High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1740: Chapter 484: The Fruits

As everyone knows.

The direct cause of the Demons attacking the Black Prison is that a certain Ancient Tree in the Black Prison World blossomed and bore fruit, and its fruit greatly aids in purifying the bloodline of the Great Demon and overcoming the shackles of the Big Wizard.

Though there’s always some deeper reason behind the direct cause.

But right now, no one is interested in such heavy topics.

Everyone’s attention is focused on the sky above the Inner Castle.

Above the Inner Castle, the stream of light falling towards the horizon like a meteor shower becomes the most dazzling and radiant focal point on the entire Black Prison Battlefield, and the Black Prison World.

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven.

Seven streams of light in total, representing seven fruits, scatter in all directions. The pale yellow glow interspersed with threads of bright red hanging in the stream of light is the bit of tree sap carried by the newly matured fruit leaving the mother plant. They fly with the stream of light, dispersing in the air, filling the entire land with an enchanting aroma, stirring the atmosphere into a frenzy.

”Xuanhuang Fruit!”

”They are all mine!”

”Stop them!”

”The fruit belongs to the school! Not a single one should be missing!”

”Xuanhuang is the color of the World, not a Wizard’s monopoly!”

”I want one too!”

Joy, anger, eagerness, anxiety, unease, greed, and other emotions roll over the battlefield, the six desires and red dust blinding most Demons’ eyes and veiling many Wizards’ vision.

Bang!

The punch of the Starry Sky Academy’s headmaster lands on the back of the white bear’s head, slamming the just-jumped Captain Iceberg heavily back to the ground, the heavy sound echoing like an evening drum across the entire battlefield, yet at this moment, not many people notice it.

Clang!

A bright long knife blocks the path of Chizheng, reflecting the fierce face of the Leopard Demon and a shadow in a Blue Vest on its blade. Immediately, the long knife collides with Chizheng’s horn, the blade shattering with a burst, falling like snowflakes, while the blue-clad figure crashes into the ground like a cannonball. The five slender tails behind Chizheng rise high, roaring skyward, just about to leap again, but another red figure blocks its path, the Law book floating, its pages turning windlessly, sending spells raining down like raindrops onto the massive Leopard Demon.

Another Wizard cloaked in a pale yellow robe, bald-headed, his body gleaming with a bronze sheen, spreads his arms forcefully, one to the left, one to the right, grabbing and tugging, pinning Chizheng’s two tails firmly to the ground.

There are never a shortage of brave souls on the battlefield.

Especially when facing evil straight with righteousness, many young Wizards get their blood boiling, muster courage, and charge forward one after another. Numerous Demons attempt to ascend to the sky, yet an even greater number of Wizards stand in their way.

But no matter how fierce the melee near the ground is, the noise is only below, as the major figures above keep their eyes fixed on those scattered fruits.

”KOTOS!!”

After the Wizards abandoned the outer castle’s positions, the Multiple-Armed Giant, which had been blocking the gap on the outer castle wall, finally regained its freedom. It raises dozens of heads in unison, dozens of mouths roaring together, waving dozens of arms, snapping the branches of the Great Willow Tree beside it, twisting them into long spears, and throwing them into the sky.

Dense spears shoot like raindrops, forcing away Wizards and Demons nearing a Xuanhuang Fruit, then those spears’ momentum shifts, hard steel becomes gentle threads, seemingly transforming into long snakes seeking food, raising their heads, advancing alternately, swiftly forming a giant net, ensnaring that fruit within.

Then a pull and tear, the Xuanhuang Fruit falls into the embrace of the Multiple-Armed Giant.

Immediately following, the second fruit confirmed of ownership is the one flying the farthest. This fruit, like lightning, pierces the sky, yet just as it is about to leave the battlefield, it is snatched by a giant claw descending from the sky.

Immediately, the claw retracts, revealing a massive Firebird spreading its wings, it raises its head, letting out a light screech, as if challenging the blood-colored sun in another direction in the sky, or complaining to the Wizards below.

This scene causes many Wizards on the battlefield to quietly breathe a sigh of relief.

Because the giant Firebird is none other than Professor Emma’s true form, the head of The Alpha College of the First University. Having the Xuanhuang Fruit fall into her possession is good news for the Wizards guarding the Ancient Castle.

One man’s honey is another’s poison.

While Wizards feel grateful, Demons and their allies are not so pleased. Especially the giant bird Ziz competing with Professor Emma for the sun’s position in the sky.

As one of the Dark Tri-Beasts, Ziz and Leviathan are willing to act as allies to the Great Demons, partly to save Behemoth trapped in the Black Prison, and partly for the legendary Xuanhuang Fruit.

The reason why the Tri-Beasts remain tri-beasts and haven’t become three legends isn’t due to insufficient buildup—they have an enormous true form greater than any Big Wizard or Great Demon on today’s battlefield, proving their deep foundations—but because their ’beastly nature’ has always outweighed ’reason,’ causing some deviation in their understanding of the World.

The Xuanhuang Fruit might make up for this gap.

Screech!!

Ziz’s furious roar echoes the sky, the blood-colored sun surges back to the zenith, entangled with the golden sun, causing the just-stabilized world framework to sway slightly once more.

But now no one will notice this detail.

Under the impact of blood and death gas, amidst chaotic magical power turbulence, the endless battle exhausts many people, making them feel dizzy even standing still, along with the recent upheaval resembling a tsunami, rendering people’s perception of the World’s tremors increasingly dull.

Click, click.

The sound of clock hands ticking resumes from the curled body of the Tiber Dragon in mid-air, click, click, the green-black dragon’s body shimmers with a pearl-like luster, standing beside it, faintly one can hear the sound of the river of time flowing with a swishing noise.

Time is like a net.

Magic Power is like silk.

With far greater agility than its appearance, the massive Tiber Dragon repeatedly resets time within a narrow space layer, finally waiting for a Xuanhuang Fruit to approach.

That enchanting glow seems to show Tiber Dragon the elegance it would have post-Legend, causing its previously ancient well-like calm mindset to ripple slightly.

This ripple, mixed with Tiber Dragon’s unique Power of Time, disperses in all directions, easily affecting the nearby Zheng Qing.

Click, click.

A faint but sharper ticking sound rises from the young Wizard’s chest. Tiber Dragon instinctively bows its head, looking towards the Little Wizard beside it who just lent a big hand to them.

It is this bow that stirs the time and space in a delicate balance around it.

The Xuanhuang Fruit that was supposed to land straight on it instead narrowly misses, scraping its side, and lands perfectly on the belly of the Little Wizard.

Thud!

The Little Wizard is hit by the fruit, staring wide-eyed, bending over like a shrimp, knocked back into a shallow pit on the ground.
