Chapter 1707: Chapter 451 Witches Who Disobeyed Orders

”No, that’s not what I meant.”

Zhuge tugged at the somewhat tilted scarf on his head, glancing left and right, as if worried that a finger might suddenly appear and poke his forehead: ”I mean...that person.”

Professor Yi raised his eyebrows, wisely deciding to end this topic.

”Then why did Zheng Qing jump off the city wall again?”

Changing the topic also requires skill, it must be done subtly and imperceptibly: ”...If I remember correctly, you had already arranged for him to stay atop the wall, right?”

”If my arrangements were effective, there wouldn’t be so many accidents happening on the battlefield.” The leader of the Divination Group spread his hands innocently: ”As for why he jumped down, I have some guesses.”

”Oh?” Professor Yi seemed very interested.

”Do you remember those ’variables’ that were stationed in the Black Prison Castle when the Divination Group initially proposed the battle plan?”

”You mean...”

”That’s right, those prisoners.” Zhuge folded his feather fan and said softly: ”When Xiangliu was confronting Lord Shi Hui, the Great Sea Demon Iceberg clashed with Sun Qi from Starry Sky Academy, shattering several cells within the main castle. Thirteen prisoners escaped, among which three demons were in a metamorphic stage, ready to advance to Great Demons...you remember the report from the prison guard department, don’t you?”

Professor Yi nodded slightly.

”Of course, I remember. Among the escaped prisoners besides the demons, there was also a wizard, surnamed Zhou, who was once a teacher at the First University.”

He squinted, seemingly looking at a sand table not far away, but his gaze was unfocused, as he spoke lightly: ”Later, she violated the Wizard’s Codex by privately releasing prisoners who needed to be detained, and was sentenced to life imprisonment by Danghag, locked in the Black Prison. The ’variable’ you are referring to should be her.”

”One of the variables.”

Zhuge shook his head, then nodded: ”Teacher Zhou being placed in that cell in the main castle is indeed related to the ’variable’, but it has little to do with Zheng Qing—or rather, with Zheng Qing at this moment. Do you still remember the highlighted content at the end of the report from the management department?”

Professor Yi closed his eyes, recalled for a few seconds, then opened them.

”The demons that escaped included a ’Mi-go’,”

There was a hint of realization in his tone, turning his head to look beyond the hall of the watchtower, as if his gaze could penetrate the thick walls and Array to see the battlefield before the inner castle where those pink creatures were ravaging: ”Are you suggesting that the variable is related to those ’MiG King Bugs’?”

The leader of the Divination Group shook his fan, swayed his head, and wandered over to the sand table.

”Who knows.”

He mumbled, staring at the crisscrossing battle lines and fighting chess pieces on the sand table, as if answering Professor Yi’s speculation or perhaps talking to himself: ”A Mi-go is a coincidence, Mi-go fusing with the starry sky is an accident...when coincidence and accident meet and simultaneously strike the variable, what will the result be, I am also very curious.”

...

...

When diviners are curious, they will lay out Tarot Cards, or arrange the old grass, burn the turtle shell, stroke the Crystal Ball, trying to peek through the mist of Destiny, seeking the truth that doesn’t belong to them.

And on the battlefield of the Black Prison World, when the Upper House Members of the Moon Council become curious, they become absent-minded, distracted, disregarding the red-eyed enemies close at hand, passively responding to the enemy’s attacks, and instead focusing most of their attention on the area before the inner castle walls.

Like the Silent Souls.

As the master of the Dark Blue Castle and a member of the Radical Group of the Moon Council, it always presented itself as gentle and magnanimous before its peers, but in matters involving Forbidden Curses, it easily lost its composure.

Last year, it was warned and penalized by Danghag for conducting illegal dimension experiments at the Dark Blue Castle, which is a very obvious example.

Therefore, when this member of the Ghost Tribe touched a thread of Forbidden Spell Aura on the Black Prison Battlefield, its original full-force effort in dealing with the demon attacks immediately faltered.

The chessboard suspended in the air silently reduced in scale, and the demons absorbed by the chessboard took much longer to be dealt with.

Compared to it, the performance of another Upper House Member of the Moon Council was even more obvious.

Upon confirming that Zheng Qing was situated atop the inner castle wall, Su Shijun began frequently looking back, intermittently drawing ink-colored skylarks that flew into the battlefield before the inner castle, circling and observing the wall.

Until the boy leapt down from the wall.

”Damn it!”

The witch cursed loudly—this was completely different from her usual gentle and virtuous demeanor, stunning the sneaky gazes around her—the fox tail brush sketched in the air, the ink-colored skylarks circling over the inner castle screamed, linking head to tail, constructing a spiraling Array in the air.

An identical Array appeared simultaneously beneath the witch’s feet.

”I’ll leave these guys to you two.”

This was the last thing the witch said to Milton Karen and William Tapott before she left.

It was hard to ascertain whether the vague command she left referred to the ghosts and soldiers she had previously drawn or the demons and prisoners then assaulting the front lines.

What was certain was that the witch leaving the front lines was a grave defiance of military orders.

”Damn kid,” Milton’s face darkened, muttering a curse that the young wizard who had jumped from the wall would fall to his death.

”Damn order.” Unlike the vampire’s curse, the werewolf was more concerned about the witch’s safety.

”She will be in trouble,” Milton immediately realized, letting out a deep sigh.

”The Alliance won’t make things difficult for a Big Wizard,” William shook his head.

”Because of the Moon Council?” The vampire’s face showed a mocking expression. He did not believe the Mage Alliance would spare the Clans of the Moon.

”No,” Mister Wolfman raised his fist, pounding heavily on the large black drum in front of him, urging the warriors to bravely fight the enemy, while answering gently: ”Because she is the number one beauty in the wizard world.”

...

...

The witch on the inner castle wall was also violating orders.

When a huge ’meteor’ fell from the sky, crashing onto the path of Zheng Qing’s advance, Jiang Yu immediately forgot all the reminders Mr. Zhuge and Zheng Qing had given her before.

”I want to go down!” She looked at the black cat crouching on the merlon, her face pale, yet her tone exceptionally firm.

The black cat looked at the witch with a solemn expression.

”You are just a first-year little wizard,” it warned.

”He’s a first-year too.”

”He has a mentor, what do you have?”

”...I have money.”

The witch’s reply momentarily choked the black cat’s breath, for a long while, it then looked at the various amulets and high-grade Fu Bullets the witch took out from her handbag with a look of envy, tugging at its ears.

”Money isn’t everything,” the black cat muttered: ”The lowest presence on the battlefield below is at the registered wizard level, a slight mistake and you’ll be shattered to pieces...”

”That’s why I want you to come down with me,” the witch earnestly looked at it.
