holding a deck of Tarot Cards, quietly discussing something — if they had a plate of seeds and a few bottles of juice, it would look entirely like a girlfriends’ gathering.

Zhang Yu, the teaching assistant of the hunting team, Hilda, and several others were still sleeping soundly on the ground, snoring like thunder.

Seemingly disturbed by the sound of the barrier shattering.

Su Shijun raised her head, revealing an eye filled with a mix of bewilderment and annoyance; Shallow Jin Ryoko’s face unchanged, continued fiddling with the cards in her hand.

Only Jiang Yu, perhaps due to her youth, had a faint blush on her face. Seeming as if she wanted to stand up, but awkwardly looking around, slightly embarrassed, with a trace of an awkward smile on her face.

The upper house member of the Moon Council quickly realized what had happened.

”This body can’t continue fighting.”

The witch pointed at the purple-haired female demon, her fox tail swaying behind, explaining seriously: ”After all, this body is ours, it’s not good to break it... so we decided to settle it with a Tarot Card game.”

The reasoning was passable, but such a near-facetious attitude couldn’t win all the wizards’ understanding. From midair came several cold laughs, from some wizards and demons alike.

But Councillor Su didn’t care.

Professor Yao was also indifferent.

He merely looked calmly at Su Shijun, saying two words:

”Under the moon.”

”So soon?” A hint of surprise appeared on the witch’s face: ”And do we really have to? I thought it was just a formality... What about it? It’s very dangerous.”

She gestured to the purple-haired female demon before her.

The Giant Ape cast a glance at the female demon, casually replying: ”Doesn’t matter... If she behaves quietly, the school won’t bother her afterward.”

Under everyone’s gaze, the purple-haired female demon immediately raised her hands, indicating she would be very well-behaved.

Su Shijun finally had no other excuse.

She sighed, unhesitatingly raising her hand, pointing upward. A thin green magical mark shot towards the sky, with a ’pop,’ blooming into a nine-tail fox symbol like a flower.

Subsequently, four other marks rose from various positions on the battlefield — the scarlet of the Karen Family, the black of the Tabbot Family, the yellow of the Gongsun Family, the blue of the Ghost Tribe.

The five upper house members of the Moon Council marked their respective positions.

The five marks rapidly converged after ascending into the sky.

Su Shijun’s hands danced gracefully like butterflies, bringing a cluster of misty blue-green light; four fox tails behind her spread wildly, exuding the power belonging to a great sorcerer.

A lingering chant echoed across the battlefield, cold and enchanting:

”The sky brings the moon tonight!”

Simultaneously, several other incantations harmonized, resounding from different positions on the battlefield:

”Wash the world once more!”

”Stars yield their brilliance!”

”Wind and dew reveal elegance!”

”Transform the human realm!”

Along with the chants, Su Shijun transformed into a halo of hazy light, directly flying towards where the five marks converged. Correspondingly, a bold red light, a deep black light, a rich yellow light, and a quiet blue light also soared, converging in one place, collectively reciting the final spell:

”Gracefully is the Jade Capital!”

With the spell concluded, a bright moon appeared in the air, easily suppressing the two suns in the sky, the pure moonlight cascading down like water, sweeping over city heads, wilderness, and smoke, the Legendary suppression instantly enveloped the entire battlefield.

Both in aura and majesty, far surpassing the Tiber Dragon who could cast magic with a legendary hue, even comparing favorably to the two vice principals of the First University, or the President of the Moon Council, and even the Sea Demon King.

In the moonlight, faintly visible were five distinctive shadow forms, like flying foxes, like heavenly wolves, with bat wings, revealing ghostly shapes, turning into Drought Demons. A divine man also resided within the moon palace, his aura lofty and his appearance blurred, holding a Jade Talisman, which he casually threw down:

”Decree!”

”Noble shadow, lowly jade, under the moon no sword!”
