COTE: A Man On A Mission || Love is War?

“Are you following me?”

Hosen and Nanase are a group.

However, two days ago, Nanase Tsubasa left her partner selfishly and joined Ayanokoji’s team.

But suddenly, a student in Hachiman’s class was attacked, and he speculated that Nanase’s partner might have been the one who did it.

So, she ran back to find Hosen to argue.

And now that she appears here, it means Hosen has proven innocence.

“Eh...No, I just wanted Vice President to know Hosen-kun is innocent. Besides, now....” Nanase seemed to be in a low mood, and there was some confusion in her expression, “Now school has completed its actions to stop the violence....”

’Is that so? In other words, the order to prohibit violence issued by Acting chairman has been made. Because, she had been preparing for so long, and was going to find Ayanokoji in this exam, and seek revenge on him. Method used is violence, which is now banned, so her revenge plan will be aborted....’

“Have you ever thought about what your goal is in coming to this school?” Senior Hikigaya is probably very free now, so he still has time to enlighten the junior.

“What is the purpose of my coming to school...” Nanase began to think.

’What do I want to do in this school? It’s to avenge Eiichiro and seek justice. Am I going to get stuck in the student life here and give up the chance for Eiichiro’s revenge? If I indulged in the stable student life here, then all my efforts would be putting cart before the horse! So, I shouldn’t give up here because I am afraid of violence and being forced to drop out of school!’

”I understand. Thank you, Hikigaya-senpai!” Nanase Tsubasa rekindled her fighting spirit.

Then she walked to the table and started taking her test.

“....” Hachiman. ’Does this count as guiding my junior schoolmate to use violence? Her mental state is worrying. If she doesn’t take action, problems will arise over time....’

So, he was just waiting on the side.

The test had already begun, and question was about movie-related knowledge points.

There was a line that was taken and then asked who said it and which movie it was from.

For example.

[Create a little commotion, disrupt the original order, and then everything becomes chaotic, and I am the representative of chaos. Do you know the benefits of chaos? It can bring fairness.]

[You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.]

These things (referring to Harvey Dent’s vendetta) can be done by me, because I am not a hero, like Dent. I killed those people, and I can be that kind of person.]

There are also cases where a plot of a movie is captured, relevant cause and effect relationships are asked.

It is not complicated, but it requires a lot of knowledge.

Since there were only three groups participating, everyone received a reward.

“So, the matter is resolved?”

While Hachiman was on the side, another teacher in charge of the subject said to him.

Acting Chairman Tsukishiro fulfilled his promise and increased patrols by faculty and staff to protect the safety of students.

One of the projects has also received additional staff, so there are now two people in charge of this project.

One is already organizing students to start taking exams.

Other one is on the side, and this one is an acquaintance, Chabashira Sae.

“Well, the matter is basically resolved. But Chabashira-sensei, have you met Shinohara and the others?”

“They have recovered. But we need to observe for a while.”

Um....So video that Chairman’s agent produced was indeed not misleading.

“But, Chabashira-sensei, your cell phone—” Hachiman said again.

“I’ve already got it from Hoshinomiya. You used my phone to get the student wristband replacement form. And you also took a photo with it. Do you want to do something?” Chabashira almost got herself in trouble.

“Although the school has intervened, we students don’t want to do nothing. So, I collected some information myself. But the timing is not good right now. We can only wait.”

“Hehe——” Chabashira smiled rarely. She knew that boy in front of her was a little adult, “But you seem to be worried about something....”

Although he was talking to her, Hikigaya’s eyes kept falling on the tablet in his left hand.

Right.

Hachiman was indeed worried.

Because he searched for the location of Amasawa and found that she had stayed in H9 area for a while, but now continued to move forward and passed the H9 topic area.

Towards H10.

There was nothing in H10.

It was edge of the island, and there were no assignments or designated areas in such a dangerous place.

It was because of this discovery that Hachiman felt a little strange.

The walkie-talkie that Amasawa carried could no longer be used to communicate.

Description is corrupted. Was this accidental or intentional?

“Chabashira-sensei. Can you tell me the information of teacher in charge of H9 area today?”

“What do you want to do?” Chabashira looked at him with several doubts. ’This little brat has already caused Chie to violate the rules, and the evidence is in my phone. Now, do you want me to violate the rules as well?’

Only, Chabashira-sensei is just like Suzune who still speaks the truth.

“When us teachers are assigned tasks, they receive notifications directly, and go to the departure point to carry the necessary materials and examination-related equipment to the location where they need to depart. They are sent directly to our phones by the school. Each person only gets their own copy, no one else’s.”

’I see. That’s why Chabashira-sensei was able to get her phone back so quickly. It’s because she has a mission. Even if she wanted to let me know, couldn’t.....’

“I see.” Although he didn’t get the information he wanted, Hachiman still thanked Chabashira-Sensei.

“…...” The corner of Sae-chan’s eye twitched. ’Because this kid might be planning to do something dangerous. Or maybe you should contact Chie. Although each person’s mobile phone will only receive their own task arrangements. But, girl has strong communication skills, so she might be able to get the duty information for the project being carried out in H9 area today.....’

“I’m sorry, Hikigaya-senpai.”

Amasawa is now in H10 area, she also destroyed the walkie-talkie on her way here.

The reason is simple.

In order to prevent any intercom interference or... put other party in danger during the meeting.

“I’ve seen the terrain here. It’s steep and dangerous. Most people wouldn’t come here.”

Amasawa went to H9 area and met one of the teachers in charge of exam there.

The teacher brought her over, she is also very familiar with party.

