Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 597: Chapter 320: Me Too (First Update)

Two people visiting a new mother at the hospital in the middle of the night, arriving together and leaving together, isn’t that what living together implies?

Kenneth Osborne shrugged it off with a smile, ruffling Lawrence Winters’ hair, and said, ”They’re a couple, being together is natural, isn’t it? Why are you making such a fuss? Put your arm down.”

Lawrence Winters reluctantly withdrew his hand, still feeling excited, ”...Who would’ve thought Sister Sam would actually get what she wished for! It’s true that you have to aim high early on!”

Kenneth Osborne started the car, casually changing the topic, ”So, have you set any goals for yourself?”

”Of course, I have.”

”What’s your goal?”

”To marry you, of course!”

Kenneth Osborne: ”...”

He softly said, ”...Me too.”

Lawrence Winters beamed, ”We really are meant for each other!”

”Kenneth, why is the universe so kind to me? Whatever I wish for, I get!”

”That’s called dreams coming true. In the future, if you have wishes, don’t look up to the universe, just come to me.”

In Lawrence Winters’ memory, Kenneth Osborne had never bragged like this before.

Unexpectedly, he’d finally done it for the first time.

Lawrence Winters laughed even more happily, ”Kenneth, are you that amazing? Then if I want my divination accuracy to improve, how would you help me?”

Kenneth Osborne glanced at her, smiling calmly, ”With me, you don’t need divination.”

”Why not?” Lawrence Winters folded her arms, ”That’s my career, it’s my family’s business! Kenneth, you just boasted too much, can’t you help?”

”With me around, do you still need to go back and inherit the family business?” Kenneth Osborne teased, smiling, ”You’re now the spokesperson for NewHuman Corporation’s PR department, isn’t that a great job? If you don’t want to be in the corporate world, you can think about taking the civil service exam. National departments are also in desperate need of new media talent, especially in crisis management and PR.”

”I won’t take the civil service exam.” Lawrence Winters denied flatly, ”I’m a legitimate descendant of the Celestial Path Sect. Better to live my life outside than to enter the Public Gate or Hell. My profession is being a Heavenly Master, as for the PR department spokesperson, that’s just my hobby.”

That’s why she worked at the company with a lackadaisical attitude, not even working for a year but having taken several leaves already.

Kenneth Osborne smiled but finally didn’t say anything more.

If he continued, Lawrence Winters might get upset.

The two got home, and it was almost four in the morning.

Kenneth Osborne rubbed his temples, feeling a bit tired, and said, ”If we go to sleep now, we can still sleep for two more hours.”

Lawrence Winters also yawned, ”Let’s take a shower first.”

”Didn’t we already shower?”

”We went to the hospital, so we need to wash again to get rid of the hospital germs.” Lawrence Winters found her large suitcase and took out a small alabaster bottle from it.

She ran water in the bathtub and poured a few drops of a rich pale golden liquid from the small bottle into it.

Soon, the hot bath water began to emit a blend of rose and neem aromas.

Kenneth Osborne was pulled into the bathroom by Lawrence Winters to take a bath together.

”What’s that smell? What did you add to the bathtub?” Kenneth Osborne was lulled by the fragrance, feeling drowsy.

”That’s the blend of rose oil and neem flower oil, carefully crafted by my uncle, with talisman dissolved into it. It not only calms and aids sleep but also dispels evil spirits and sickness.” Lawrence Winters laughed, splashing water on Kenneth Osborne.

Kenneth Osborne didn’t believe in such things, but through the bathroom steam, Lawrence Winters’ expression was sacred and sincere, which somewhat influenced him. It felt like these waters did cleanse away disasters and repel evil spirits.

...

That night, Kenneth Osborne actually slept less than four hours.

However, the next morning when he woke up, he didn’t feel sluggish.

On the contrary, he was full of energy, not needing strong coffee to stay awake.

As usual, he drove Lawrence Winters to her workplace.

Lawrence Winters arrived on time at nine o’clock for work that day.

After arriving at the office, she first checked the day’s work schedule, keeping an eye on the company’s official social media account activities while scouting for Lucas Harlow’s next script.

When Edward Foster came to work, he found Lawrence Winters already there.

He quickly knocked on her office door, smiling, ”Good morning. Didn’t you have a friend give birth yesterday? How come you’re at work so early today?”

Lawrence Winters looked up, nodded at him, and smiled, ”Good morning, Mr. Foster. It’s my friend who gave birth, not me. Why wouldn’t I come to work?”

Edward Foster rubbed his chin, smiling, ”Did you have breakfast then?”

”Yes, I did. How about you, Mr. Foster?”

”I did too.” Edward Foster actually hadn’t. He intended to buy breakfast for Lawrence Winters but since she had already had hers, he just said he had eaten as well.

In reality, Lawrence Winters hadn’t eaten breakfast yet.

She and Kenneth Osborne had gone to bed late the previous night, and in the morning, they slept in until after eight.

The two of them didn’t have time to make breakfast, nor did they detour to buy any. They went straight to work, planning to eat breakfast at the office.

