Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 568: Chapter 304: Marriage Should Be a Spur-of-the-Moment Decision (Second Update)

Upon receiving a call from Kenneth’s mom, she was walking downstairs.

”How are you getting used to things in the Southern Region, little sister?” Joan Lawson thought Kenneth’s mom was bored and was just calling to chat.

Kenneth’s mom pursed her lips and said, ”Sister, Kenneth is getting married, and they’re about to set a date. Make sure you come when you have the time.”

”What? He’s getting married? So soon?” Joan Lawson’s expression became a bit dazed, ”How old is he? Nowadays, who would want to get married before thirty? Didn’t you try to talk him out of it?”

Kenneth Osborne is only twenty-three, which is indeed considered early for marriage in his social class.

Kenneth’s mom shook her head, ”How could I persuade him? It has to be you who tries...”

Joan Lawson collected herself, got into the car, but didn’t start it. Instead, she asked intently, ”Who is he marrying? Do you know?”

”Of course, he’s marrying Lawrence Winters, our former neighbor, you know him too.”

Joan Lawson suddenly realized, ”Lawrence Winters... was that the girl who had particularly bad luck as a kid? How about now? How’s her luck these days?”

Kenneth’s mom frowned, ”Now? It should be okay, much better than before, I guess. But it’s hard to say, I’m not really sure.”

”Hmm, that’s not bad either. It’s better to marry someone familiar than someone random from outside.” Joan Lawson said kindly, ”Alright, let’s talk later, I have to get to work now.”

Joan Lawson hung up the phone and sat in the car for a while, then took out her phone, opened a website, and stared at the photo of the man there lost in thought.

She was so deep in thought that she ended up being late for work.

...

Lawrence Winters and Kenneth Osborne arrived at the airport, boarded Cameron Spencer’s private jet, and flew back to Capital City with Nick Zeller.

This time on the plane, Nick Zeller no longer sat between the two but instead took a seat by the window, leaving the two adjacent seats for Lawrence Winters and Kenneth Osborne.

Lawrence Winters and Kenneth Osborne’s relationship had become very sweet after this ordeal.

Kenneth Osborne could see Lawrence Winters growing increasingly attached to him, something he never imagined before.

Lawrence Winters also found herself less free-spirited.

She could not only love but also feel jealous.

In romantic relationships, when there’s no jealousy, the love probably isn’t that deep.

Lawrence Winters had confirmed her feelings and naturally accepted the fact that they would soon marry.

Kenneth Osborne couldn’t be more eager.

The sooner he could marry Lawrence Winters, the sooner those shameless men could stop pursuing another man’s wife...

Lawrence Winters nestled in his arms, chattering, ”Brother Far, remember, from now on, I’m your closest person. Don’t scold me in front of others, I’ll be upset.”

”Just like yesterday when you pointed out my faults in front of Spring Spencer, you have no idea how hurt I felt.”

Kenneth Osborne patted her head and softly replied, ”I won’t do that anymore, I won’t.”

Teach a child at the hall, teach a wife at the bedside.

Such a simple truth, he only realized it last night.

Lawrence Winters and Kenneth Osborne were all lovey-dovey along the way, completely unfazed by Nick Zeller as an outsider.

Nick Zeller couldn’t bear to watch, and as soon as they landed, he was the first to rush off the plane.

Kenneth Osborne was supposed to go back to his home, but Lawrence Winters wouldn’t let him leave, and he didn’t want to be apart from her. Besides, he needed to discuss the wedding with Gabrielle Winters, so he went with Lawrence Winters and Nick Zeller to the penthouse.

When he moved out last time, he left some of his stuff behind, so he didn’t need to buy daily necessities.

He also had a suitcase with him, filled with his clothes.

The three of them returned to the penthouse, and Gabrielle Winters was delighted to see Kenneth Osborne back.

Previously, the disagreements between Kenneth Osborne and Lawrence Winters had already been resolved, but Kenneth Osborne was still living elsewhere.

Seeing him back with his suitcase, Gabrielle Winters thought he was moving back for good.

But by evening, Gabrielle Winters realized she was mistaken.

After dinner, in front of Gabrielle Winters and the old Daoist, Kenneth Osborne solemnly said, ”Auntie Wen, old sage, please allow me to take Nora as my wife. We want to get married.”

Gabrielle Winters gave Lawrence Winters a surprised look.

Lawrence Winters lowered her head slightly, her cheeks flushed, clearly happy but also a bit embarrassed.

Gabrielle Winters asked her, ”Nora, do you really want to get married immediately? Weren’t you planning to just move in together first?”

The main issue was that Lawrence Winters was only twenty, and Gabrielle Winters felt this age was still immature.

Lawrence Winters lifted her head and smiled, ”Well, if we’re going to live together anyway, why not have a formal status? I’ve thought it through. Two people living together get the benefits of marriage without the responsibilities. I think as a woman, I would be at a disadvantage, so I agree to get married first.”

Kenneth Osborne twitched the corner of his mouth, thinking, get married first, what does that even mean?

Gabrielle Winters thought the same, poking her nose lightly, smiling, ”You really are something else. What do you mean ’get married first’? Is there such a thing as marrying later?”

”Marriage is important; you should think it over carefully and not act impulsively.”

Lawrence Winters laughed and retorted, ”Mom, you don’t understand. Marriage is something done on impulse. Once I think it over clearly, I might not even want to get married.”

”What kind of twisted logic is that?” Gabrielle Winters frowned.

The old Daoist laughed heartily and said, ”Nora is right! Statistics show that if a man and woman get married through a love affair, the best time to marry is after dating for a year.”

”After dating for over a year, the probability of marriage decreases proportionally.”

”If a couple dates for over seven years, they’ll either break up or marry and quickly divorce afterward.”

”That’s just human nature; you can’t go against natural laws.”

Kenneth Osborne, seeing the old Daoist’s approval, immediately chimed in, ”Old sage, could you pick us a good wedding date? We plan to register first and hold the banquet later.”

The old Daoist casually did some calculations and said, ”How soon do you want to get married?”

”If possible, we can register tomorrow.” Kenneth Osborne got excited, ”The banquet can be scheduled later, no problem with that.”

”Then the sooner, the better. Go register tomorrow.” The old Daoist waved his hand generously, smiling, ”For those in love, every day is a good day to marry.”