Because this was her instructor in White Room for the past five years.

He is very skilled.

“You mean to say that on last day of exam, this area will become an altar for Ayanokoji-senpai to drop out of school?”

“That’s about right. I don’t have that much time to play with kids. So, since I have been assigned the task of expelling Ayanokoji Kiyotaka, I must complete it quickly. You led him here. Leave the rest to me. I’ll force him to drop out of school voluntarily.”

Voluntarily withdraw from school?

’Ayanokoji-senpai is Masterpiece of the 4th Demonic Gen. Although me and Takuya are best of 5th Gen, I have also observed senpai’s reaction in White Room when his peer was shot in the leg....just like after Hosen took action. He remained expressionless even when his left hand was pierced by a dagger, and even used this incident as a weapon to control Hosen....Are you really from this world?’

At least, she and Yagami couldn’t do it.

The other party is worthy of being given title of Masterpiece.

In the past, Amasawa served as a control group.

She was confident that she was different from ordinary people since she was a child.

She wiped out the emotions in her eyes and pretended to be calm while completing various tasks.

In fact, she always doubted the significance of existence of the facility.

’You said you wanted me to grow up for White Room’s ideals and sacrifice my life for them? Saying that I work hard in the hope of becoming your most successful cultivation case is also your long-cherished wish? I always feel like, isn’t this unfortunate? Usually, everyone wants to live more freely, right?’ Amasawa thought to herself that she definitely didn’t want to be locked up there forever, and now that she was out, she saw a glimpse of the vast world.

She saw freedom, and she also understood why Ayanokoui-senpai preferred to behave in an ordinary way after escaping.

Because, even so, this is a freedom that is not available in White Room.

So, now, she has to live for herself.

Ichika wants freedom!

“This proposal looks good. But, I’m sorry I can’t agree to that. Yagami’s actions have caused evaluation of us White Room students to decline, and if I fail, then we will be a joke. So, I can’t take action.”

“What do you mean? Are you trying to disobey orders?” The instructor finally discovered student assigned from White room was actually disobedient.

Ichika Amasawa works hard for her freedom.

Meanwhile, exam for Chabashira-sensei, a teacher that Hachiman is studying from, has also ended.

The final result was that Ibuki won first place. Got a 10 point reward.

Nanase came in second place, and Kamuro-san didn’t answer a single question correctly, but since there were only three people in the group, she came in 3rd place.

Judging from Ibuki’s shocked expression, she probably didn’t expect that her obsessive-compulsive disorder of going to the movies would come in handy one day.

When Hachiman and others were about to leave, Chabashira Sensei suddenly called him.

“?” Hachiman turned around.

But Chabashira said to him in her cold voice, “The two teachers in charge of H9’s subjects are homeroom teacher of 1st-year D and 3rd year Class C.”

“Didn’t you say before that you only knew your own shift information?” Hikigaya-kun asked curiously.

“I contacted Hoshinomiya.”

’In other words, it was acquired through communication skills of Hoshinomiya-sensei. So that’s it. Then it is undoubtedly true she is a larger version of Kushida. It seems like you have been very skilled in using Hoshinomiya-sensei before.....’

Hachiman felt as if he had seen Suzune tricking Kushida into doing her work.

But, he also thought it might be because he hadn’t seen Suzune for a long time, so he mistook Chabashira for her.

Although he was thinking this, image of first-year D class teacher Shiba appeared in Hachiman’s mind.

He has a bowl-lid hairstyle with bangs, is serious and wears a suit.

But one can feel there might be quite strong muscles under well-ironed suit.

When he first saw him, Hachiman even felt threatened. So, that’s what happened.

’Chairman Tsukishiro is acting as the deputy. They said he would arrange for a student from White Room to come in, but in the end arranged for two, and now have also got relevant members of White Room to come in and become the class teacher....What these adults say is totally unreliable. So could I now suspect that, in addition to Amasawa and Yagami, you might have arranged for other White Room students to come in? Are you still hiding?’

In this way, after obtaining the information of teacher in H9 area, he can almost confirm that Amasawa Ichika will go to that location, and then go to H10, where she should meet Shiba-sensei.

The subject examination will then be administered by another 3rd grade teacher.

’Shiba-sensei will take her to another area to talk. Therefore, Amasawa should have been called away by the adults of White Room to do some dirty work....However, if she was simply called away, was it necessary to smash the intercom? Is she worried that my inappropriate noises would affect her, or is she worried that I would be implicated?’

At this moment, Hikigaya-kun suddenly recalled what happened before the exam at school when Amasawa agreed to be his hidden chess piece.

[I can cooperate with you, senpai. But my price is quite high. That is, if one day in the future I cannot go back to that place, please provide a place for me to hide.]

’It was obvious she didn’t want to go back. But, it was not her decision whether to go back or not. That means other party might want to do something. Like resisting orders. Because if you can always complete the tasks well and are willing to stay up late to work overtime, then when the opportunity for promotion comes, it will definitely be given to person with connections, and then you can go to your leader....The most cost-effective approach is to choose to give up right from the beginning. Even if you are assigned to work, but you are used to being lax and others are also used to you being lax, then they will not assign you to work. Until you become dispensable, and if you make a mistake again, you will be fired.....As for giving up and resisting, perhaps this is the way that Amasawa, a student of White Room, can fight against her superiors....girl is very smart. So should I wait for the other party to play freely?’ Hachiman was now completely able to decode this person’s heart.

[Do you want to pay 1 material point to check Amasawa’s location?]

Yes!

Hachiman clicked the payment button very quickly.
