Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 553: Chapter 297: What’s the Real Scheme? (Second Update)

After the clothing issue was resolved, Lawrence Winters sincerely thanked Kenneth Osborne.

Kenneth Osborne looked at the various thank-you emojis she sent over and shook his head speechlessly, replying to her, ”There’s no need for such thanks. Do we really need this kind of intangible gratitude between us?”

Lawrence was extremely moved and quickly sent a voice message saying, ”Ken, you are so selfless! You’re amazing! I love you, Ken!”

Kenneth Osborne: ”...”

He rubbed his brow, thinking how a set of clothes could make her say ”I love you”. It showed that his place in her heart was worth no more than a set of clothes.

Even though he had already been with her, and they had been together, it was clear that Lawrence was not the type of woman to be blindly devoted to someone just because they were in a relationship.

Her self-awareness was too strong, lacking the common insecurities many women have in love.

Kenneth didn’t know whether to be happy or troubled, but his heart was restless regardless.

Sometimes, Lawrence would say Kenneth was a ”male fox spirit”, but Kenneth knew that Lawrence was the real spirit, a restless female spirit.

He sighed lightly, smiled, and sent a voice message, ”Nora, this is the first time you’ve said ’I love you’ to me, so I’ll accept it. Still, I think there’s no need for such thanks between us. You can thank me in better ways. For example, when are you moving in to live with me?”

Lawrence: ”...”

She giggled, took off the pearl tiara on her head, and changed the subject, ”Ken, what time is your flight tomorrow?”

She then asked Nick Zeller, who had just walked in, ”Uncle, have you bought the tickets?”

Nick, taking off his modified Great Heavenly Master attire, chuckled and said, ”No need to buy tickets, we’re taking someone else’s private jet.”

”Huh?! We also have a private jet?!” Lawrence was both surprised and delighted, ”Whose is it?”

”Who else? It’s Cameron Spencer’s!” Nick scoffed, ”You should ask Ken if he wants to join us on the private jet. It’s on the way anyway.”

Lawrence quickly sent a message to Kenneth: Ken, Mr. Spencer has sent a private jet to pick us up. If you’ve already bought a ticket, you can refund it.

Kenneth was slightly taken aback, thinking that Cameron Spencer really valued Nick Zeller highly, such is the nature of father-son relationships...

However, although he knew about the relationship between Cameron Spencer and Nick Zeller, he hadn’t told his sister Brooke Osborne because it was a matter between Nick and Cameron. Besides, if his parents found out, the whole Winters Family wouldn’t be at peace, so he kept it to himself.

And before Cameron Spencer got Nick Zeller’s consent, he wouldn’t voluntarily reveal their father-son relationship.

So for now, only Gabrielle Winters, the old Daoist, Lawrence Winters, and Kenneth Osborne knew.

Kenneth hadn’t bought a ticket yet, thinking that since they’re going to the same destination, he might as well hitch a ride and travel with Lawrence, so he agreed immediately, ”Alright, then I’ll bother you.”

”Ken, you’re being so polite, it’s scaring me,” Lawrence joked with a smile.

...

The next morning, Nick Zeller and Lawrence Winters took a taxi to the airport to meet up with Kenneth Osborne.

Cameron Spencer’s private jet was parked at the Capital City’s T2 terminal.

After the three of them boarded the plane, it quickly took off, heading to the Southern Region’s Z City.

Since Nick sat between Kenneth and Lawrence, Kenneth had to talk to Nick along the way.

He discovered that Nick and Lawrence weren’t staying at the Spencer Family mansion but instead booked a luxury suite in the largest hotel in Z City.

Kenneth himself would definitely stay at his sister Brooke Osborne’s house, as she had repeatedly instructed him to do so.

And Nick, who was Cameron Spencer’s son, was staying in a hotel?

Although Kenneth didn’t ask out loud, Nick had already noticed his curiosity and smiled, ”I know Ken keeps secrets well, so I hope you continue to keep this one. I don’t want others to know for now.”

Kenneth understood that it was to avoid suspicion, which is why they booked another hotel.

He nodded, ”I understand this is between you and Mr. Spencer, and I won’t tell anyone. I definitely won’t tell my sister unless I want to make life difficult for myself, as my parents would surely find out.”

Nick laughed heartily, ”I knew I wasn’t wrong about you! Thanks, Ken!”

He clasped his hands in gratitude toward him with a smile.

Lawrence also covered her mouth and laughed.

When she lifted her left hand, Kenneth noticed there was no ring on her finger, not the engagement ring he had bought for her.
