Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 588: Chapter 315: Peaceful Years, Strength Through Abstinence (Part 2)

”It doesn’t matter whether I misunderstand or not, as long as you, Mrs. Sheldon, and Mr. Sheldon don’t misunderstand me.” Sister Qing spoke with a serene and generous demeanor, her green tea index almost off the charts.

After speaking, she looked at Ryan Sheldon with a smile and said, ”Ryan, don’t you think so?”

Ryan Sheldon quickly nodded, ”Yes, yes, Betty, stop crying all the time. Whenever you cry, dad and mom get angry again. I can’t control other people, but A-Bi is my guest, and if she’s affected because of me, I won’t stand for it. You can hit me, but don’t hit my people!”

Sister Qing didn’t expect Ryan Sheldon to be so taken aback. She hesitated for a moment before quickly trying to smooth things over, ”Betty hasn’t cried, where did she cry? She wouldn’t intentionally try to stir up trouble between you and me. — Right, Betty? You should speak up, don’t make your second brother sad. Your second brother cares about you so much, you wouldn’t not care about him, right?”

Ruby Sheldon didn’t expect that Sister Qing would effectively give her a hard time.

She was tongue-tied, wanting to say it wasn’t like that, but Ryan Sheldon was looking at her with full expectation, waiting for her agreement!

In her panic, she looked towards her mother.

Autumn Stetford sighed, put down her dining knife, and said with a smile, ”It seems that what our old Sheldon says doesn’t count. We said no talking while eating and sleeping, yet it still doesn’t work, hahaha...”

Ryan Sheldon also laughed and said, ”You always favor Betty, mom and dad. My elder brother and I don’t mind, after all, we’re the older ones, so we should accommodate our sister. But others aren’t obligated... no wonder Betty can’t make good friends. With you like this, who dares to be friends with Betty?”

”Second brother! How can you say bad things about mom and dad!” Ruby Sheldon was stunned, ”You’re not allowed to talk about mom and dad like that! What they say is right! They’re not wrong!”

Sister Qing rolled her eyes inwardly, genuinely finding this family hard to deal with.

She hadn’t had much hope initially, but Ryan Sheldon was performing better and better, making her start to hesitate.

Ryan Sheldon was usually the most rebellious at home; otherwise, he wouldn’t have stayed abroad for so many years without coming back, and he refused to follow the path arranged by Autumn Stetford and Aiden Sheldon, focused solely on racing overseas.

He rolled his eyes, heavily slammed the dining knife onto the table, and said to Ruby Sheldon, ”Are you done? This is the first time I’ve brought a girlfriend home to meet the parents, and this is how you behave? I think I should find a black woman to confront you! Not only scold you but also beat you! You’ve grown to be twenty years old, are you two years old in intelligence or what?”

”And mom and dad are always right! If they’re so right, did you listen earlier when dad said ’no talking while eating and sleeping’?”

”Always playing the victim and acting innocent, with everyone else being wrong and vile, and you being the purest and most noble!”

”Everyone has to be careful with their words, not knowing when they might offend our little Princess and face big trouble! — I don’t think you feel anything wrong, instead, you enjoy it!”

Ruby Sheldon had never had anyone say such heavy words to her face her entire life.

Her lips trembled, her teeth clattered.

Her complexion went from red to white, gradually her breathing became rapid.

Her entire body also started trembling, her pink lips gradually turning into the purple hue of dusk.

Finally, within Ryan Sheldon’s tirade, she rolled her eyes upward and yelled, ”Mom, dad! I didn’t! I didn’t! I’m the most obedient one!”

Then her body tilted, and she fell down softly.

Aiden Sheldon quickly caught her, ”Not good, Betty’s fainted! Call an ambulance!”

Autumn Stetford’s face changed, glaring at Ryan Sheldon in anger before taking a small bottle of medication from her bag, pouring out a pill, and placing it in Ruby Sheldon’s mouth.

”Lay Betty flat, I’ll give her some CPR.” Autumn Stetford said nervously, gesturing to Aiden Sheldon.

Aiden Sheldon hurriedly placed Ruby Sheldon on the nearby sofa and took out his phone to call the hospital.

The Sheldon Family has a hospital they’ve invested in.

A few minutes later, they heard the sound of ambulance sirens wailing outside the restaurant.

Meanwhile, Ruby Sheldon had already woken up.

She was pale, her eyes blankly staring ahead, her hands waving in the air, softly calling, ”Mom... Mom... Dad... Where are you? I didn’t... I’m the most obedient one... I wasn’t pretending to be pathetic and innocent...”

”I know, I know... Mom understands...” Autumn Stetford held Ruby Sheldon’s hand, looking at her feeble state, her heart almost breaking.

Aiden Sheldon then turned his head; his face had no expression, but his eyes seemed ablaze, burning with fierce anger.

Ryan Sheldon looked panicked, ”What’s happened to Betty? I was just saying a few words...”

”A few words?!” Aiden Sheldon marched over, grabbing Ryan Sheldon’s collar, ”Why don’t you just stab your sister to death! Murder is nothing more than taking life, yet you choose to kill the soul? I didn’t know you were such a good speaker?!”

Bang!

Aiden Sheldon punched Ryan Sheldon down to the ground.

The dining room they were in was quite large, with ample space for Aiden Sheldon to beat his son.

When the ambulance arrived, both Ruby Sheldon and Ryan Sheldon were loaded onto it.

Sister Qing wanted to leave but couldn’t, following them onto the ambulance, being held by Ryan Sheldon, all the way to the hospital.

Ryan Sheldon’s injuries looked severe; half of his face was swollen, his eyes bloated, his body covered with bruises.

But after the doctor’s examination, they said it was all external injuries and he’d be fine in a couple of days.

Ruby Shelson’s condition was indeed somewhat serious.

Though she was conscious, her breathing was still very weak, her blood oxygen saturation low, needing assistance from a ventilator.

More importantly, she couldn’t see.

Both Ryan Sheldon and Sister Qing were stunned upon hearing this.

Ryan Sheldon hurried to Ruby Sheldon’s ward to see her, while Sister Qing, feeling a bit uncertain, took a few steps but didn’t dare follow, and she couldn’t help but send Lawrence Winters a WeChat message.

[Sister Qing]: Lawrence, you might not believe it, but Ruby Sheldon just fainted, and now she can’t see. Sad.JPG.

She recounted what had happened.

Lawrence Winters was lazily leaning against Kenneth Osborne’s back, but now he sat up straight.

[Lawrence Winters]: What?! Ryan Sheldon yelled Ruby Sheldon into fainting? Ruby Sheldon became so angry she went blind???
