Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 569: Chapter 305: The Auspicious Hour Has Arrived (Second Update)

Kenneth Osborne nodded repeatedly with a smile, unable to find the words.

Lawrence Winters, being an insider, was quite shrewd.

She chased after the old Daoist and asked, ”Grandmaster Grandpa, what about the exact timing? What time is best to go to the registry office? We need to allow for some queueing time, right? Could you calculate which time would be most suitable for registering the certificate?”

This timing refers to the ”auspicious moment” within what’s called a ”lucky day.”

It’s usually a specific period, considered to be within an hour.

The old Daoist closed his eyes, pondered for a moment, then chuckled and said, ”I really do need to calculate the timing.”

With that, he got up, went back to his room, and began using his abacus to calculate the best ”auspicious moment” for the next day.

This type of calculation can be very general, determining the best time of day.

But these calculations aren’t very useful because people have different paths.

There’s no ”lucky day” or ”auspicious moment” that’s good for everyone.

Those who are particular will calculate the time specifically based on their birth date and hour to find which time is best for each person.

The old Daoist was doing this kind of calculation.

After half an hour, he smiled and said, ”Tomorrow morning, leave at eight, and get to the registry office by ten to register. That will be your lucky day.”

Lawrence Winters pulled out her phone, checked the map, and laughed, ”From here to the nearest registry office, it’s only a fifteen-minute drive. — Once we get there, take a photo and queue up, we should be done by ten.”

She smiled and asked the old Daoist, ”Do we really have to leave at eight? What about nine? Leaving so early, the office isn’t even open yet!”

”Since it’s you who asked for the timing, you can’t ignore it,” the old Daoist said with a smile, ”Otherwise, it won’t be auspicious.”

”Stop, stop!” Lawrence Winters quickly stopped the old Daoist from continuing, ”We agreed only to speak good words. Tomorrow is my registration day, Grandmaster Grandpa, can you be a bit lenient with your words?”

The old Daoist nodded with a smile and stopped talking nonsense.

That night, Kenneth Osborne stayed in his old room and had a good night’s sleep.

The following morning, he went out to buy breakfast and returned to find Lawrence Winters already up.

The childhood sweethearts were getting married today, and when they met, they were actually a bit shy.

It wasn’t the feeling of familiarity like the left hand touching the right hand.

Both felt this fresh feeling was quite nice.

After breakfast, they each went back to their rooms to freshen up.

Kenneth Osborne put on the suit jacket he had specially prepared for attending a wedding in the Southern Region.

Lawrence Winters also changed into a business suit that looked like a couple’s outfit with Kenneth’s.

When they came out of their rooms and saw each other’s attire, they both shared a knowing smile.

This must be what it’s like to be in tune with each other!

Kenneth Osborne held Lawrence Winters’ hand and gently said, ”Let’s go, I’ll take you to register.”

Lawrence Winters smiled foolishly, only nodding, unable to speak.

Kenneth Osborne affectionately ruffled her hair and asked, ”Did you bring the documents?”

Lawrence Winters patted her bag, ”Brought them all, they’re right here.”

Kenneth Osborne, still not assured, opened the bag to check again and had Lawrence Winters double-check her documents too.

After cross-checking, they finally left together.

They checked their watches: it was exactly eight o’clock.

However, in the Capital City, eight o’clock was precisely the time for heavy traffic and congestion.

Although their drive to the nearest registry office only took fifteen minutes, they couldn’t avoid the traffic jams.

Of course, even with traffic, such a short distance would only take half an hour at most.

Lawrence Winters still believed the old Daoist had made them leave at eight just to mess with them.

Kenneth Osborne’s car was parked in their own underground garage, so today Lawrence Winters was driving.

She drove her little BMW 3 Series, weaving through the early morning traffic of Capital City, cheerfully chatting with Kenneth Osborne, feeling a bit exhilarated.

...

At the same time, Aiden Sheldon was in his family’s Rolls-Royce Phantom, heading to a hot spring resort on the outskirts of the city.

He had also returned to Capital City yesterday, only to find that Autumn Stetford and Ruby Sheldon had gone to a hot spring resort in the suburbs for the weekend.

Early this morning, Autumn Stetford suddenly called him, saying Ruby Sheldon was feeling unwell, refusing to take medicine, and wanted to see her dad.

Aiden Sheldon watched the video, seeing Ruby Sheldon’s haggard face, and felt utterly heartbroken.

As he sat in the car, he continued to video call Autumn Stetford, frowning, ”How could she catch a cold just by soaking in a hot spring?”
