Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 565: Chapter 303: Wedding Date

Kenneth Osborne didn’t have time to greet Spring Spencer, and immediately chased after Lawrence Winters into the venue.

Spring Spencer smiled self-deprecatingly, turned around and looked at the square again, as if searching for something, or perhaps nothing at all, just unable to take his eyes off the distance.

...

Shortly after Lawrence Winters went in, she sensed that Kenneth Osborne had caught up.

She didn’t want to slow down, but Kenneth Osborne was running too fast.

In just a few steps, he grabbed Lawrence Winters’s hand and chuckled softly, ”...Are you jealous?”

Lawrence Winters: ”!!!”

”I’m not! I’m not! Don’t talk nonsense!” Lawrence Winters quickly retorted, using a classic threefold denial.

Kenneth Osborne looked at her with a smile, his gaze gentle like water, like a pond under moonlight, where a single glance could drown you, ”Denial is explanation, explanation is cover-up, cover-up is fact. — So you are.”

Lawrence Winters was so captivated by his gaze that she smiled, forgetting to continue denying it.

The two returned to their seats, still holding hands tightly.

Nick Zeller saw this, pursed his lips, but decided not to fan the flames any further.

When the wedding banquet ended and everyone went home, Kenneth Osborne briefly informed Brooke Osborne that he wasn’t going to her place, and instead followed Lawrence Winters back to her hotel.

Nick Zeller was pulled aside by Cameron Spencer for a chat, and upon learning that Kenneth Osborne was going back to the hotel with Lawrence Winters, Nick Zeller simply had Kenneth Osborne escort her there, and reminded him to keep Lawrence Winters company.

He himself talked with Cameron Spencer in the hotel lobby café.

”Nick, are you really not planning to help me at the Spencer Group?” Cameron Spencer asked with a smile while chomping on his cigar pipe.

Nick Zeller shook his head, ”No, I’m too old for that, and I’m happier running my own business. Leave that for little Winter.”

Thinking about that nursing baby who turned out to be his half-brother, Nick Zeller felt especially aggrieved.

Luckily he didn’t have children, otherwise his children would feel even more aggrieved than he did.

As Nick Zeller was feeling smug, Cameron Spencer suddenly asked, ”You’re over forty, haven’t you considered when you’ll get married?”

Nick Zeller was startled, and quickly shook his head, ”I can’t, I vowed when I became a disciple, promised my master before joining.”

”Nonsense. I’m also from the Celestial Path Sect, how come I never heard of such a rule?” Cameron Spencer frowned at him, ”Who’s your master? Tell me, I’ll have a word with him.”

”My master is a nobody, he resides in deep forests all year long, there’s no internet, and most of the time no electricity, only relying on candles and firewood, what could you possibly say to him?” Nick Zeller fabricated a story on the spot.

Cameron Spencer could tell he wasn’t being truthful, and his frown deepened, ”Isn’t that old Daoist at your home your master? Can’t I find a chance to meet him?”

Nick Zeller laughed, crossing his legs casually and said, ”Mr. Spencer, the point of my made-up story is so you won’t meet my master. Can’t you just understand and not expose me?”

”You know you’re making things up?” Cameron Spencer laughed in anger, ”Alright, alright, are you still resenting me?”

Nick Zeller dropped his smile and replied seriously, ”No, I truly don’t resent you, after all, I can’t resent something I never had.”

”However, my mother certainly resented you.” Nick Zeller said flatly, while flicking ash from his cigarette into the ashtray, ”But I’m not in a position to forgive you on her behalf. If you want to ease your conscience, then after you pass away, go apologize to her in the afterlife.”

”You—!” Cameron Spencer stood up in anger, ”You’re cursing me like this?!”

As someone elder and from the Celestial Path Sect, he was indeed apprehensive about such words.

Nick Zeller shrugged, ”I’m just being honest, if you don’t like it, then stop talking to me. That’s how I am. If you want to decrease your lifespan, I’d be happy to accompany you.”

Cameron Spencer was so infuriated his heart condition almost acted up.

He snorted, leaving behind one last sentence: ”In the future, my secretary will contact you for any matters, and since you don’t want to acknowledge me, you’d better remember not to slip up in front of others.”

”Rest assured, as long as you don’t intentionally reveal this information, no third person in the world will know about this.” Nick Zeller stood up calmly.

He wouldn’t inform Cameron Spencer that he had already told Gabrielle Winters, Lawrence Winters, the old Daoist, and Kenneth Osborne.

Of course, he trusted these four people absolutely wouldn’t disclose this matter.
