Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 592: Chapter 317: Your Wish Is About to Come True (Part 2)

Aiden Sheldon curled his lips, ”...You call this ’no demands’? Then what would it be if you did have any demands?”

”Well, when Nathan gets married, you’ll know.” Autumn Stetford chuckled, taking the phone from Aiden Sheldon’s hand. ”It’s dark in here, don’t look at the phone, it’s bad for your eyes. Go lie down on the bed over there for a while, I’ll watch over Betty. When I get sleepy, I’ll wake you up, and we’ll switch shifts.”

With their financial resources, they could hire ten caregivers to watch over Ruby Sheldon in shifts, 24/7.

But all these years, whenever Ruby Sheldon fell ill, the couple would set aside everything and personally stay by her side to care for her.

It hadn’t changed in twenty years.

...

Lawrence Winters woke up in the morning to find that Kenneth Osborne was already gone from the pillow beside her.

Still drowsy, she sat up and reached for her phone on the nightstand to take a look.

It was only seven in the morning.

She and Kenneth Osborne usually left for work at eight thirty, arriving at the office by nine.

Both of them started work at nine.

So sometimes in the morning, they could sleep in until eight, then get up to wash and have breakfast.

Kenneth Osborne had left so early?

Lawrence Winters lay back down, wanting to catch a little more sleep.

At that moment, Kenneth Osborne opened the bedroom door and walked in.

He had just showered, his hair still a bit damp, hanging darkly over his forehead. His slightly long phoenix eyes were clear and bright, sparkling beautifully.

Successful in his career, newly married, with a lovely wife by his side.

Kenneth Osborne thought this was truly the best time of his life.

He walked to the bed and sat down, looking at Lawrence Winters’ sleeping face. Her peach-like cheeks were slightly red, making one want to take a bite to see if sweet peach juice would flow out.

He had tasted it just last night, and indeed, it was intoxicating.

Kenneth Osborne couldn’t help but smile and gently pinched Lawrence Winters’ peachy cheek.

Startled, Lawrence Winters reflexively reached out her right hand like lightning and grabbed Kenneth Osborne’s hand.

Opening her eyes, she realized it was Kenneth Osborne, and she instantly woke up, murmuring, ”...Weren’t you gone? You scared me.”

Kenneth Osborne simply pulled her out from under the covers and said, ”You just haven’t gotten used to living with me yet. It’s our house, and apart from me, who else would come into our bedroom so early in the morning? You’re cautious in the wrong ways.”

”We’ve only lived together for a few days! You need to give me time to get used to it.” Lawrence Winters chuckled, giving Kenneth Osborne a good morning kiss.

Kenneth Osborne sent her to the bathroom to freshen up, standing at the bathroom door himself and saying, ”I’ve made century egg and lean pork congee and tofu skin buns, have them when you’re done.”

”Alright, thank you, Kenny!” Lawrence Winters’ voice came from the bathroom, filled with delight, making anyone hearing it feel joyful.

A beautiful day starts with the smiling face of a loved one.

Lawrence Winters also took a shower and came out for breakfast.

Kenneth Osborne didn’t make breakfast every day himself, but when he did, Lawrence Winters could tell his cooking skills improved each time.

For instance, this time the century egg and lean pork congee was rich in flavor, the rice congee cooked until creamy, the lean pork almost cooked by the high-temperature congee, tender enough to melt in the mouth, blending perfectly with the century egg bits and rice porridge.

A tiny bit of umami soy sauce enhanced the aroma of the ingredients perfectly.

Lawrence Winters ate two big bowls of the congee in one go, still wanting to take a bowl to work as lunch.

Kenneth Osborne laughed and stopped her: ”By noon it won’t be as tender. If you love it, I’ll make it for you next time.”

As he spoke, he finished off the remaining congee, leaving Lawrence Winters nothing to take.

She gave him a jesting glance and picked up a tofu skin bun to eat.

After breakfast, the two of them went to work.

Lawrence Winters’ car had been towed for repairs.

But it was too severely damaged, and the repair shop had called to say it couldn’t be fixed. However, they offered to buy her totaled car.

Since the car was an import, its parts were all original, and repair shops liked to receive these original parts, taking them apart and selling them was very profitable.

Lawrence Winters asked for a relatively high price, though it couldn’t compare to the original price of the car, it did help to offset some of the loss.

The bigger loss she had to swallow herself.

Because the big truck that rear-ended her, it turned out later, didn’t have valid insurance.

Without paying insurance fees, naturally, there was no way to compensate her.

Lawrence Winters could still take the person to court to make him pay out of pocket.

But when the police told her the big truck driver wasn’t well off, she let it go, thinking it as doing a good deed completely.

However, she said there should be some punishment, like a few days of detention or some points deducted.

After all, the big truck driver had come down with a big wrench looking like he was ready to fight, which was really too aggressive.

She told the police, ”...If wrongdoing goes unpunished, then goodness becomes meaningless.”

This stunned the police, so they administratively detained the big truck driver for seven days.

Now, Kenneth Osborne drove her to work.

Five minutes to nine, Kenneth Osborne dropped her off at the Foster Consortium building.

Lawrence Winters kissed him goodbye, then walked gracefully out of the car with her little bag.

She walked into the building’s lobby, smiling and greeting people as she made her way toward the elevator.

Just as she was about to reach the elevator door, an unassuming elderly woman, with a burly man in tow, walked over to her.

Lawrence Winters instantly recognized the burly man as the big truck driver, making her break out in a nervous sweat.

But here, she was on her home turf, as soon as she called out, security with electric batons would come to protect her.

Moreover, with her skills, handling this driver wouldn’t be a problem.

She just didn’t want to cause another scene.

Thinking about how Kenneth Osborne would deal with her after her third visit to the police station, Lawrence Winters felt a bit timid.

She stopped in her tracks, watching the elderly woman and the big truck driver warily.