Lawrence Winters had just finished reviewing the work plan and was about to buy breakfast when Edward Foster showed up.

And asked if she’d had breakfast.

Of course, she didn’t want to admit she hadn’t, who knows if Edward Foster would suddenly want to take her to breakfast?

An individual breakfast can be brought back to eat while working.

If two people have breakfast together, there goes the morning.

Unlike some people, who don’t work well within the eight hours and have to drag their work beyond that, pretending to be busy with overtime.

Lawrence Winters likes high efficiency, it’s best to complete the work within the eight hours.

So after politely declining Edward Foster, Lawrence waited for a while, and after Edward went to his CEO office, he quietly slipped out to the restaurant downstairs to buy breakfast.

”Excuse me, one fish fillet vegetable porridge, one egg and fried dough stick set, and two potato pancakes, please. To go.” Lawrence quickly finished ordering.

In less than five minutes, the restaurant waiter handed her a paper bag.

Lawrence carried the breakfast paper bag, humming a song, and headed towards the elevator.

But at the elevator door, she saw Edward Foster also carrying a bag of breakfast, holding a cup of coffee in his other hand, sipping through a straw with great enjoyment.

Luckily, they weren’t from the same restaurant, so they didn’t bump into each other there.

Otherwise, it would have been even more awkward.

Lawrence’s face didn’t even blush, she smiled and said: ”I’m a hobbit, I need to eat two breakfasts every day. Does Edward also eat a second breakfast?”

Surprisingly, Edward’s skin was thinner than hers, his face was already red to the ears.

But Lawrence’s open and humorous banter instantly relieved him of any mental burden, and he smiled, saying: ”I wish, but unfortunately I’m particularly hungry today, so I came down to buy another breakfast.”

Both of them knew very well that the other was lying and hadn’t had breakfast.

But they pretended to be naïve, seeing through the lie yet not exposing it.

The elevator arrived, and Lawrence went in first.

After Edward followed in, he tilted his body to look at the breakfast paper bag in her hand and said, ”Do you like the breakfast here?”

”Yes, I do. The porridge here is good, though not as good as that breakfast shop back home.” Lawrence shook her head, ”What a pity, I’m living far now, so it’s impossible to have the fish fillet porridge and the fried buns there in the morning.”

Edward originally wanted to ask why she said she lived far away when it’s clearly near her home,

but just as he was about to ask, he suddenly understood.

Lawrence had moved in with Kenneth Osborne?

So she moved out from home?

How could she!

Inside, Edward felt both hurt and a bit jealous, mixed with anger and resentment towards a certain person.

However, on the surface, he didn’t show any of it, instead, he asked: ”Is it the breakfast shop near your family’s big flat neighborhood?”

”Yeah, it’s the only one with the best business, and they know how to use scarcity marketing very well. They sell a fixed number of baskets every morning, once sold out, there are no more. So if you want to eat, you have to queue early.”

Lawrence said joyfully, ”Ah, that taste, once you try it, you’ll understand. Nowhere else has it.”

Edward smiled but said no more.

...

A couple of days later, it rained in the Capital City.

Kenneth Osborne and Lawrence Winters had woken up a bit late again.

They didn’t have time for breakfast, so Kenneth hurried to a meeting after dropping Lawrence off at her company’s building.

Lawrence walked into her office and suddenly smelled a familiar scent.

She looked up and saw a breakfast bag on her desk.

That breakfast bag, it was clearly from the breakfast shop near her home neighborhood!

Lawrence was overjoyed and rushed over to open the paper bag.

Inside were her favorite fish fillet porridge and fried buns!

Edward Foster strolled over at that moment, saying with a smile, ”I had something to do yesterday, and just happened to stay near your neighborhood. On my way to work this morning, I passed by that breakfast stand, saw so many people queuing, I suddenly remembered your recommendation, so I tried it and found out it was really good.”

He pointed at the bag of breakfast, ”This is the extra portion I bought, originally for my parents, but they had already eaten. Hope you don’t mind.”

”No, I don’t mind at all! Not at all!” Lawrence shook her head repeatedly.

Even though the breakfast hadn’t been opened yet, it didn’t matter if it wasn’t bought specifically for her.

Lawrence opened the lid of the fish fillet porridge, took a satisfied breath, enjoying the aroma, and said: ”Edward, the loving breakfast you bought for your parents was diverted to me! I owe you one for this treat!”

”It wasn’t bought specifically for you, no need to owe me anything. Just enjoy it and finish it all.” Edward said with a smile, sitting down in front of Lawrence.

Lawrence didn’t mind, she began to relish the food.

She ate the porridge with an elegant grace, her movements were poised and courteous.

But in no time, she finished the whole bowl of fish fillet porridge and even ate most of the fried buns.

Edward laughed, ”I can see you really like the breakfast from that shop...”

It wasn’t in vain that he woke up at five in the morning, drove for half an hour to queue, and brought the breakfast back in special thermal containers.

Otherwise, it wouldn’t still be hot by now.

And one of the essences of fish fillet porridge and fried buns is that they need to be hot.

Hot is delicious, cold would be fishy, influencing the taste.
