High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1720: Chapter 464: Get Out

A small blue bird shot out from the void.

The eyes of several Big Wizards and Great Demons simultaneously fell on it, almost scaring the poor little creature to the point of passing out. It flapped its wings wildly, its body skewed and twisted, and the bird’s entire color became somewhat lighter, as if it were about to be completely erased from this world by an invisible eraser.

Professor Yao timely stretched out his hand, allowing the little thing to land on his fingertip.

With the protection of the Big Wizard, the Blue Bird finally calmed down, the color on its body stabilized a bit, and it quickly regained vigor. It hopped along, following the fingertip, wrist, arm, shoulder, and darted to Professor Yao’s ear, chattering for a while before transforming into a ball of blue flames, disappearing under the eyes of all present.

Invisible divine thoughts echoed in mid-air, reverberating with a low buzzing sound. Occasionally, spells flying from the side would be torn to pieces by those buzzing sounds before they reached the Big Wizards and Great Demons.

”A message from the Divination Group?”

The other three deans simultaneously looked at Professor Yao.

’Bluebird Carrying a Book, Secretly Transmitting Messages Beyond the Clouds’ is an ancient spell. The ’Birdsong Chirping, Asking for Its Friend’s Voice’ communication spell that modern wizards habitually use is derived from the Bluebird Curse.

Professor Yao’s indifferent face slightly nodded, although there was not a trace of fluctuation between his brows, the message conveyed through divine thought made people uneasy: ”The Divination Group confirms that the Big Wizard who infiltrated the frontline battlefield in Inner Castle is Shallow Jin Ryoko, but that’s not the point... The Divination Group discovered that a passage between the Black Prison and the outside world has been opened by someone, but they cannot confirm which one.”

”Is this also part of the plan?” The Starry Sky Academy’s dean raised his eyebrows.

Alpha’s former dean Tilda Strange glanced at the bald wizard with an eye as if looking at a fool, questioning why the school’s selection criteria for deans had dropped to such a level.

”Of course this is not part of the plan.”

Dean Yao’s indifferent face conveyed through divine thought remained calm, as always: ”Since we chose ’variables,’ then any plan is just a plan... The only certainty is, as long as the principal is present, neither the starry sky nor demons will have forces above Legendary involved in this war.”

If ’Legendary Wizards’ can touch the mist on the surface of the river of time, then ’Ancient Wizards’ have completely jumped out of the river of time and grasped the secrets of all heavens.

For those Ancient Ones, there are no conspiracies or no loose ends in the world; in Their eyes, everything is transparent, and any existence below ancient is just chess pieces of varying sizes.

If They touched upon this war, the battlefield would not be confined to the small heaven of the Black Prison World—or even if They did, the Big Wizards present would not have the slightest awareness.

”There’s an internal traitor.”

Ms. Strange’s face was calm as water, her tone icy cold.

”What does the Divination Group say?” Atlas’s principal Urban asked gently: ”Do we need to remind those at the forefront? Or stick to the plan?”

”Stick to the plan.” Dean Yao nodded slightly, then shook his head, adding meaningfully: ”No need to remind those in the front. They have enough capability to protect themselves.”

”As for the internal traitor... perhaps there is one; we need to have some confidence in the Divination Group.”

...

...

Divination Group’s base.

Several Great Diviners were also whispering about the situation on the frontline battlefield of Inner Castle.

Unlike the outside’s worried Big Wizards, these Great Diviners instead appeared quite relaxed, seemingly not concerned about the theoretical ’internal traitor,’ nor about the channel that was opened and yet to be confirmed.

Instead, they were very interested in discussing the uniquely talented purple-haired female demon on site, said to have ascended to the Great Demon tier in the Black Prison.

”Shallow Jin Ryoko’s talent is possession.”

”That’s not unusual, many demons are good at controlling people’s hearts.”

”It’s different from Sujade, not using necromancy to dominate subordinates; nor like Eris, manipulating puppets through threads; she entirely relies on her talent to merge with the soul of the target wizard within a very short time.”

”Complete fusion?”

”No, not completely... her fusion seems to clothe the soul, and she is that piece of clothing.”

”Every move of the soul is governed by the clothing... once the soul loses control, the physical body naturally also becomes uncontrollable. This is an extremely dangerous talent.”

”No wonder, I just saw documents showing that Shallow Jin Ryoko has always been a top priority under Black Prison’s surveillance.”

”Prior to this war, the Divination Group had proposed prioritizing Shallow Jin Ryoko’s execution... but because of her special background, there was some internal debate within the school... During this time, she completely disappeared in the depths of the Black Prison. It wasn’t until the Behemoth and Sujade incited the tide of prisoner riots that she reappeared.”

”Special background?”

”Shallow Jin Ryoko is affiliated with the school’s Hunting team, and has been awarded the silver Merlin Medal, making outstanding contributions in the second Wizard and Demon war...”

The conversation immediately dipped into an atmosphere of uneasy silence.

Until a Great Diviner lightly coughed, changing the topic:

”Hey, isn’t anyone concerned about why she would appear on the Inner Castle battlefield... she shouldn’t be in front of Outer Castle, right? I checked, and the Outer Castle Defensive Magic Array has no slightest flaws.”

”The just-submitted report speculates she attached herself to a newly born Mi-go Emperor Bug, slipped past the Big Wizards of the Outer Castle, and infiltrated the Inner Castle battlefield. KOTOS definitely gave her significant assistance.”

”Damn that Multi-Armed Giant!”

”Well, don’t rush, let them jump around a bit more. The more deeply entangled they are with the Qi mechanism of this world, the higher the likelihood of our plan succeeding.”

...

...

Zheng Qing didn’t know that at this moment the female demon beside him had become the focus of attention on the entire Black Prison battlefield.

He was holding his breath, using all his strength, trying to break free from the female demon’s fingers. But with magic power uncontrollably surging through his entire body, let alone escaping the female demon’s bind, he couldn’t even move a single finger.

”Are you feeling panic, scared?”

The purple-haired female demon leaned close to the boy’s ear, speaking softly, ”Do you know why you feel fearful? Because of the unknown, because you don’t know what will happen next, so you’re scared...”

Before the voice fell.

Bam!

”Get off!”

Accompanied by this light scolding, a white fist angled out from the void, slamming heavily on the purple-haired witch’s face. Zheng Qing could clearly see the demon’s delicate face twisting and deforming under the blow, even losing a few teeth.

Also the color of its eyes, under this punch, violently flickered between pitch black, stark black and white, and scarlet.

Then Zheng Qing heard the second sentence spoken by that voice:

”Stay away from my man!”
