Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 570: Chapter 305: The Auspicious Hour Has Arrived (Part 2)

”You know how Betty is, who else can persuade her but you?” Autumn Stetford said with a mix of pity and complaint, ”She’s been down these past two days, went to the hot springs and then ate ice cream with just a thin jacket on, and after that, she caught a chill outside. She started running a fever when we got back to our room at night.”

”The fever hasn’t gone down by this morning. I called a doctor here to check on her, and it’s not serious, but she refuses to take any medicine.”

Ruby Sheldon lay on the bed, glaring at her mom unhappily, mumbling, ”Mom, I’m sick, and you’re still lecturing me. Do you have any sympathy?”

”Alright, alright, I’ll let your dad talk to you.” Autumn Stetford put the phone in front of Ruby Sheldon.

Aiden Sheldon’s handsome and mature face gave Ruby a strong sense of security.

She immediately smiled, a bit shyly, ”Dad, I miss you. Where have you been lately? I haven’t seen you at all.”

”Be good, Betty. Dad was out on business, but I’m back now and will come to see my little darling soon.” Aiden’s tone was extremely indulgent, making the bodyguard in the front seat cringe.

He couldn’t help but glance at the driver.

The driver, however, was calm, as if used to it.

The bodyguard silently looked away, gazing ahead.

Just then, a motorcycle carrying several people wobbled into view from who knows where.

There were four people on it; apart from the driver, there were two children and an ordinarily dressed woman.

They seemed like a family of four going out together.

The motorcyclist saw a small gap in the traffic ahead, and, confident in the maneuverability of his vehicle, sped up to squeeze through.

However, the driver of a Honda car in front was holding a phone while talking and didn’t notice the motorcycle coming from behind.

He was talking while turning the steering wheel, intending to switch to the lane beside him.

Meanwhile, in the adjacent lane, a large truck was speeding from behind.

The motorcycle carrying the family of four only paid attention to the Honda car switching lanes on the left and didn’t notice the large truck rushing from the right lane behind as they planned to switch to the right lane.

It seemed like the family of four was about to be swept under the truck’s wheels.

Aiden Sheldon’s driver noticed this and quickly braked to slow down.

Some vehicles behind also noticed, hearts racing, many started honking to alert the driver in front.

But the person, wearing noise-canceling headphones while on a call, didn’t hear the outside commotion and didn’t notice the motorcycle in his blind spot.

He was gripping the steering wheel and pressing the accelerator, almost at the edge of the lane.

Lawrence Winters also noticed the scene ahead at this moment.

She held the steering wheel, eyes flickering as she quickly calculated in her mind, then suddenly hit the accelerator, and her small BMW 3 Series sped up.

The nimble vehicle performed with utmost agility at that moment.

She quickly changed lanes, cut in front of the Rolls-Royce Phantom ahead, and crashed straight into the rear of the Honda in front!

Boom!

The Honda’s tires screeched violently against the asphalt, almost peeling off a layer of the road.

But it pushed the Honda one more car length forward, preventing it from squeezing the motorcycle while changing lanes.

Lawrence quickly accelerated, darting from behind the Honda to the right lane, flashing past the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist was startled, not daring to change lanes and continued driving over the middle line between two lanes.

Meanwhile, the truck in the right lane couldn’t brake in time and smashed into the rear of Lawrence’s small car!

Luckily, there weren’t many vehicles in front of Lawrence in the right lane, and there was some distance between them, so after switching lanes, she didn’t ease off the gas, thus absorbing most of the impact from behind.

This only saved her car from being dragged under the truck, but the rear was deformed badly, almost pressing into the front where she and Kenneth Osborne were seated.

Screech!

Another loud noise, and the truck behind finally came to a complete stop.

Many cars on this road could only crawl along.

Someone had already called the traffic police to come over.

But the motorcycle that caused the whole incident had already sped away out of sight.

From Lawrence’s acceleration to lane change to the crash, and then blocking in front of the large truck, all these actions happened in a flash.

Kenneth Osborne hadn’t even reacted, and the car had already stopped in the right lane.

Kenneth recovered, quickly unbuckling his seatbelt, kicked open the door, pulled Lawrence out from the right door, and stood on the emergency lane by the road.

The Honda that Lawrence nearly sent flying also stopped in the right lane, now walking towards them aggressively.

The truck driver wasn’t easy to deal with either, coming down with a large wrench in hand.

But Lawrence and Kenneth were dressed impeccably, both in business attire, even in matching couples’ style colors.

Their outstanding looks drew several glances from everyone around.

Aiden Sheldon’s driver was impressed by the decisive move of the BMW 3 Series driver in front, but when he realized it was a female driver, he fell silent.

Because he recognized this woman.

Once, their second young master Ryan Sheldon had an ”incident,” and it was this female driver, seemed like her name was Lawrence or something.

The driver couldn’t help but glanced at Aiden Sheldon through the rearview mirror.

Aiden’s face was unusually calm. He had been video chatting with Ruby, but somehow, his phone had changed angle and captured the entire scene just now.

On the other end, Ruby Sheldon, lying in bed, broke out in a nervous sweat as she watched.

”Dad! Dad! Are you okay?!” She sat up anxiously, pounding the bed and yelling.
